The ambiance is perfect and the smell from the kitchen catch you as you walk in. We ordered a lot of dishes and shared family style among the 6 of us since the food curation is so unique. Everything tasted outstanding! All starters and mains were perfectly prepared and the bext in flavor and quality. We had the braised short rib, yellowfin tuna ceviche, whipped ricotta, mussel toast, grilled octopus, bavette steak, rainbow trout, and lamb sirloin. I seriously felt like I was one of those judges on a Food Network show with every first taste as it was THAT GOOD! The wine and beer selection was fantastic. I had a glass of the Marcio Lopes - Laranja and a glass of the Mammoth Pilsner. Our server, George, was fantastic and he ensured that our glasses were full and explained the preparation of every item. Plus he grabbed a snap of us prior to the meal. Thanks George! This was a memorable outing and I can't wait to come back during lunch time before I leave town. I can't recommend ESMÉ enough.

We wanted to try their coffee but it was already closed for the night, so our server helped us narrow down some wine options and gave great recommendations. We had already eaten, so we went all in on desserts. The whipped ricotta was the highlight, so good. The churros came out warm, and we also tried the ice cream sandwich and panna cotta, which we all enjoyed. The ambience is really unique, laid back with a soft, cozy feel. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to, especially to try the famous esme drink and brunch.

Came…read morehere with one of my dearest friend who came down from NorCal to visit during one of the most challenging times of my life. The combination of friendship and delicious dishes delivered by Almost famous was soul-warming. Metered street parking only unfortunately, but service at the restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly, courteous, patient, and were happy to go through the menu and make recommendations. You can tell they take pride in their dishes offered. They will check-in enough to ensure everything with the dining experience is going well, but not too frequently to impede on privacy. They have a breakfast/lunch (brunch) menu that they serve from 8am up until 2pm and a dinner menu that is available from 11am to 2pm & 5pm to 9:30pm. 1. Ginger & Cardamom Chai Latte (5/5) House-made chai with ginger and cardamom. If you like herbal spices, this drink was comforting and warming. It's not sweet, which I like and it paired well with the food dishes. 2. Crab Bhuna (4.75/5) Crab meat simmered in fragrant spices then topped with ginger, fennel seed, and curry leaves. It is served with soft, subtly sweet banana buns The crab meat was fresh and honestly, you couldn't even tell it's crab. It's seasoned perfectly with the aromatic Indian spices. The banana buns were interesting ... it was a bit on the dry side, but if you stuffed the airy pockets of the bun with the crab meat, it's not too bad. The banana bun had an interesting flavor profile; a mix of sweet-bitterness to it. 3. Sweet Potato Chaat (5/5) One of my favorite dishes here. It is sweet potato chunks mixed with a sauce blend of sweet corn, yogurt, tamarind, mint chutney and pomegranate. The sauce was light, refreshing, and tangy, balancing the natural sweetness of the sweet potato perfectly. 4. Brunch Dosa Rice & Lentil Crepe (4.75/5) Basically think of a crepe, but a super large size one. I just love their crepe - it was crispy yet doughy with a cheesy flavor. The crepe was stuffed with turmeric mashed potatoes. I typically do not like mash potatoes, but when it's served this way, I approve. The dish comes with a side of 3 sauces - sambar (lentil-based vegetable curry that's often seasoned with coriander seeds, cumin, fenugreek, dry red chilies), curry, coconut and tomato chutney. A perfect dish for sharing and for trying out the various flavors of Indian cuisine. 5. Wagyu Beef Keema Kulcha (4.5/5) Minced Wagyu beef that's seasoned well with aromatic spices and onion inside an Indian leavened flat bread. Highly recommend and will be back to try out other dishes!

