05/15/2026 The moment I stepped into this store, a staff member greeted my friend and me right away. He was really friendly, and it was just such a great way to start our shopping trip. Standing at the front, the layout of the store felt really open. As we continued to walk around and browse, another staff member greeted us, asked if we were looking for anything in particular, and told us where we could find the clearance section because there were some good items on sale. They did have some cute kitchen items on sale, leftover from Easter and Mother's Day. Separately, I saw a whole section of items with a beautiful orchid design. I ended up getting a large kitchen linen with the orchids on it as a gift. Everything in the store always looks high quality, and I love shopping there! read more

We purchased this knife 2 months ago and kept it in great care. Hand washed and kept it in a dedicated padded drawer. It chipped cutting some meat (bones). Sur La Table said they would not help and we had to go to the manufacturer. The manufacturer wanted us to pay in full for repair, plus shipped of the knife before they would look at it. This was a premium knife that wasn't cheap and the support from Sur La Table is disappointing. An almost identical knife is available at Costco and I wish I had purchased it from them instead. Wow. What a fun night making pasta from Scratch with.Chef Lanie. And Jackie and Ryan. The group of strangers 17 bonded together quickly under the guidance of chef lanie to form a Chohesive group. The salad and beef bolognese and Paletta egg raviolis was like a 5 star restaurant. Everyone worked together in 2. Hours. I would recommend this activity to learn new skills and have fun. I took the croissant class with Chef Lanie recently and had a blast! Croissants always seemed a bit intimidating but after this class, I feel fairly confident that I could bake them at home. We did a savory croissant (Gruyère and leeks), a sweet croissant (pan au chocolate), and laminated dough. The recipes were straightforward and the hands on learning really helped to make things clear. Chef Lanie was a great teacher and the end products were so delicious!! Pretty bad cooking class. I did - Date Night: New England Coastal Classics and for $200 we could've gone to a really nice dinner and done the same meal on YouTube. Bread was premade for us, the cut lobster was unevenly split between 4 people. You don't get a chair to eat, and the work is split so you aren't cooking with your partner, you're mainly making conversation with the other people there. To top it all off the portion sizes were laughable, alcohol isn't allowed and they ran out of ice cream for dessert so only 4 people got it out of 16... how do you not have ingredients for a preplanned class? read more

We got a Moccamaster coffee maker and help took 5 minutes to get. Workers don't have uniforms when we were there so it made getting help slow and awkward. The good thing is that we got cappuccino / espresso samples for free. They have lots of culinary supplies and they had the specialty coffee maker we were looking for. read more

Last night, my husband and I celebrated our anniversary with an Indian cooking class! We absolutely loved it! We learned lots about cooking and had a great time. Meeting new friends cooking together.! They offer a big variety of cookie classes throughout the week from French pastries to holiday cooking classes and lots of other ones! The teachers were absolutely incredible and so was the food that we cooked! We will definitely be taking more classes soon. We took a Saturday afternoon cooking class and learned to make dim sum. There were nine people in the class and we worked as two teams, chopping, preparing, etc. I liked my fellow classmates. The class itself was very enjoyable and I liked the instructor, Chef Jen. She has a lot of experience and did a lot of explaining that helped. She showed the ingredients and their brand names and told us where we could buy them (Asian markets). She entertained questions happily and we ended up with great results. Very tasty pork bun, shrimp dim sum and chicken something that I do not recall the name. The reason I gave this only three stars has nothing to do with Chef Jen. It has to do with no seats in the classroom. It was difficult for me to stand up for 2.5 hours, perhaps because I am 74 years old. Please keep this in mind before you book if you are older. My fellow students didn't seem to have any issues, so great for them. This is the reason I wouldn't book here again. It is also a problem to park at Kierland. You have to drive and search and drive and search; I usually do not think it's worth it. read more

