Uber friendly staff and great selection of men's and women's clothing at S. Graf store downtown Palo Alto on Hamilton Ave (runs parallel to University). We wanted to pick inside and their sales clerks were actually busy rearranging the displays and sorting out piles of clothes, yet they both stopped and greater us. Not only that, they proceeded with friendly chatter about our dog (who loves the attention and was happy to say hello, tail wagging and all), then about men's short coat my wife glanced at. At the same time, there was nothing pushy in their behavior. When sales people know how to strike just the right balance between being human and their sales duties, it's a big plus and a rare occurrence nowadays. Even though it clearly looked like we were just browsing and unlikely to buy anything, they had been just as friendly and nice as they would have been to someone leaving a cash load there, and that alone deserves an appreciative 5 stars from me. This was one of the most uncomfortable shopping experiences I've ever had. We walked in fully prepared to purchase several pieces, but left without buying anything because of how poorly we were treated. The sales associate never introduced herself, was unfriendly from the start, and spent our entire visit following us around the store. Rather than offering assistance or creating a welcoming atmosphere, her behavior made us feel watched and judged. It was impossible to shop comfortably. As visitors from the East Coast, we're very familiar with boutique shopping and understand attentive customer service. This was not that. Good boutiques make customers feel welcome, not like suspects under surveillance. It's unfortunate because we came ready to spend a significant amount of money, but chose to take our business elsewhere. read more

I would never shop here. Beyond unwelcoming. Whether she was the owner or just an employee, the tall, thin, bitter looking old woman who was working there on the afternoon of 7/12 assured she lost a lot of sales with her mere presence. read more

I mean, the prices here speak for themselves. You either easily spend this amount of money on clothing or you don't. Personally, I don't. The quality is nice and the taste level is forgettable. No service to speak of as I walked in, did a slow round, and walked out without ever being spoken to. I would call it a small town Bloomingdales and move on. read more

At least I got to try on & find best size so I can order online. Big supporter of small business, these folks don't want mine. Friend and I went shopping and were accused of stealing because we were spending a lot of time deciding what to buy. We were approached by the retailer and told we were "slinking around" and that "we should leave". Super unprofessional and very rude. read more

Such a fantastic local boutique & my go to for gifts! They have really well made & styled clothing and Susan has fantastic style. I laughed out loud when passIng in front that there was a small clearance rack at the entry door with 2 dozen items priced at "massive discount" of $150 each. Walked in with my wife and her 2 gal pals. They were eyeing a conservative cut plain camel colored well made wool coat. Price: $2,750. My wife & I buy our clothes at Macy's. I've always loved browsing in this lovely little store. The prices, however, have kept my wallet in my purse. Today I visited the store with one goal in mind: to look at their selection of sandals. Two wonderful saleswomen were attentive and helpful. They seemed interested in my quest for a pair of shoes for a special occasion and were more than helpful with advice. Neither was pushy or snobby, as you often find in upscale establishments. I walked out with two pair of shoes feelings that the prices were fair and the employees friendly and helpful. I had received a gift card to this store however she DOES NOT HONOR GIFT CARDS given of monetary value (this was not a discount card). This is bad business and should be reported to the BBB. Upon going to purchase something of the price of the card (nothing really appealed to me in this place, mostly overpriced stuff that came in a container from China) she says I have to spend double. "I can't just give things away I'd be out of business". Those words actually came out of her mouth, and quite rudely. Shame on this woman. read more

When it comes to shopping in Healdsburg and being a resident there are only so many stores that you can run into and grab the perfect item for a night out, a day at a winery, or just for having company over. Reading these previous reviews highly disappoints me. Every visit I've made to Susan Graf LTD I have nothing but great service and have walked out with gorgeous items. The lady that helped me in the store on my most recent visit was so kind, willing to help and was friendly. She established good rapport and even offered to order something for me that they did not have in stock. While I was in there owner Susan was there as well. It was nice to see her tending to her store and stocking items. She's a very friendly person and gave a warm welcome to her store. I am not sure if she had a previously terrible sales associate working there before, but I would never say that you need to be white or have style to go in there (I mean the woman has styled Oprah!) and I have made trips there in my running clothes and never had a problem. Overall this is a classic, chic, and lovely store. She carries the best clothes in town and I am so happy to have this store in my backyard! read more

