I was recommended Darwin and Surfline by a good friend who spoke highly of them. I needed to have my shower faucet replaced. I could not have been happier with the work and pricing provided by Darwin. It was quite a task removing the existing faucet which was installed in 2002 and was basically frozen by the lime and calcium from our hard CA water (the faucet was also leaking water). I was sure there would be some tile damage but to my amazement there was none. The replacement was completed in a couple hours including the time it took to buy the faucet. The job and the cleanup were fantastic, looked exactly like when the job started except with a shiny new faucet and twice the water pressure (which was terrible before the work). Darwin took the time to explain the work required and cost, he is clearly an expert professional with 40 years' experience. Also, a super nice guy and a local MB surfer so we hung out and talked surfing after the work was completed! If you are looking for a highly experienced plumber with integrity, Darwin is your guy. Six stars! read more

Surfline was referred to me by a friend. My kitchen sink was clogged and I only had a short window of time that I would be home for the work to be done. Kurtis came out as scheduled and was very professional and efficient. A different plumber had quoted double the rate and recommended to cut the pipe without snaking it first. That did not sound right to me and that's when I called Surfline. Turns out the snaking worked just fine. I would definitely recommend! read more

I'm a realtor who needed a small job done right, asap but not an emergency, and not get charged an arm and a leg. Kurtis was on time and did the job and the price was right. How do I know the price was fair? I had another company come out the day before and wanted to charge me more than double but he couldn't turn the water main off because he didn't have the correct tool so he didn't start the job. Things happen for reason! Thank you Kurtis for making me look good for my client who was looking for my help and we delivered. Grateful read more

I had my new fire place installed and Surfline plumbing did an excellent job. The job included installing and constructing a natural gas line to the fire place and installing my RH Peterson fire place kit. Darwin, the owner, and his son Curtis was very very clean during the installation by using floor covers and a shop vacuum to catch particles flying through out the working area. Surfline Plumbing will be my plumber to call for all my plumbing needs. You will not go wrong using there service with competitive pricing ! read more

Darwin and his crew have done plumbing related work for us for years. Just this past week we developed a leak under our kitchen sink. Ended up replacing sink, faucet and all valves/pipes. Darwin and his son did a GREAT job. Darwin's philosophy is he wants the job done as if it were in his own home. He is a perfectionist, is steadfast, methodical and detailed. And on top of that, a joy to have around. Nice guy, great attitude, excellent work ethic. He is a master at his craft. Highly recommended, can't go wrong. read more

Just the basic facts from our last contact with this plumber: hired him and then paid him for his work on our tankless water heater. Problem was not fixed, he wouldn't return calls- so hired and paid another plumber (who was able to verify that the work had never been done originally). Finally got in touch with Surfline, he flat out admitted that he never did the work & he no longer had the money to return to us. I will not use him again, but maybe you will.... read more

We had an issue with the garbage disposal that wasn't well addressed by another local well-respected plumbing company, so we reached out to Surfline and got immediate, incredible service. Not only that, but we saved 2-3 days of dealing with a leaking unit and probably saved $100 compared to the other company. They'll definitely be our go-to plumbers moving forward! read more

Darwin of Surfline plumbing is simply the best, honest, most knowledgeable plumbing contractor I have ever known. Besides all that, he's a really good guy! He always gets back to me . I highly recommend him! A good plumber is hard to find! read more

I was referred to Surfline when I decided to convert my fireplace to gas. Darwin and his team did a quick, efficient, clean and very competent job and I've been thrilled with my decision and the results. Today I had a tankless water heater and new toilet installed. Again the team was quick, clean and efficient and I couldn't be happier with the results. I rarely give reviews but when you find a team this special you want to let others know! read more

Work: 2 x shower plumbing 3 x sink plumbing 1 x washer plumbing 1 x dryer hookup Darwin and Ethan were so helpful with repairing the plumbing in the townhouse I just recently purchased to get me move-in ready! The home inspector had called out plumbing issues with both showers and all three sinks. Darwin came in and gave me a much more detailed assessment and did a great job getting to work to fix the plumbing. Darwin was critical in identifying a bonehead mistake by the seller's previous plumber and was able to quickly obtain and install a retro kit to the shower on the same day. All the work was done quickly and they even did a great job of minimizing the mess! And in addition to that great work, I later discovered that my washer plumbing was leaking as well, something not caught by the home inspector! Darwin was kind enough to come back to fix this small job and even gave me the insight to replace the 1980s plumbing with some modern equipment. He did mention that the modern equipment wasn't needed, but I didn't want to trust my plumbing to some old, leaky parts. And I got bonus help from him hooking up my dryer which I didn't realize was not setup! Great job and so happy to have been put in contact with Darwin and Surfline Plumbing! read more

Darwin and his assistant were friendly, responsive, professional and fair with their pricing. They fixed a leak and replaced some pipes under our kitchen sink. They were quick and cleaned up after themselves. I don't think you can ask for more from a plumber. I highly recommend Surfline Plumbing! read more

Surfline plumbers suck! They take way to long to finish a job. They been at my house for three days working on a leak. And there still not done. I was told they would be back the next day.and didn't see them til two days later. If you like to be put on the back burner. Hit them up. read more

These guys never fail me. Now have had Eli and Darwin at my house on separate occasions at a moments notice. Last year Darwin went above and beyond for me, today Eli took it up a notch. I can usually handle most repairs myself and no need to call a plumber, but this time was different. Eli found and old repair behind drywall under kitchen sink that someone else hid many years ago before I owned the place. Took care of the repair professionally, reasonably, worked hard, took my stress away, and earned my 5 stars. Great work again guys! read more

After a friend's recommendation, I called Surfline. It took a few calls to get someone, but I kept calling because of the referral. Darwin and a couple of his associates came out and did the four small projects we had. Great, I thought all was good. UNTIL... A faucet we've had trouble with - that he attempted a fix - immediately started leaking again. Fine, I don't blame Darwin because the faucet has been trouble. So I tell him and he asks me to send the faucet model info. so he can order a part, which I did on Oct 16, 2015 and he replied he'd order the part. That's the last I've heard from him. Have left three voice messages and several texts, but nothing. On Nov 13, I texted to please do us the courtesy of saying whether he's still waiting for the part or if he won't be doing the work. Nothing. No response. Very irresponsible. Can you imagine if this was a major project or problem? I recommend you find a different plumber; a person who is good for his word. read more

We have used Darwin twice..after a recommendation from a friend...each time he has worked professionally and completed the work in a timely..and neat, manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending him. read more

Darwin is the best plumber I have dealt with in the South Bay. I had been having flow control issues with my shower faucet for some time and needed to get it fixed before I turned my house into a rental. I am pretty handy and took a stab at fixing it myself, but the one-piece shower knob is pretty complex internally and I could not fix it. I had two other plumbers look at it while they were fiixing other items in my house and they could not fully diagnose the issue without charging me more money for extended troubleshooting. Darwin was a referral from my real estate agent so I gave him a call on a Friday. I was traveling for work that weekend so I was not going to be able to meet him at the house, which was not a problem for him since I had a lock box with a key on the door. He came over the following week while I was away and was able to immediately diagnose the problem and provided me an estimate and photos via text since I was traveling. I agreed to the recommended repair (at a great price!) and he had it fixed and cleaned up before I returned from my trip on Thursday evening and before my new tenants moved in on Sunday. Overall, dealing with Darwin was a great experience and far aboove any I have had with any plumber in the past. I highly recommend this business and will definitely be using them in the future. read more
