Ordered from the online store... paid the express shipping fee which was quite expensive because I have a birthday celebration to go to and this was a birthday gift. My "gift" was scheduled to arrive this past Saturday... its now Monday and they tell me " quite possibly" it will arrive tomorrow - Tuesday. They also told me that they cant refund the EXPRESS shipping fee because it has already been processed? I wanted to support C & B ( over Amazon ) but once again the failed to live up to their promise ! I will never order online from Crate and Barrel ever again. HORRIBLE customer service. Top 3 worst shopping experiences of my life. Store employees are literally everywhere, but NO ONE offered to help me and my husband. Finally one of them noticed we were carrying a ridiculous amount of items (because the whole concept here is that you collect items and bring them to the front for them to hold - not very practical, but OK). We said yes, we're looking for help deciding on which wood cutting boards we should get. She then got very frazzled, pointed us in the opposite direction of where the cutting boards were located, and told us she would be right with us after she finished ringing someone up (fyi - there was no one at the counter to ring up, and she had just approached us asking if we needed help). So after about 15 minutes of waiting around for her to come help us, we gave up and asked someone else to help. She called over someone else. This someone else takes us to the cutting boards we had been looking at, we ask her the differences between the various types of wood - she has no clue, so calls someone else over to help us. This someone also has zero knowledge, so my husband and I ended up using Chat GPT to answer our questions. I have no idea why this store employs so many people when they all stand around congregating with each other, not helping customers, and then when someone finally does make themselves available, they are totally useless if you ask any questions. Normally I prefer to do my shopping in person, but this experience was so unbearable it makes me wish I had just ordered everything online and gone in to return what I didn't like. The only reason I would ever go back to this store would be to return an online purchase. read more

Terrible customer service. I had set up my registry with Crate and Barrel because they are supposed to have "quality" products and customer service. After my guests poured thousands of dollars into my registry at Crate and Barrel I reached out about a concern regarding $170 sheets that tore like paper after not even using them for more than 6 months. The associate I spoke with was rude and cold who just said that the return policy was 30 days and wasn't going to be able to do anything for me, so I asked for the manager. After some time on hold, I spoke to someone named Brie who also kept regurgitating the same semantics and incorrectly telling me it's been over a year since my guest purchased this gift for me... which it technically hadn't been. I then learned that she wasn't even the manager... so not only do they not care about your business or standing behind their supposed "quality" overpriced products, the manager, Crista, couldn't even be bothered to speak with me after asking for her. Really? We gave your business thousands of dollars and you couldn't even, in good faith, trade out the faulty sheet that tore like cheap paper or create a case to escalate this to corporate? They treated me like i didn't have money or a reason to be their .. i will never step foot in their again.. i came into shop for silver wear im new to the are and moved to the Quincy .. a woman was about to ask me if i needed help..& the second she opens her mouth another customer interjected .. then i went upstairs and asked a lady with a bob for help and she said oh that's down stairs and proceeded walking i thanked her for not helping.. but she said thanks and misunderstood that I wasn't giving her a compliment and I just ended up walking out. We attended a registry event at Crate & Barrel Kierland Commons yesterday and it was such a great experience! The sales associates were beyond helpful, and accommodating. I wish I noted All their names to include, but they were honest about products, and really listened to what we were looking for. When purchasing items at the Crate & Barrel (store#553)in Kierland Commons in Scottsdale/Phoenix, I used a gift card. The amount over the GC was $4.16. I attempted to pay the balance in cash. They would not accept cash at that register and Carol, the associate, informed me there was only 1 register in the store that accepted cash. I asked where the signage was that told the customers cash could or could not be used. She said they didn't have any and this 'new system' was supposed to help streamline the checkout process. Brie the manager was brought over, because if Carol voided the transaction and moved me to the cash register, I would lose the balance of my gift card. Brie said she could refund the GC but it could take 5 minutes or up to 2 days(!!!) in her experience. I was forced to use a credit card for that minor amount or potentially roll the dice and wait up to 2 days to make a purchase. Why are people that use cash treated like 2nd class citizens at Crate & Barrel? Only 1 register in the store that accepts cash??!! Apparently this has happened many times as both the associate and manager said this was the 'new system' and there wasn't anything to do about it and they also had communicated to corporate signage was needed but nothing was done. Shame on you Crate & Barrel for treated cash customers like 2nd class and shame on you for not listening to your front line associates and making tweaks on your 'new system'. A few of the other guys had a minor breakdown when she walked away to show us other machines from their newest machine but I quickly jumped in to say she was showing us how to use their newest Breville machine, along with a sample of the coffee. read more