What a fabulous store. I just keep going back for more. The clothes are beautifully selected and displayed to give you fresh ideas for putting things together. Casual to dressy. A full collection. Good price spread. The more expensive pieces are real investments. Unique and timeless feel. The owner, Susan, is amazing. Bring in something you have that you like but cant figure out how to wear well and she will put the pieces together to make it work. I always leave looking better than when I went in. So annoyed that I bought a piece of clothing at the store and I paid for it. They charged my credit card. My Dad was ill and I had to go back east. When I returned, they said, the item was put back on the sales floor. I spoke with them on the phone several times. How hard would it have been to call my cell phone and mail it to me. I would have gladly paid the shipping. When something is sold, can't they put it in the back with the paid receipt and the name of the customer? read more

This is a well deserved 5 star. My daughter was attending a wedding over the weekend. She forgot her heel protectors at home and she was worried about ruining her brand new high heels. I called Susan Graf asked if they had heel protectors and the woman that answered was lovely. She went out of her way to look for some and found 1 last pair. She was nice enough to put them aside for my daughter and i hadn't even paid for them. My daughter swung by and picked them up. The whole transaction took 6 minutes and she made it to the wedding with plenty of time to spare. Highly recommend. read more

Wow, this woman could not be more rude. I was crossing the street with my 2 year old son and she was blowing dirt and leaves in front of the store, I noticed she wasn't stopping for anybody and looked at her and asked her to stop. I guess she couldn't hear me over the blower but she had definitely seen us. As we make our way through the intersection she continues to blow. I had nowhere to go and she blew a ton of dirt right in my child's eyes and lungs he started screaming and crying "my eyes" meanwhile she is still blowing and not phased (of course she has herself protected with goggles.... which are huge and clear so again definitely can see) ! Seriously!Total disregard for any other humans. She was super snobby and rude. I have lived in this town my whole life and it is people like this with their seriously over priced rip off of a store and rude attitudes that ruin it. read more

I love this store. I have gotten many beautiful clothes there over the years and still have almost all of them. I believe in investment clothing---things that never go out of style and are of excellent quality. I'm retired so I don't buy a lot of clothes but what I do buy, I want to be unique and yet timeless. The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful and my husband loves shopping there because he is treated so well (he also likes to buy clothes there). This is one of the few Sonoma County clothing stores that carries designer couture that you can generally only buy in San Francisco. I love that this store has excellent sales at least twice a year and that there are a wide range of sizes. Thank you Susan for the excellent shopping experience. read more

There is no doubt that the garments here are beautiful, however that does not excuse the rude behavior of the snooty owner and sales staff. If you are not white or appearing to look "white", no one will pay attention to you. They will, however, mock you. No one came to greet me, but I caught the sales clerk and another woman looking at me and giggling. The prices are extremely inflated and not worth it for the price. Went to this store two weeks ago with my mother in law and I were treated horribly. Don't even bother coming in here unless you are white and/or well dressed. I am hispanic and went in with my Chanel purse and that wasn't enough for the snobs in there. My MIL saw a beautiful sweater for $4K and wondered what a similiar style was priced for since it was obvious that they didn't even bother to get the jacket out of its shipping bag and price it. We went up to the counter and asked for a price and she replied "its very expensive, thousands of dollars". My MIL and I were not rude to them and did not reply the way we should have. Instead we decided to take the high road and just say "thats okay, what is the price though?" and then the cashier replied "we'll have to look it up for you". Which she never did. She just ignored us and didn't help us. If you want to be treated with respect and dignity, save your money and go some place else. read more

Went in on the recommendation of a friend, ready and eager to shop. First thing the salesperson greets me with is "We have bigger sizes in the back". What? No hello, good afternoon, etc. Okay, most of what was on the racks is in the size 4 range (I'm a 10, and not used to being treated so rudely.) I'm proud of my size (and can't change it), and will NEVER go in this shop again. Hope their staff get's better training in the future. Suggestion for the sales clerk: "If you can't find the size you're looking for, we have more stock in the back room"...or something to that effect. read more

I went in this store and found something I liked but had a question. There was only one sales person helping someone else and she seemed to not be able to take her eyes off this customer (who I assume was going to spend lots of $$$) After waiting around a while, I left. I then came back an hour later and the same sales person, who I found out is the manager, wouldn't even give me a moment of eye contact. Bought a shirt and purse. wanted to buy a color they were out of in my side of the same shirt. They said the colors vary on reorders so I went to the website for the shirt company. Price difference of the same exact shirt I purchased for $120.00 online price was 75$ (not a sale price) with no shipping charge. I bought 3. Never been to a store with such over inflated prices. A warmer acknowledgement would have them selling something (maybe) or maybe a repeat visit with friends (possible sales!) but they do not make much of an attempt.
