My wife and I had lunch here because we heard it was excellent and I love good food. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a young lady who was very polite and pleasant to talk to. The restaurant was very clean and well organized. The young lady took our order. I had one Snap dog and one Nathan's hot dog with a side of Onion rings. If you've never had a snap dog, you are missing out. You have to try them because they are delicious. The food was served very quickly and everything tasted fantastic. The young waitress checked on us periodically to see if we needed anything and how the food was. She was very attentive to us. One of things we noted is the steady stream of customers coming in. This is always a good sign for a good restaurant. After the meal, I had to try their ice cream which was very fresh and tasty. Oh and another note, the bathrooms were very clean, which is another sign of a well organized and welcoming restaurant . Surf Dogs is on our list for whenever we want to go to a comfortable and welcoming place with excellent food and a great staff. I can't wait to go back and try the Chicago dog. Been sitting here as a party of one since 5:40 it's not 6:26 and I still have no food. Benefits of the doubt one person is working the whole front and she is killing it but it is absolutely ridiculous to have one person doing all of this . I'm an experienced server of 10 plus years and the amount of work one person is doing is just not ok. And over 40 mins for one hotdog and a basket of small fries is crazy. Wife specified (STRESSED) she wanted a well-done hot dog, 'burnt' was the word she used and the girl if said "so crispy". I had the pleasure of meeting my mother and brother up here for lunch on Wednesday afternoon the day before Thanksgiving. I think it was about 1:45pm when we arrived. There were still some folks in there eating lunch, however we had no problem grabbing a table right away. Our service was immediate and one of several young ladies who visited the table stopped by and took our drink orders. She came back a few minutes later with our drinks and then took our lunch order. I had a bacon cheeseburger and small fry (of course I did). Mom had a BBQ sandwich and small fry and my brother had the Just Chill'in burger which is a cheeseburger with chili on it, and he also had chili cheese fries. We added a order of onion rings as an app. It took I'd say about 15 minutes for our orders as there was a big order in front of ours. The meals came out to perfection. My burger was slightly pink in the middle and tasted great. I heard no complaints from anyone. Our server and another one kept checking on us regularly and topping off our drinks. We were offered desert however we all declined. I had to get back to work and they had more shopping to do. All in all is the meal I've come to expect from Surf Dogs and I'm looking forward to my next visit sometime soon. read more

This shop is definitely Surf themed! One if the tables was a surf board! When I arrived, it was crowded at the door, so I made my way to the back. I sat down at the surf board and didn't see a menu. When I got up to look at the chalkboard on the wall behind the counter, the server asked if he could help, said there weren't any paper menus, just the chalkboards. Told him what I wanted, paid near the ice cream counter and waited for my chili cheese dogs. They were nice and hot when I got home and pretty tasty, except they were a little spicy for me, but I'm a wimp with chili spice. About a dozen customers - and the staff was overwhelmed. I could tell they were struggling to maintain a pleasant disposition. I heard then say "I'm sorry" a lot to customers. I expected some big taste and was extremely disappointed. The high chair they offered us was broken, the center piece wasn't even on to keep the baby from slipping through the front; my husband ended up fixing it while we waited but the strap to keep the baby inside the seat was broken as well so we had to hold her halfway through. (The baby kept climbing out) Then we had to stop another waitress to get refills for our drinks after waiting for 15 mins. A lot of staff but not very organized for such a small shop. It was a rare occasion in which I was craving a hot dog. I remembered seeing this place as I would venture to the grocery store in my new neighborhood. I stopped in a grabbed a hot dog with chili, cheese, and jalapeños. I haven't bought a hot dog in quite a while so I was surprised it was around $3.50 with no fries or anything, but it did satisfy my craving. It wasn't a foot long, but a normal sized dog. I would have preferred the jalapeños grilled, but that wasn't the menu item so something I would consider in the future. The place was clean and COVID precautions were in place. I ordered a small order of cheese fries. They made a mistake in making it with chili, so they remade it fresh only it wasn't brought to me until after I was finished with my burger. Unfortunately, I was not pleased with the cheese on top. They use finely shredded cheese. I prefer the melted cheese sauce over fries. Hubby had the cheeseburger with an egg on it and the onion rings. Our little one had the hot dog with fruit cup ( which was the pre packaged Dole cups).
