Been here maybe around 4-5 times with my family. Every time we walk in the vibe is always pleasant, everyone is cheerful and attendant. They constantly check on you if everything is okay at the beginning then understand to give you personal space to enjoy your food and not constantly have to answer questions with a mouth full of food. They made sure to come around, pick up, refill drinks, and stay around if we had any questions. Food is also pleasant, great price for all you can eat. I usually am wary of appetizers but they have a great selection! The menu also makes sure to describe what is in each sushi roll for those who are picky and looking for something specific. The food does make you full but not heavy, and sometimes you have leftovers you can take home! There is a 50 cent charge for every sushi piece you don't finish but I haven't seen them enforce this rule that much. I am definitely looking forward to going there more in the future with family or friends!

Great tasting and great price. My buddy ate 5 rolls on the "All you can eat menu". Not sure how he did it, but he did. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that they used way too much cream cheese in their rolls. Over powers the fish and other ingredients. I will be back for sure.

I love that Sushi Ai is one of the few sushi restaurants that offers AYCE menu in St Louis. The prices have gone up from $18.99 to $23.99/ person (it's been like 4 years since the $18.99) for the regular AYCE menu but I think it's still a good deal. I always love the nigiris (especially the squid and the octopus) as they have a great selection and I can order multiple times. The roll selection is also great to choose from. My favorites are the Volcano, Sapporo and Pop Up. The appetizers menu is alright, it's a nice add-on. I usually order edamame to share with people as it is pretty big then order dumplings and shumai for myself. They also have a regular menu with lots of variety. To be honest, I've been to Sushi Ai so many times, both the Clayton and Ballwin locations but somehow never written a review... I'm glad that the Ballwin location is close to my house and they've been doing an amazing job through out the pandemic!

Whenever I am craving sushi, this is the place to go. The service is friendly and attentive even when the restaurant is packed. It's my favorite place to relax and enjoy endless delicious raw fish until my stomach hurts.

I would call it rice ball rather than sushi... the fish is super small and very thin that couldn't even cover the rice... crab salad was pretty good. Dress is very refreshing.

My daughter and I love having lunch together here! You can't beat the lunch special and any roll you choose is delicious. The service is always great and fast.

I like the sushi japan's sushi. They have thick fish meat than any other sushi bar I have been to before.

My wife and I decided on sushi tonight and, despite reading several reviews mentioning slow and…read morepoor service, we chose to give this restaurant a fair chance. At first, things seemed promising. We were seated quickly and received our drinks from the bar without any delay. Unfortunately, that was the peak of the experience. After placing our order, our server completely disappeared. We were left completely unattended for 35 minutes, and not once did anyone come by to check on us... or even apologize. Meanwhile, other tables who ordered after us received their appetizers first. Looking around the dining room, it was obvious the restaurant was extremely understaffed. Dirty tables sat uncleared while new guests waited to be seated. When we finally flagged someone down to ask about our food, they "checked on it" and brought out our appetizers... cold. Clearly, they had been sitting somewhere and were served to us anyway. That level of carelessness is unacceptable. A little common sense would have gone a long way. To make matters worse, we were then told they had two other appetizers ready that they didn't know where to deliver. Unbelievable. In hindsight, the first red flag should have been when we were served water in plastic cups because there were "no glasses available." When the sushi rolls finally arrived, they were nothing special. The rice was dry and lacked freshness. Our entrée followed and was barely warm at best. Overall, the service was disorganized, inattentive, and frustrating, and the food failed to make up for it. A restaurant like this needs to learn what the customer experience should look like. Take our advice, go somewhere else.

We lucked out and were there while happy hour pricing was in effect. Our waitress was quick to get our drink order, and allowed us time to look over the menu, answering our questions as we went. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and as I said, the service was great. We really enjoyed that the volume of the other diners was a nice quiet tone, making this more of an intimate setting, so we didn't need to raise our voices just to be heard. We look forward to coming to this side of the river again soon
