Yes! A new sushi and ramen spot. And it's actually good! Everything we had was delicious. The shrimp tempura, the sushi roll and the ramen. Service was great. Interior looked updated and fresh. Saw some rolls I haven't seen before. And much more on the menu I am interested in coming back for.

I went here on a Saturday at around 6, wasn't too busy around 3 tables other than myself. The staff were friendly but since it is so small they kinda were watching and waiting which is expected in a smaller restaurant. I got a Sapporo, gyoza, edamame and the shrimp crunch roll. The gyoza was top tier, I've never had bits of tempura underneath always some type of lettuce or cabbage. It was great for me because I love extra crunch! The shrimp roll was the perfect ratio for a great bite! There were a few tables coming in for a dinner rush around 7 so sweet spot probably in between 4 to 6. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes! Love the new local business in Sumner keep it up!

I had several pieces of nigiri style sushi and a maki. It came with really good tasting miso soup. Yummy, yummy... I loved it. Very good sushi. Although, it's not a traditional Japanese ambience, it is more upscale than a Trappers. The staff was on point and very attentive. This is a gem in Sumner next to the train station.

Delivery plate from Shio Sushi. Hotate, tamago, roll, ikura, uni, madai. Fresh and delicious.
    Katherine J.

Joy and enlightenment. The nigiri and gunkan were beautifully balanced, light, layered, and thoughtful. The uni was delicate and creamy, decorated with some tiny bright popping pearl. The hotate, madai, ikura, were all beautifully done as well. Every piece tasted intentional. Even the tamago stood out, it tasted and looked like it might be house-made. I've eaten from several sushi places recently, and this one is operating on a higher level. Fresher, more composed, more balanced and careful. Somehow this all survived delivery! It felt like a true sushi counter experience rather than takeout sushi. Genuinely one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and I look forward to going in person.

I had such a great experience here! Staff were so accommodating and kind. The food was amazing!!!!! I will definitely be coming back here often when I'm craving ramen + sushi

Sure, love her. Fresh and delicious is table stakes at this point. What I'm actually looking for is creativity--something inventive, exciting, new. Not papier-mâché. Not arts and crafts. Just... something I haven't already eaten a hundred times. Sushi Konami absolutely gets it. The appetizers alone deserve their own standing ovation. The breaded oysters are fantastic, especially drizzled in the chili sauce on the side. And then there are the "monkey brains"- basically a large mushroom stuffed with cream cheese and crab, battered and fried into a tempura ball of joy. Does it sound like it could stop your heart after one bite? Possibly. Will you regret eating it? Absolutely not. Just bring a defibrillator and a positive attitude. The rolls are consistently unique and interesting, the kind where you read the description and think, Okay, I trust you. It honestly feels hard to go wrong here. And if you're more of a traditionalist, no worries, you can still get your dragon roll or rainbow roll and be perfectly happy. Highly recommended. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Or I should say, my wife had sushi. We go to sushi restaurants frequently but I never developed a taste for raw fish. So I'm always looking for non sushi items. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they have a full sushi array, they had yakisoba and teriyaki and many other cooked Japanese foods. We both really liked the food. It was not expensive as sushi goes and very very fresh.

They have…read moreincreased their lunch prices since then so just be aware that the menus I posted last year are not the same as this current year. I had gotten their bento lunch special last year and was very happy with the amount of food but did not receive miso soup. They raised this price by $5 and I couldn't really justify that so I decided to get something else. My boyfriend got their sushi roll lunch special last time and in our recent visit and was happy with his choices. I got the sushi rolls lunch specials this time and I wished the rolls had more rice on them as there spots that had no rice at all or it would just come apart. For our rolls, we have tried their Philly roll, shrimp tempura roll, Lion King Roll, and spicy Bay roll. The sushi here is just your average sushi spot. It doesn't really differentiate itself from other places. For example, the spicy bay roll that I got just had a line of sriracha sauce and I was hoping for their own spicy sauce to top it off. The teriyaki was good from what I remembered but again, nothing to really differentiate it from other nearby locations. The service is friendly but they never come back to check on you or refill waters. Even when we were finished, the waitress was watching TV and must have got engrossed in it that she forgot we were there as no take out orders or other customers came in while we were there. They do have a large TV playing sports but no music and the TV was rather quiet. The space is nice but it just felt very dark but we sat next to a window so I could take nice pictures. I think this will be our last visit as there are other locations offer a better dining experience with better service and ambiance.

From the undercooked vegetables and rice to the missing portions of people's entrées, including my own husband was disappointing and clearly overpriced. The chef was clearly inexperienced. My husband ended up with hot shrimp in his lap and I had grease all over my dress. It was shameful. Service was lacking if you wanted a second drink and you were a little older and not a girl that wasn't even happening. We were also asked if we were buying for the whole table considering its community seating that seemed a little off putting. It was clear that we were not altogether and that there were three separate parties. We were a party of three adults and one child so three main adults ordered large portions of food and we did do the seven dollar shareable but when it came to adding a gratuity, we realize that they had automatically added 18% onto our bill as if we were a party of six or more once again overcharging not much here for us. Hope this can help somebody to make a decision, but we will not return. Good luck

We would love to go back but the total is what will make this place a once in a great while outing.

Quality of the fish is unmatched, flown in twice a week from Japan. Yellow tail and blue fin otoro is available but as far as I know only on weekends. And I believe all the tuna is a very high quality Blue fin. Must try the Snapper Ngiri Been reading some of the reviews and I wanted to say to the person that was complaining about fake crab that most all sushi restaurants use it. If you want real crab you can ask for it. Some rolls are listed in the menu with real crab meat. Also fish bones will be found in Eel/Unagi everywhere and I seriously doubt it was in your fish. To some that say it's too expensive I say if you can't afford to eat sushi then Taco Bell is always an option. That being said this place has prices similar or lower than trappers and last time I went to Trappers I actually reached into the tip jar and took back my $20 and left it was so bad. Also this is a one of one restaurant and not a chain. The Owners are super friendly and Teddy the owner is behind the bar most days. There is another Sumo Sushi but it's completely different owners and not at all the same. This is the place to go.

Looked up on Yelp and came up with this amazing find. Located in a non descript older strip mall, it doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is very cozy. Kodie was our server. She was amazing. Very cordial and friendly. We ordered the deluxe sashimi and the tempura meal. I included a photo of the sashimi meal. And yes it does taste as amazing as it looks. The fish was very fresh and the cuts were amazing. As for the tempura, it too was very good. If you've eaten tempura as often as I have, you can quickly tell the difference between low quality and high quality batter. Generous portion sizes too. The meals came with miso soup and a salad. Very enjoyable. Thank you very much again Kodie and the rest of the crew for a fantastic experience. We look forward to coming back the next time we are in town
