Like I don't think they have a ventilation system. They propped the front door open which sucks when it's cold out and you feel the cold air while eating. The service still sucks. We had to track down servers several times to order more food, get water, change the grill, etc. they never cleared any old plates. They turned into a byob so we just brought some beers from Whole Foods next door. Price was 29.99 for adults and charged my kids $18.95. If you have a kid under 3 ft tall they're free. read more

I've been to Surah before but it seems that they changed to just AYCE with a normal option (set B) at $33.95 and premium option (set A) at $44.95. For what you get, set A is much more worth it from the beef options alone. To start off, it was a slower Sunday but there were still several parties inside at around 6PM. We were seated quickly, served the banchan quickly, and had our order taken quickly. There was only one waitress and she seemed to be quick and efficient with her service. The meat was much better quality than most AYCE kbbq we'd find in Philly and it was worth the 45-60 minute drive. We ordered many different cuts of beef and in large quantities, my favorites being the galbi and filet mignon. Oh dear. I will give them a star for effort but I left smelling like cooked meat. Like to eat it, not smell like it. LOL I came by for dinner with some friends and discovered that they do not sell alcohol although the website amd onsite menu state otherwise. We did make a reservation but they had no record of it and since we were there early in the evening, we had no issue finding a table. The cook your own food at the table is an interesting and likely fun approach, but there is absolutely no ventilation to remove the smoke. Imagine all grills in use at the same time! It has been awhile since I have eaten at this restaurant. Overall experience was good. I had a party of 6 adults and 4 kids and 1 baby. Party of 6 automatically included 18% gratuity on the check. Children under 3 feet are free and the other kids were $16+ for the package A all you can eat. Their meat quality wasn't bad, but I did eat at other korean bbq place that has juicier meat. They do have a good meat selection for their buffet style kbbq. I even tried their octopus, which was not bad either. We ordered two orders of fried dumplings and the all you can eat with the BBQ. Vog took charge of the grill. I had bulgogi, chicken, pork/bacon, and rice etc. The staff was really friendly and accommodating, talking shop about Korean BBQ with Vog and the places he has been etc. we really were vibing, and I wish we had more time to eat more etc but we wanted to be respectful given them making an exception for us coming later than usual. This review is about their lunch menu, not AYCE. Highly recommend their daily lunch special from 11-2pm. Pro tip: for dine in only from 11-2pm, they have galbitang (beef rib soup) for only $10. It's a very hearty beef soup that comes with 2 large beef ribs, radish and vermicelli noodles, alongside a small but tasty selection of side dishes, with unlimited refills. Another highlight is their homemade pan fried dumplings -- the meat and veggies inside are seasoned well and go perfectly with the sweet soy dipping sauce. The interior is a bit lacking and dark but the food quality and flavors totally make up for it. My family and I came here for my dad's 70th birthday. At the VERY last minute they accommodated us with a private room. I highly recommend asking to reserve a private room when you book, if it's a large and/or special party occasion. The service was excellent. The servers kept helping us change out the grills and bringing more and varied meats. There was something for the whole family here, from toddler to adult. I was a little skeptical of this restaurant when we arrived. There is NO ventilation above any of the tables where the smoke can go, so that was concerning. Because of this, the restaurant doesn't feel very clean. However, the food was good! We got the more expensive all-you-can eat package. I got the soup that was veggies and noodles in a dashi broth (can't remember the name). It wasn't very hot when it came out, but I liked the flavor. We've been here twice now and had excellent experiences both times. It's near the Whole Foods. Servers very friendly and atmosphere is nice. For large groups they have private room seating We did all you can eat combo B. It was $26 per person and left us well satisfied. We like the beef chadol, bulgogi and pork belly. We drive over 30 minutes to come to Surah's Korean bbq. The food is delicious! We get the All You Can Eat and this most recent visit we tried the bibimbap too. So good!! My children 14, 12 and 8 all love the galbi the most and have fun getting to cook their own food. First time here and it definitely will not be my last. I came here for my older brother birthday dinner and we chose Option B. The meat was tasty and we all had a great time. We had a private room and there was two grills and we had endless little appetizers served in a small saucer. The meat was great I loved the Pork Belly and other meats they had. It also comes with lettuce if you want and white rice and a spicy salad. Everything was delicious and you definitely cant beat the price. I will be back with my friends and family soon. The private room we had was big but I think the room should be a little bit bigger since the waiters are always coming in and out and do not have enough space to move. They change the grills about three to four times because the grills get black and hard to cook on. Staff is super nice and if we needed anything they were right there and got it right away. A suggestion for the water is to get bigger cups for the water so the waiters are not running back and forth to get water pitchers for us every five minutes. read more