This Sur La Table cooking class for Korean BBQ was a huge letdown. The classroom was overcrowded, making it hard to move, see, or participate meaningfully. The staff seemed overwhelmed and were surprisingly unfriendly--barking instructions at participants like we were unruly kids. It created an uncomfortable, tense atmosphere from the start. The instructor didn't use a mic, so with all the background noise and the crowd size, it was almost impossible to hear what was going on. The setup didn't help either--there was a camera pointed at the main cooking station, but all it showed was the backs of people's heads. If you weren't in the front row, good luck seeing anything. The group format also meant there was very little actual hands-on cooking. Most of us ended up just watching, not really learning or enjoying the process. There was no real chance to prep, cook, and enjoy the meal as promised. Honestly, it felt like a chaotic, poorly managed demo--not an immersive cooking class. I expected something far more professional and enjoyable for the price. Would not recommend. read more

As a baker, I was very excited to check out the store and browse it was my first time coming to this location. However, upon arrival and shopping in the store, I would just like to say the staff were not very friendly at all. No one acknowledged me at all during my shopping experience. No one asked if I needed any help or had any questions. I said good morning to a couple of the staff and got a very quiet response or even a grunt. It's just really disappointing and it ruined the overall experience for me. I would not recommend shopping here. I would recommend going to Crate & Barrel they were so kind to me and helped me with all of my purchases. Checked online for an appliance and while they said there was two in stock, the staff was not interested in looking for it more than a few minutes. I picked up other items but placed them back since they don't care to make a sale. I stood around thinking they would look but ignored me and the other customers. This was our second experience with Sur La Table. The first time they cancelled our class with no notification to us. This time I called ahead to specifically check that the class was still on and to ask if we were allowed to bring a bottle of wine to go with dinner, as they don't serve alcohol. We were told on the phone "oh yes you can take wine! You can take one bottle per two people, we provide the glasses and bottle openers!" Great! NOT! When we arrived with a bottle of wine we were informed that you cannot have wine and so we had to take it back to the car. This should be more specific on their website. It also says on the website that they have tea, water, soda to drink with your meal and all they had was a little water on the side of the room. Two of our chefs helpers called out sick so it was a bit chaotic, very unorganized, and definitely way too large of a class. There were 14-16 people and 3 stations. Then trying to have everyone crowd around the stove top to learn and cook was ridiculous. We just felt like we were in the way the whole time. Also, you stand the entire time even to eat your meal. I would've thought they could've brought out some stools or something so you could enjoy your food sitting at your station. I was expecting to stand for the entire class, just not to eat. Was really disappointed with our experience here. They didn't have enough cooking stations, so they sat us at a table in the back. Only one person from our table was invited to participate at the front while the rest of us just watched. We could hardly see anything from the back either. We got to press out dough with very little instruction from the instructor. Also, the aprons they provided smelled like puke. Sur La Table can't afford a linen service or to replace old aprons? It felt like the attendees at the front stations got the full experience while others were left out. Terrible Terrible customer service. I walked in to pick up an online order this evening. I walked in very excited, as I also work in the Kierland Mall and it's always nice to visit the other stores and meet the workers. As much as I would hate to think this is happening, I've seen multiple people of color write reviews with similar experiences of how they have felt unwelcome here. I immediately was met with an attitude and a level of unwelcomeness I have truly never experienced before. When i said I was there for a pick up order Tracy asked for my name and I when I told her she became ruder with every clarifying question "c or k" "okay well what's your first name" when i explained it was my first name she just walked off rudely and I was just left at the desk so confused. The other person working at the desk who saw the interaction just avoided eye contact with me and said nothing while I sat there waiting for Tracy to come back. When she Tracy came back she told me they were sold out and I was supposed to get an e-mail saying they canceled the order, I did not get an email. I genuinely am not even upset that something I preordered ended up being out of stock or that the company took the $75 out of my account even though they cancelled the order. I am significantly more upset on why anyone would think that's any way to treat anyone especially people coming in to buy things. This was a place I was so excited about especially the cooking classes and had even talked to my coworkers about doing a cooking class as team bonding activity since we're also in the mall but I truly would not feel comfortable coming back here again. read more