This business has been one of my favorites when I was a customer and then because I love it so much, I ended up working for them as a part time associate when I was living in Bellevue, Washington. The reason for this is not only they provide exceptional customer service but also offer many options of items you need to run your household.... From napkins to furniture! Terrible service. Placed an order on 09/01 for several items. I was told they needed to be shipped from the warehouse to the store for pickup. I agreed and we paid in full for the items. Today, 5 days later, when I check the status of my order, it showed it was picked up the same day as I ordered it. When I called to find out what happened, I was informed the sales associate who took the order didn't "backfill it" (whatever that means, she kept using that phrase as if it means anything to me) and therefore, our items were never even actually ordered even though we paid. C&B's system showed we picked them up in the store. Uhh... what? Had I not followed up for these items, they would have just assumed it was fulfilled and the order was closed. The person I spoke with who corrected the issue kept repeating it was a simple "human error" while downplaying the significance. Charging someone for items and then not shipping or delivering said item is a pretty big error. Sales associate "fixed" the issue by actually ordering it this time, which should have been done 5 days ago (gee, thanks!) but offered nothing else beyond this for the inconvenience. We have another item being shipped to us (nursery chair) that we paid $120 in shipping for. Would have been nice for her to offer to refund the shipping on that item since they screwed up this order. *Edit* I tried contacting customer service via chat as suggested by Jeremy below and I spent 50 minutes trying to get someone to help only to be told that they can't do anything right now. Even more frustrated now. This is absurd for a company of this size and that generated $1.6 BILLION in revenue in 2023. Complete joke and won't be spending another dime here. read more

They sent on email a different code, current) I purchased an $800 stroller, and they refused to apply a discount. They say it is not for all items, not for 3rd party delivery, that I should have searched further on their site for all their disclaimers. I call it false advertising. I ordered a wedding gift on 10/6-I inadvertently put my address as send to instead of actual recipient. Within 30 minutes I called their customer service and asked for gift to be rerouted. I was told it was already in system and could not get address change- I think that is really pretty bad customer service. I spoke at length with rep who contacted his manager and they would try to help me with this. They also said I'd hear from them in 3-4 business days. I gave address it should have gone to. I never heard back from them and of course received the package today. Now I will have to spend more money to ship this item. This was a delightfully merchandised store with delightful employees. My 17-year-old loves home decor and she's thinking of being an interior designer so I asked an employee what age they hired at and the diligent employee talked to the manager and talked to a teenager employee and give us the answer: 16. She told us they get a 30% discount, and was just overall very friendly. The store was clean and well laid out and had tempting, tempting merchandise. Everything from patio furniture to silverware, wineglasses, baby room furniture, (a stuffed avocado for your baby!) Insta pot. Stop in and browse, they will be right there to help you but leave you alone to enjoy. read more

YE W was awesome last night at C&B Kierland, AZ! She was a pro using the CAD design program and entered in not only our condo floor plan with dimensions, but our flooring, wall color, windows and completely recreated the space to help us visualize our options. Rather than going home and discussing everything over a glass of wine - we made our purchases within 90 minutes of meeting Ye. She sent us home with hardcopy paperwork with her business card attached and followed up with emails of our plans - which are amazing and we're so excited! read more

Brides to be, don't register with Crate & Barrel! My daughter ordered many of her wedding gifts through them, and one package did not arrive. Crate & Barrel can't provide any proof of delivery. The ring camera that day shows no delivery at any time that day. But they would not consider that. Their response is to file a police report! So bad. read more