Boy oh boy! This place is fairly expensive ($31) per person for all you can eat and all parties must eat the same type of meal. BUT... Some of their meats... really top notch! Like their steaks and sweet bulgogi!!! We had the pork belly bulgogi (sweet and spicy), galbi, premium steaks.. so many other things my stomach couldn't fit. You order as you go instead of the meat sitting out there which is really great! Question is.. would I pay that much to come back? I came here after reading very similar reviews of saying the service was terrible and it takes forever to get your food. I wanted to see and judge for myself. I came here on a Saturday night with no reservations. Waited about 25 minutes. I was hangry but the manager kept coming up to me reassuring me I would be seated shortly. I appreciated this so I knew he hadn't completely forgot about me. The second we sat down I ordered because I was studying the menu during those 25 minutes. We went with the BBQ buffet for 22 a person because the 30 just doesn't seem that worth it to me. The only thing was there's only one beef option on the 22 person one, which was thinly sliced brisket. I was craving the prime rib bone but oh well. 1. The service was pretty fast! Everything we ordered came out promptly. The waiter was friendly and attentive. 2. The naengmyun was amazing! I've had it at multiple places lately, Seorabol, Kim's BBQ and H Mart but honestly, it's so good here! I'm a hugeeee fan of the broth and the tastes in the bowl 3. I am a fan! I'll be writing in present tense since I have enough time to do so in between our food being brought out (or lack thereof) or receiving any attention whatsoever from our server/waiter. It's my first time here on a Saturday night and it's definitely jammed packed and the service level has noticeably dropped as well. Perhaps it's our particular server -because I've had tremendous service here before- but our table is rarely being checked up on, I have to keep flagging down this guy to ask for something as simple as a water or an order refill. Currently our grill has not been changed once since we got here and none of our dishes have been taken away so I'm out here grillin' on a crusty grill trying to figure out how to maneuver around this table . Oh and when I just followed up on our order refill, I was met with substantial attitude, "What's your order? I have like ten thousand orders here." Bro, you have like 10 orders at best, chill out. The first time I came here was for a birthday party for my brother in law. He found this place on yelp a few months ago and we can't get enough of this place. The place is located in a shopping center. Right next to Giant in Springhouse. FOOD- amazing!! we get to cook the meats the way we like it. We order the spicy pork belly, spicy bulgogi, chadol. Spicy pork belly and Spicy bulgogi are my favorite.I eat the korean bbq by cooking the meat first and then preparing my lettuce wrap. I put a little bit of rice in my lettuce wrap and then put the beef in it and then roll it up and eat it. There is also small sides that come with the dinner as well. I love the macaroni salad, it is just a small side but it is endless. SERVICE- could be better, all the servers are overlooking ALL the tables. My suggestion would be to have one server looking over 2 or 3 tables rather than running back and forth from the kitchen. I usually come with a big crowd and every time we come we ask for more water. The water is in a small container and the water glasses are pretty small. When we ask for something it takes longer than normal and also sometimes our waiter or waitress forgets what we ordered. My wife's family and I come here often and I consider ourselves regulars. However, we understand that they are busy just hope they work out the kinks since this place is always busy on the weekends. Busy means this is a good place to eat and we will continue to spread the word about this place, just hope that it gets better service or they hire more people to cover more tables. Still searching for a good kbbq spot and this spot was pretty average. The place was hidden by the end of a shopping center - right next to Giants but the sign is pretty small. It is harder to spot at night. Service was good. When we first walked in, I noticed the place isn't well ventilated so be prepared for the kbbq smoke to hit you when you first walk in. They had a decent amount of meat selections on the menu and a two stews that you can choose from. There was a mushroom/veggie stew and tofu soon dubu. Both are good. The bon chons that they served was okay - except for the kimchi and the pickled cucumbers. They tasted way too sour, almost bitter in a way. I know it's fermented and they're suppose to have a sour/vinegary taste. But the taste of the kimchi was pretty bad in my opinion. I love kimchi and I judge a restaurant based on how they make the kimchi. The kimchi definitely was disappointing. All in all, I would not come here again. Stopped in for lunch. No one was at the front. We waited for like 15 min and no one came. We called and then got hung up. Eventually someone came out and just sat us. Then when we tried to get him to take our order, he just looked at us. Eventually he came over. Been here more than a few times now since It's the only local joint with all you can eat Korean BBQ (in the suburbs of Philadelphia). The food is ok here. I usually get the option B since it's cheaper and I just need the chadolbagi (thin sliced beef cuts) and pork belly. They give you steamed eggs if you ask for it as well and the soup that come with option B are good enough for the price. I got menu A a couple times but the main attraction of that menu (marinated short ribs) are not worth the cost for me. If I was going to have short ribs, I would rather go travel further to get it. It's way too sweet here. There are also many other things on menu A but, I'm a creature of habit when it comes to Korean BBQ so I don't deviate from my favorites much. The owner is very nice and if the place isn't crazy packed (which they do get once a while) then he'll take care of you personally. He loves for his customers to take pictures and post them on social media so do him the favor if you like. read more

I'm going to go ahead and say it... This is now one of my favorite AYCE KBBQ spots in all of the East Coast and especially the Philly region... I've been to all of them. For me, when picking an AYCE place, you've gotta decide what your priorities are. Quality? Quantity? Are you there for meats or having a huge selection available? The best part about this place for me was the quality of Kalbi and Pork Belly. A lot of places have both, but in most cases, the cut is cheap or poorly marinated such that while you can eat your money's worth, you get bored of it because it isn't that tender. I found their Kalbi to be the most tender I've had at an AYCE place in recent memory. Their Pork Belly is also a generously thick cut and very tender. The Filet Mignon was very good, but I don't find it to be the best cut of meat for KBBQ. Also, prepare to do the Option A. The other choice doesn't have most of the meat choices you're probably there for. I would have liked to have seen more banchan or appetizer choices... or perhaps add a side dish walk-up buffet. read more