We did the croissant cooking class here!! It was amazing and so much fun! Only a few critiques- there is A LOT to learn. I think we went over on time and while it was enlightening and we were working the whole time, it was exhausting! You could probably cut this class down to two croissants instead of three. Also it seemed like they over sold the class. My mom and I had to be at the instructor table (which ended up letting us do more things) but it was a little ofd and we felt like the outcasts at the beginning. I would go again and take another class! CUSTOMER SERVICE????? THEY clearly have NO idea what that means... As a gift, my son and daughter in law gave us a cooking class at Sur La Table. Unfortunately, we were ill and I called in spoke with a manager, I believe named Michael who actually should be running the store rather than the irresponsible, rude store manager I spoke with who on two occasions assured me she would get right back to me, as I never received the credit for the class, she did not get back to me and left me hanging. I had to resolve the issue myself by calling a customer service number and find out what was going on. I spoke in depth with customer service, and asked to speak to the store managers boss, as if she is handling me like this, I can assure you there's others. I was PROMISED a call back in 24 hours, didnt surprise me that call was NEVER returned either. I use to be a very good customer there, by all the gifts I needed for weddings, anniversaries etc. However, I WILL NO LONGER step foot into Sur La Table because of the lack of care they have for their customers. With the Fashion Square store closing obviously says something about their business dropping off, and the way they treat their customers I can see that they won't be around for much longer.....a retail operation can have incredible things, however Id rather go to a store that treats me with respect and follows through with what they say they are going to. I believe the store managers name was Candace and after hiring people for over 25 years, there is NO way I would ever put her in a position of importance as she didnt not follow through on anything she told me she would and has no care for how customers are treated and are disrespected. (she should learn from her ast manager who followed through and at least did what he said) but the ball was dropped and rather than issuing a gift card to us they credited my sons charge without even communicating that. It wasn't what we were told would happen, however, I am very happy this was done because I certainly will never give them any business ever again. I like to focus on the positives and most my reviews are very positive but, people need to be aware of the negative issues as well, as if you are planning one having a great experience, if you are dealing with the store manager, dont count on it! read more

I made a complete lap around store and was never once greeted. Staff was more concerned with stocking shelves.

We took the Indian Cuisine cooking class at Sur La Table and unfortunately, it was a pretty chaotic experience. The concept is great and we loved chatting with the other guests--that part was the highlight. But the staff and flow of the class left a lot to be desired. The instructor was kind but definitely needed a mic or a better way to give clear instructions. It was hard to follow what was happening, and there wasn't much structure. Meanwhile, the two other staff members were rushing around cleaning mid-class like they couldn't wait for it to end. One of them seemed to be training a new hire, the one training the new hire came off very cold and uninviting. It really impacted the vibe. It probably would've worked better if all three staff had just taught the class together--each running a station--and saved the cleanup for after. As it was, it felt scattered and unwelcoming. That said, we were seated with a group who had taken many classes before and even worked there--and they all said this wasn't typical. So we're hoping it was just an off night. We'd consider giving it another shot, because the store and the concept are great. Just hoping for a smoother experience next time. read more

