I had been using Evergreen for some time now, off and on for several years, generally when my…read morepreferred service provider is unavailable or my company desires to save a few pennies. For the most part the service has been acceptable for the price point, with a failure to assist with luggage, arriving a few minutes late, or door opening neglect now and again. This, however, is largely dependent on the assigned driver. Perhaps an indication of inferior training? I think, however, Evergreen showed the company's true make up during and after my last trip.
The trip, in February of 2013, began as usual. Made reservations with Evergreen, giving all the normally requested information. For the outbound leg of this trip, the driver was a solid 15 minutes late. On a tight schedule, I was loading my own car at the time the Evergreen car drove up. Less than two minutes more, I would have been gone. The driver, whom I had not seen before, recognizing how late he was, excused himself with "I didn't realize how far it is to get here". Try map quest next time. Later, in the car, driver again excused himself by stating my normally assigned driver called in sick. Okay, fine, why no phone call? No apology for lateness, just excuses?
Strike one, unreliable.
Strike two, I don't want your excuses, I'm paying for service, admit your error, offer to make up for it if you can, and move on.
Same trip, the return leg, flight on time, not early, not late, car is waiting on time, my name in window, trunk up awaiting luggage. Where is the driver? No idea. I wait a few moments, load the car myself, close the trunk. Look around, don't recognize a driver. Open the door to car, look around again, hoping to be noticed. It was a tough trip, I'm tired, ready to go. Finally driver, who was chewing the fat with a group of other drivers, hurries over with an intensely embarrassed look upon his face. Evergreen claims to assists with luggage and so forth, clearly
not so in this case. Mea culpa? Highly unlikely, I'm sure.
Strike three, inattentive, unprofessional.
I should note, later, when complaining about this trip's service, I was treated rather rudely by one named 'Nancy'. Be careful when speaking with her as Nancy's vocabulary seems a bit limited. She can be belligerent and will hang up abruptly should she encounter a word beyond her comprehension, as in, "What does that word mean- *click*".
I did attempt, a second time, to seek recompense for the poor service, but was greeted with the same hostile attitude of 'Nancy', including personal insults and some rather vulgar language.
Bottom line, Evergreen is usually ok so long as you don't expect class A personal service, are greeted by one of their better drivers, and all goes according to promised or expected schedule. But once schedules go astray the inevitable poor service will be encountered, so buyer beware.
For my money, and I've given plenty to Evergreen, I'll stick with my first, more expensive choices, or drive myself before dealing with this mercurial establishment again.
