Been going here for a few years now and while the food and service are usually great, today not so much. Stopped in around 3pm and started off OK, with the service, but when downhill from there. Wife specified (STRESSED) she wanted a well-done hot dog, 'burnt' was the word she used and the girl if said "so crispy". Not only was it not well-done, but it was also just barely warm and hadn't browned one bit! I had ordered two NY Hots (my usual) with light onion and cheese sauce. This shop is definitely Surf themed! One if the tables was a surf board! When I arrived, it was crowded at the door, so I made my way to the back. I sat down at the surf board and didn't see a menu. When I got up to look at the chalkboard on the wall behind the counter, the server asked if he could help, said there weren't any paper menus, just the chalkboards. Told him what I wanted, paid near the ice cream counter and waited for my chili cheese dogs. They were nice and hot when I got home and pretty tasty, except they were a little spicy for me, but I'm a wimp with chili spice. I had the pleasure of meeting my mother and brother up here for lunch on Wednesday afternoon the day before Thanksgiving. I think it was about 1:45pm when we arrived. There were still some folks in there eating lunch, however we had no problem grabbing a table right away. Our service was immediate and one of several young ladies who visited the table stopped by and took our drink orders. She came back a few minutes later with our drinks and then took our lunch order. I had a bacon cheeseburger and small fry (of course I did). Mom had a BBQ sandwich and small fry and my brother had the Just Chill'in burger which is a cheeseburger with chili on it, and he also had chili cheese fries. We added a order of onion rings as an app. It took I'd say about 15 minutes for our orders as there was a big order in front of ours. The meals came out to perfection. My burger was slightly pink in the middle and tasted great. I heard no complaints from anyone. Our server and another one kept checking on us regularly and topping off our drinks. We were offered desert however we all declined. I had to get back to work and they had more shopping to do. All in all is the meal I've come to expect from Surf Dogs and I'm looking forward to my next visit sometime soon. read more

Not what I had expected. Onion rings we're obviously cooked in old oil. Hot dog (Nathan's All Beef) was good. Wife unit was satisfied with her Cheeseburger - although they forgot the onion. Never been to one with such poor service, incredibly long wait times and untrained servers in their mid-teens that were clueless to customer service. Lots of people walked out due to the negligence and having to wait so long. I did look at some of the other reviews on here and noticed the owner responded to many of them. It appears that if he did not like your review, he replied with a personal attack. Maybe he should look at the collective responses and act on them to stay in business. It was a rare occasion in which I was craving a hot dog. I remembered seeing this place as I would venture to the grocery store in my new neighborhood. I stopped in a grabbed a hot dog with chili, cheese, and jalapeños. I haven't bought a hot dog in quite a while so I was surprised it was around $3.50 with no fries or anything, but it did satisfy my craving. It wasn't a foot long, but a normal sized dog. I would have preferred the jalapeños grilled, but that wasn't the menu item so something I would consider in the future. The place was clean and COVID precautions were in place. I ordered a small order of cheese fries. They made a mistake in making it with chili, so they remade it fresh only it wasn't brought to me until after I was finished with my burger. Unfortunately, I was not pleased with the cheese on top. They use finely shredded cheese. I prefer the melted cheese sauce over fries. Hubby had the cheeseburger with an egg on it and the onion rings. Our little one had the hot dog with fruit cup ( which was the pre packaged Dole cups).
