From personalized service to selection, it's a rare find for Healdsburg let alone Sonoma County. They carry exclusive limited production couture and some other accessible recognized labels. Even some local makers, that's cool. I would liken Tamarind to the quality and level of clientele that one might find in Calabasas or Ojai, and of course wine country. They fill a niche cache of specialty labels very well. A needed level of boutique shopping that sadly Sonoma County is lacking. This is a must visit in your wine country best life sojourn. I would expect a retail store with two decades of experience to understand why a customer who spends over $70 on a cotton t-shirt would expect it to last longer than a couple months. Had I bought them at a department store, they would have gladly made it right. This was an obvious defect in workmanship, not a case of buyer's remorse or change of heart. A simple exchange for an identical pair without the defect would have meant keeping a customer.

As visitors from the East Coast, we're very familiar with boutique shopping and understand attentive customer service. This was not that. Good boutiques make customers feel welcome, not like suspects under surveillance. It's unfortunate because we came ready to spend a significant amount of money, but chose to take our business elsewhere.
