Toys and stuff, yay!…read more This place was a joy to browse in, and definitely worth a look if you're in the area. The cabinets on all the walls are full of toys, oddities, and apparel from all over the world. There's a room for coats and clothes, a small but nice selection of furry slippers and shoes, and there's a lovely table right in the middle with all kinds of jewelry, rings, bracelets, etc. There's a whole room in the back dedicated to South American stuff as well. My favorite part? The toys of course! Right when you enter the store, you're greeted by a cheery standing rack full of cuddly, furry animal hand puppets of all kinds, that just call out to be tried on and played with. Further in the back there are racks of respective finger puppets, and shelves full of pretty little beaded and wooden figures - both doll house types and these awesome string-controlled wooden puppets (not quite marionettes, since they're controlled from underneath). There was this awesome pair of scissors shaped like a bird, with the blades in the shape of a beak. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but oh well. Overall, the prices are very reasonable, especially some of the coats and clothing. Some of the small toys were a little too high in my opinion though. I mean, who in their right mind wants to pay five bucks for a tiny wooden flowerpot smaller than a pinky joint? Come on. The jewelry was very affordable though, and I bought myself a pretty silver ring as a souvenir for five bucks. Five bucks, you say? Aw shucks, I coulda gotten that flowerpot.

Still i think that the value of purchasing items that are from this location out weight the prices. Set in downtown Peterborough next to the Sharon Art center this location couldn't be better for this store. I equate this location to a 10,000 villages which I have come to love over the years. I would say best for there selection in jewelry, i don't see a ton of people paying their prices for clothing.

I loved both the shoes and the bag, but the leather on the sneakers began shredding in a number of places and the locking mechanism on the travel bag fell off and disappeared. I went in just to let them know about the issues, hoping I might be able to get a new locking mechanism and suggestions of how to care for the shoes. They replaced both without being asked. A great store that stands by their products. It pays to shop local.

The owner is patient and kind, spending as much time as necessary with customers to make sure they are completely satisfied. She is extremely knowledgeable and will order things if she doesn't have the perfect fit or size. I was very very uncomfortable to find what I believe is the owners adolescent grandSON lurking in the store with his mother. There was NO WAY I was going to have a fitting with a teen boy in the room. I thought to make an appt and perhaps have privacy but the owner has no clue how uncomfortable the situation is. A reality check is in order. I realize it is summer but that young man's presence was an absolute deal breaker. Why isn't he out goofing with his friends instead of hanging with mom at the bra store? Really really weird. The lack of insight may keep me away in perpetuity.

LOWEST QUALITY POLYESTER CLOTHING. In a clothing store wasteland like downtown Peterborough, NH,…read morewhere cheap, rough, synthetic fabric is the one option, there is nothing offered in this shop but the same poor selection: low-quality, synthetics which fall apart in the washing machine. A scarce few cotton pieces with dyeing errors are on the racks, but even those must be lined dried. The mark-up looks about 500%. Can't we do better? Must we drive two hours for well-made clothes that don't need line-drying and will last beyond four washings? And for any of us who are ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE CONSUMERS, these are exactly the clothing choices we should avoid, in favor of durable natural materials. We would like better options.

I had a plane to catch, so I breezed into the store (after taking a rainy photo for Yelp) and looked around for women's shoes. My initial scan showed me a handsome "older gent" (egads, maybe 55?) was leaning on his forearms against one of the shelves. The Marlboro Cowboy with a Sam Elliot on his upper lip, eyed me. (Inside, I thought, "hm, maybe he's wondering what a woman is doing in a store that sells workboots?") Then he said, "Can I help you with something?" And yes, yes, he could! He actually paid attention to what I said (black only, no copper rivets) and I chose two pairs of shoes in the space of four minutes ($59 and $89). When he moved around behind the cash register to ring me up, his colleagues (two other gents sans fancy facial hair) asked me, "How'd he do?" to which I responded with a shoulder shrug and a "meh" keeping in tradition with the reserve of New Hampshah. The gents smiled and mustache said, "they are trying to get rid of me because I'm too old." To this I replied, "they are just jealous because they can't grow a mustache like yours." (Heck, I'm a woman and I'm jealous!) Love the shoes. Love the stache. I'll be back next time I'm driving a pumpkin. And maybe... it'll be happily ever after.
