The last employee I spoke to said that he listens to people complaining about pain with their boots so often that, 'they (the staff) are numb to it'. Don't spend a penny here. They care about selling you a boot and could care less if the product actually works for you. Their philosophy is the customer doesn't know what they are talking about and they (the staff) will tell you when is 'it's good enough'. That approach is universal. Doesn't matter if you buy a shell and a footbed or have the top of the line foam custom build. I have gone back to them 1/2 dozen times to get my boots right over years and they still give me pain. I have heard every form of dismissal from this store ranging from 'keep skiing on it it will get better', 'you don't know how to ski', 'how many days are you up here anyway?', 'pain is a part of skiing' , my shell/footbed combo costing approx $700+ is 'their cheapest set-up so what did I expect from them?'. I was at Surefoot all day (again) and had the opportunity to observe their approach with other customers. Great service when you're getting fitted. Terrible if you have to come back to have them tweaked. A woman I sat next to dropped $1,500 3 days prior and missed 2 full days skiing because the boots didn't work. Another gentleman has spent years (literally since 2013) trying to get his $1,000 investment to work with countless hours of pain not to mention of the pain of dealing with this instead of enjoying vacations... and only this week is getting refitted! Another was saying quite explicitly that his left boot was giving him pain and the sales guy was literally talking him out of it suggesting that his feet were just tired from a day on the mountain, he should ice the hot spots and soar spots, ski on the boots again, and come back. The staff is condescending and patronizing at best and if you are woman be warned. I have not experienced such blatant chauvinism in years. My last experience in the store was so explicit that a customer that I did not know followed me out of the store to say that he had not seen anything so outrageous by any sales team and if it had been his wife, sister, mother aunt, cousin, daughter he might have gone to fists with the guy + certainly put in a call to the manager/owner (who was onsite and could care less about my experience and his staff's behavior). Surefoot's approach is to wear you out or push you off until your vacation is over and you can't commit any more time dealing with it. They have no intention of honoring their commitment to their customers (beyond punching and stretching ill fitted boots into oblivion) and they make the process so painful they don't have to. These guys are amazing and know their stuff. We brought 2 pairs of snowboard boots into a ski shop and they were able to help us out for both heel slip and tight toes. Josh and Martin were friendly, helpful, and even pointed us in the direction of beer. Definitely recommend this place and the people in it. read more

What an awesome experience! I've been a club ski racer my whole life, and have always enjoyed my Lange World Cup boots. These guys created a great atmosphere, and exceeded every expectation I had. A Very knowledgable staff. I worked directly with Tim. Custom foot beds were made, I never would have realized how necessary they were until just going for it! The foam injected liners have maximized my skiing experience, allowing so much more control and confidence throughout my turns on groomers, through trees, deep pow, and rutted terrain. They also fitted me with the newest Lange boot (: I highly recommend stopping in to see these guys. I would advise calling in advance just to make sure the shop isn't too packed. Terrible product & service. Foam keeps expanding inside the shell making it way too ridgid to ski hurting people's feet and ankles. 2 complaining customers next to me say the boot is too tight - sales people ignore them saying "break it in and it will be fine". High pressure sales to accept while they double or triple the price of the boot. If it doesn't fit they keep taking the boot behind a wall to cut the boot with a Dremel tool wrecking the inside of the boot or they use a hair dryer to bend the plasitc instead of fitting the right bolt in the first place. They get you on the slope so you have to accept that specific boot. They won't swap it after that - they can't sell a used boot. read more

Surefoot is the only company out there with the quality of custom products and guarantee. The shop in Squaw delivers them with very responsive service and knowledgeable staff. I wanted to make the most of the ski day, so I emailed the store manager Jeff Pratt in advance. He responded quickly to my email. In the shop he is clearly experienced, and I highly recommend working with him. I have to admit that my new boots fit great, but I had some painful spots at the end of the day. The shop is open until 6, so I went in to do the adjustment straight off the slope. Jeff was on it quick, and I am ready for my next outing. I expect to have go back a couple of times to get the fit just right, so I really value the service. read more

I bought a pair of boots for my daughter and myself. They didn't have the right shell for her but injected it anyway and promised to get another shell (the right size) but didn't manage to in the 5 days we were at whistler. Their lack of stock, mid-season, in my view,caused them to choose the wrong shells just to get the sale. The store was under staffed,the staffer was unorganized, muddled and erratic. The two boots cost $3000 K . We were back every three days in a row, the original sale person was never there! read more

My boots were really outdated and I had noticed that they were loose and I wasn't getting great control. I stopped into Surefoot and they were super informative and gave me an overview of the benefits of their boot setup without being pushy. Tim, the manager, ended up taking on my order and quickly scheduled me in for a boot fitting. The process was quick and easy and I was on my way in no time. Tim followed up with me the next week after I skied in the new boots and to make sure everything fit correctly and I was satisfied. I love how much more control the new boots give me and with the custom fit there was no painful break-in period. Absolutely worth the investment. read more

Drove over here from Truckee to get custom ski boots. Loved the foot analysis they do to see what your foot needs in your new boot. boot selection wasn't great, didnt like the options they showed me, 2 boots. Spent 20 minutes, then told to go away for an hour then come back for another hour to complete the process. I didnt go back. Ended up going to Elite Feet in Northstar and got customized boots in an hour and they are like slippers! read more

They did my last boots never fit correctly. Went in again and after waiting 90 minutes their was no clear indication when they might decide to wait on me. At an average price of $1200 for their boots you'd think they would have some minimal level of customer service. There are many better options in Tahoe. read more

I bought my boots here 12 years ago in 2004. They are the first pair of comfortable ski boots I ever owned. I have high arches and other issues that are a problem with regular boots. Last year I started to get an issue with pressure on my ankle bone. I returned to the store. They enthusiastically worked on my boot to address the problem at no charge. Looks like a good fix but I have to wait until the black out dates on my pass are over before giving it a good test. read more

Great! No one beats the quality here. GREAT products and GREAT service. The lifetime fit guarantee is just plain awesome. I've gone in there twice for tweaks even with 100+ days on the boots, and got immediate and awesome help. My only negative comment is that it is expensive, but it is worth it! read more