This Crate & Barrel is one of their two level versions, with a large display of furniture upstairs. It also is a nice compliment to the Pottery Barn across in Scottsdale Quarter. Since I work nearby, we're always stopping here to browse after a Starbucks run. The staff is incredibly nice and very helpful. They will go out of their way to order, or call another store to find any out of stock item for you. Then of course is their world class wrapping. I know this might seem trivial compared with the high end retailers found in Kierland, but it is especially true for Crate & Barrel. Nothing has ever broken in a bag they pack, no matter how fragile. When I moved here, I had to find a C&B fast to get my new home set up. I found excellent service in both Keirland Commons and Fashion Square. But, I've come to expect nothing less from this company! We have been searching for a perfect wall / media system. After an exhaustive search we landed at Crate and Barrel and scored! We wanted modern, but with a nod to Mid-Century and we needed functional with storage galore. After a full lap around the store, we surprised ourselves by falling for a lovely wood system that was decidedly not the unit we were coming in to see. Ye was our sales person- and she is outstanding! Amazing balance of allowing us to explore and making sure we could quickly find her for questions. She was comfortably amusing, knowledgeable and empathetic so we felt she actually HEARD us and matched our personality with the best solutions. I know that sounds a little trippy, but I am in sales, so I don't need to be sold myself - I just need to know what my options are and she provided MORE than that. Plus she made me giggle ...loved the whole experience. FURTHER, we changed our mind. We purchased a shelving unit that might end up being too wide, so we called customer service and swapped it out quickly and easily. EXCELLENT SERVICE! Unfortunately I am no longer certain how to get assistance as my request to speak with the store manager, Cameron, hasn't been fulfilled despite promises from the representatives who answer the calls at the store. Here's what's going on. January 2 2020 my wife and I order roughly $10,000.00 worth of furniture; a couch and a bed. We were told the couch, custom, would be ready at the end of February and the bed, April. My wife and I were okay with that as we were building a new home. End of February comes and we were called and told the couch was ready. We scheduled delivery for first week in March. On Delivery day they delivered 1/2 a couch. No explanation, no call from the store, the delivery folks had no idea. We called the store and was told the other piece had been lost at the warehouse. Next we were told the rest of the couch would be delivered March 18, 2020. March 17, 2020 we get a call from delivery folks to confirm delivery for next day. My wife asks if they are delivering the rest of the couch. She was told no, they were just delivering 1 other piece (the corner of a L shape sectional). She was told they do not have the other piece on their schedule. We were then told we'd have to call the store for more info. This is of course disappointing that yet again we weren't contacted by Crate and Barrel beforehand. So we are, again, forced to call them to get information. We called the store. We were told the other piece had to be reordered and would take 3-4 MONTHS before it would be ready. Also, at the same time, we were told our bed, scheduled for April, would now not be ready until May. Of course this was shocking...we asked the store representative why it would take so long given the original order only took 2 months; she did not know. We then asked how come nobody from Crate and Barrel called us to let us know; she said she thought someone else had. We then asked to speak with a manager in hopes of getting more information and perhaps some expedited delivery. The representative said she would have Cameron, the store manager, call us back that day. It's now Friday (we called Tuesday) and we have not heard from anybody. Most certainly a very upsetting experience. My wife and I are very easy and understanding people. We are not rich and choosing to buy $10,000.00 in furniture was not easy for us, we felt comfortable buying these items because Crate and Barrel was a larger, more reputable company, and the customer service representative who helped us said all the right things about them helping us if there were "any issues". That rep, by the way, no longer works for the company. (And getting another rep to help us or the store manager hasn't worked out...) Anyways, I hope this review is fair. It's our customer experience thus far. I hope to be able to write a follow up explaining how Crate and Barrel made up for these issues and surprised us by their empathy and willingness to help make things right... To be as honest and transparent as I can - I am hoping they offer to compensate us for the hardship, delays, and failure to provide proactive customer service. read more

I rarely write reviews unless extremely satisfied, or unfortunately very disappointed in my service experience. In this case, Crate & Barrel has not only lost my business but my respect as company that keeps it commitments to its customers. I purchased a dresser from Scottsdale store location on October 1st and was told the item was in stock and would be delivered by mid October, at the latest. I stressed at the time of the purchase that availability of item and timely delivery was very important as part of my home renovation. I was assured my timeline could be accommodated. As of today, (11/29) I still do not have my dresser after enduring one delay after another and then the product being received damaged and further delayed into a mid December. I canceled my order this evening and full credit has been issued. That may resolve the issue for them, but it in no way addresses the poor experience I received, restores my goodwill in them as a reputable company, nor recognizes the remaining problem I have (no dresser), not to mention the time I have lost and spent trying to resolve this issue due to their poor logistics management. The representative I spoke with this evening was clearly more than glad to issue me credit and be done with me. I was left with the feeling my business was not valued and my frustration in facing another two week delay was unreasonable because "it was the holiday season and they are busy". Bottom line....I think I am like most people when you purchase something. Do what you say you are going to do...actions speak louder than words. Crate & Barrel failed to deliver on their promise to a customer repeatedly and at the end of it they made me feel like losing my purchase was no big deal to them. We have purchased a platform bed, walnut entertainment console, book cases, kitchen accessories, dishes and most recently a Wüsthof knife set. We have encountered a few issues with shipping but anything that came up was quickly addressed by the great people at Crate & Barrel. In our experience, Crate & Barrel takes care of their customers regardless the size of purchase. I ordered an item online from the C&B website. When it arrived it was not at all what I wanted so I brought it to the Kierland store to return. I had the order confirmation email with confirmation, SKU, etc. They hemmed & hawed, got a manager, kept looking at the information on my phone. Finally said since it "shipped from the vendor" it was MY problem. I would need to take the (large) item, contact customer service, on and on. No one offered to help me, even provide a store credit, NOTHING!! I told them I knew what I would do is NEVER shop at Crate & Barrel again!! Out $100 but lesson learned. The one-stop-shop for all things home! We registered at Crate and Barrel for our wedding and have been frequent consumers ever since! The people that work here have always been so nice and attentive! Their sales are great, and with the extra perks of having a credit card, it's a must have to get rewards points back as crate and barrel cash to spend on your newest obsession! Their quality is truly unbeatable! Our dishes and silverware are from here and very well loved in our house- and still look brand new! We own a bar cabinet and it is spacious and is wearing very well! The pillows on our couch still look brand new after a few years!