Attended a Thai cooking class on 6/20 as a group of 4. Upon entering the kitchen - we were told to make sure our hands were clean, put on apron, and PAIR up at the table around a single knife and cutting board. I thought I paid the $95 to individually participate in class - not to pair up with someone else - seems like this is really expensive to be required to pair up. The only teaching that was done during the class was a 5 minute "knife skills" portion while everyone watched. Pretty boring - if you can't cut along with the chef (plus you had to share the knife and cutting board with your "partner") The cooking room has no chairs, 2 metal work stations (8 people around each one) and the only option for a drink was some water in a plastic cup. Overall, the teachers were very unengaging and did not seem to want to be there. During the entire 90 minute class (scheduled for 2 hours), there was a staff member who was continually walking through the group in order to get the dishes clean so that they could leave promptly when the class was done (8:30 pm). The room is too small - to try and cram 16 people around a single 4 burner cooktop for the "active participation" portion of the cooking class. The cooktop is also right next to the sink - so the person that was continually pushing her way through the group to wash dishes - became very annoying to the entire group. At the end - there was some type of coconut/lemon sorbet served - but somebody had forgotten to close the door on the freezer (or it was late to be prepared??) and the sorbet was warm and an absolute soup. Disgusting!! Guessing that the total food cost was less than $100 - so we paid $100 each for less than $10 of food, while not learning a single thing during the class!! Each of the 4 people in our group became sick after attending the class - and have vowed to never repeat a Sur La Table cooking class. The class was poorly run, the food was disgusting, no place to sit and eat your dinner, nothing to drink (other than water) during the class, no real education took place, and the employees just seemed to want to get out on a Friday night. Every single person working there was RUDE! They were literally setting up for another event while our class was going out. The cleaning and prep staff kept asking us to move, and we were in the way! Are you kidding me?! We spent $100 per person to be here, and you're telling us to move. We literally were trying to stand around the cooking area ... which the Chef told us to do. A minimum of 5 times the prep staff said "we need to clean, you need to move". Excuse me? Ever heard of please and thank you. Ever heard of any manners whatsoever. I will never go back. I've taken cooking classes there and found that their kitchen is dirty and the chefs are uneducated. So many chefs have quit that it's like a revolving door. Chef told us that they didn't have the correct ingredients for the class that they were teaching. I'd much rather spend my money and time at a cooking school where you can actually sit down to eat. My wife and I did a date night with a stop at adjacent The Mission for cocktails and then a cooking class at Sur La Table, and that's what this review is about. What a great experience! We learned how to prepare a four course meal with desert. Chef had prepared some of the minutiae before we arrived and was an excellent teacher. I mean look, I'm a dude that likes to grill burgers, brats, chickens and steaks, and I like to try different things on my smoker. All that is done in my back yard, and I feel at home there. I don't feel at home in the kitchen. I have a hard time following instructions when I have to read from a recipe and it's not fun for me. Sur La Table, on the other hand, made it feel like a lot of fun essentially learning how to prepare a multi-course dinner with dessert. I felt like I learned a lot, and had a wonderful time doing it. And in the end we ate what we created and it was all really delicious! But most importantly, my wife and I had a great date night and really enjoyed doing this together. We will 100% do it again and I can't recommend it enough for a couple looking for something different to do for date night. read more

Disappointed! Earlier this year, I took a pasta making class, which I enjoyed. A few months later, my husband and I took a date night class. Again, enjoyable. But I do feel the set-up is difficult. It's really hard to get everyone around the cooking area and to be involved in the actual cooking. Around Thanksgiving, I signed up for another class, but then received a call the day before indicating that due to an issue with the ovens, they were cancelling the class and I'd be refunded. I did get that refund, but reached out to Customer Service as I'd also used a $20 Rewards card at the time of booking which was now expired. I was instructed that they would do a "one time" exception and honor the $20 rewards as long as I purchased something within the next 10 days, and that I had to do it by calling to purchase. I decided to schedule another holiday cooking class for Dec. 17. I arrived for the class and that's when I learned that once again the class had been cancelled due to water damage. Understandable. But myself and two other ladies who had also shown up were told that calls had been made days prior and that refunds had already been issued. None of us had received calls and I informed them that I had not received a refund. The person we spoke to, who I assume was a manager, took down our names and numbers and said she'd have the Chef call us. I've yet to receive a phone call and it took 2 emails to Customer Service to get the refund processed. And I'm still out the $20 rewards that I had earned. Just overall very disappointed. I'm not sure I'll sign up for another class at this point. I really enjoy cooking and this was a treat for me to take these classes and learn new things. But between the price increase and the last 2 needing to be cancelled, I'm just not sure it's worth it to try again. read more

The cooking class was something fun and different to do and I think I would do it again. There is room for improvement tho. The class was way too big, 16 people. 1/2 the class barely did anything. Some friends and I booked this class hoping for a fun night out together, and to get some new cooking ideas. What we didn't expect was to be disrespected and made to feel unwelcome by the "chef" who was unorganized, unclear on her instructions, and condescending if we dared to ask a question. I think she forgot that we were paying customers and not schoolchildren. By the end of the class we were all afraid of her and didn't dare ask a question. Besides the unprofessional instructor, there are no stools provided so you will be standing in place for a couple of hours and if you are thirsty you will get the teeniest paper cup of water....bring a beverage! The instructor did much of the recipe preparation before we arrived, and insisted on cooking our meat even though we were supposed to do so, so we really didn't get to "cook": merely chopped a few items and listened to how she had prepared everything. The food was tasty in the end, and that was really the only bright spot to the night. But for $99 each, we could have enjoyed a lovely meal in a nice restaurant somewhere!