We went there on a sunday, which was fortunate for us and easy day to find free parking on the street. The interior is beautifully designed, sleek and cozy We ordered one of the popular spinach and mozzarella flatbreads, there are popular paneer and we shared the special dosa platter. Everything was beautifully plated and very generous portions We want to go back for dinner try more of their savory dishes and definitely come back for brunch because they do have both American and Indian options to choose from.. and the French toast looked amazing! At Almost Famous to your foodie must try list!

I do wish they'd bring back a couple of my old favorites, especially the vegan Reuben and the Impossible taco salad. Those were standouts. Thankfully, they still have the vegan bánh mì on the menu, which never disappoints. It's consistently flavorful, fresh, and satisfying--definitely a reliable choice if you're looking for a solid vegan option. Parking was easy; we left the car in one of the nearby garages and took a short walk over. Between the great weather, the patio seating, and a dependable vegan sandwich, it made for a really enjoyable lunch.

Sure, it gets busy sometimes, but the quality of the food and ingredients here is always so good and the portion sizes are perfect. During a…read morelazy afternoon after visiting the Pantheon in Rome, we had our first experience with All'Antico after taking a 5 minute walk down the road. They actually had 2 separate locations flanking the pedestrian road, so there were two long lines snaking out in opposite directions. While we were waiting in line, we bumped into a couple from Spain who were also visiting. They gave my wife some personal recommendations, advising we get the blood orange soda with our sandwiches. After getting said sandwiches (the La Paradiso), we nibbled on them while walking to Sant'Ignazio of Loyola Church, which is that cathedral where there's a mirror directed up towards the murals on the ceiling and a huge selfie line. Hot damn were those sandwiches good. The thinly sliced mortadella paired perfectly with that buttery, green pistachio spread. The only challenge for my taste buds was the mild oral trauma I sustained from punching through the crispy bread; your gums started to feel it by the time you devoured your sandwich. But we liked it so much that when we later took the train to Florence, we sought All'Antico again at their original location. I thought that would be my last experience with All'Antico (unless, of course, I came back to Italy). So imagine my surprise when later that year I heard All'Antico had coincidentally opened a branch in Los Angeles, although rather awkwardly situated in Koreantown. Even though we live 30 minutes away, we made the drive immediately. There was no way this remote All'Antico location, thousands of miles from Italy, would live up to the experience I had in Rome earlier that year. But I was mistaken. Not only is the taste spot on, but the bread they serve is actually chewier and removed the gum calisthenics I suffered in Italy. And yes, they also have the blood orange soda as well. It's a little weird their location is in Koreatown, but not a big deal; we'll usually do a bingsu run afterward. Just like their locations in Italy, All'Antico is small but they do have a small collection of bar seats, some of which overlook the staff as they're making your sandwich. Be mentally prepared though to take it to go depending on how busy it is. Parking sucks too; there's street parking only, but if you come on Sunday you don't have to pay. Every so often now, we'll make the 30 minute drive just to relive that slice of Italy we experienced nearly 2 years ago. Thankfully, not a lot of people recognize how good this place is yet, as the lines aren't crazy long like they are in Italy. For all the other Yelpers in on it too, let's keep it our little secret for now.

Lunch rush came around 1:30pm. The workers were kind and helpful, each working diligently to complete everyone's order timely. I ordered the Mamma Mia, Dante, New Yorker--with Dante coming out as my fav. Shoutout to their truffle sauce, light yet not overbearing! Loved to see how they only use focaccia that just come out of the oven, and they cut your sandwich's meat from the meat hunk on an order basis. Very fresh, never greasy. I thought the Dante and Mamma Mia could improve by adding just one more ingredient as a cherry on top, like a sort of nut (walnuts, pine nuts) or something that helps the sandwich spark. Would love to see a bit more arugula too. No public bathroom--closest one is probably Hmart across the street (needs a code). Parking is metered, but there's free neighborhood parking 1-2 blocks away if you're able to find a spot. There's a few seats (5-6) and a standing bar around the perimeter of the store. Also, the drinks are money but you can ask for a water cup for free.
