955 am, Sunday, June 07, 2026…read more I was afraid I wasn't going to find parking. There were a few spots in my preferred area. The gas prices are dropping too but I didn't need any. In and out of Costco in 30 minutes! I just beat the regular members by five minutes before they were allowed inside to shop. Still no Windex in the warehouse! I found everything else I needed and a few items that they're clearing out. The self checkout line looked worse than it was but moved quickly in two minutes. The hand held scanner was acting finicky for the Costco associate. I had a few heavy items in the cart that she tried scanning. Three times the charm... On the third reset, the scanner worked.

Plus, the building felt smaller. I'm thinking of either getting a Costco or Sam's Club membership eventually, but I like how I can go in with a family member. Costco has some of the best options when it comes to toiletries, meat, bread, and such. Price match still though! I can still find things cheaper elsewhere. And it's hard to locate a certain product sometimes. This specific location though, months ago, when they were giving away free bags for people who signed up for a credit card, there was a situation that annoyed me. I still remember it. Originally, I thought that employee was just a third-party temp or not directly hired by Costco, but I did see her again afterwards. So, long story short, I was with my boyfriend. He was applying for the card on his behalf, and she was basically flirting with him, and asking him questions about his work. I thought that was disrespectful to me and highly invasive. Maybe I'm over-reacting, but that left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and doesn't seem like the professional standard that Costco should be providing. Obviously, I've read reviews about Costco working culture and how people get hired there, but personally, I just feel like that was wrong.

The prices at Costco are rising…read more The Doritos used to be about $6.00. Now it is over $7.00. The hot dog combo is still a steal at $1.50. If it was market price, it will be over $5.00, and it is so good. Their single slice pizza is also a deal at $1.99. I know we should be expected higher prices at Costco, but it is still shocking to see. The benefits of globalization are ending, Trump's tariffs and higher oil prices have put an end to our low price cost of living. Sad, but true. The American dream is pretty much over in SoCal. The high housing cost and the raise in minimum wage have put an end to the American dream for residents of SoCal. It is what it is. Ray out.

I used the self-checkout counter to pay for my purchases and scanned my items accordingly. However, being elderly, I couldn't carry and scan my pack of Kirkland waters so I asked a lady supervisor nearby for help who then called cashier Mike Guzman to lift the pack to be scanned. Mike did scanned the water but looked annoyed to hep me out. I placed my two earlier scanned items on the cart right before paying. It was then that Mike Guzman RAISED his voice to me to put back the two items to the scale and pay first. I would not have mind being told to do so but not in a raised tone that was very rude. I suggest that Management take note of this matter and act accordingly as there may possibly be more customers who had the same bad treatment from Mike Guzman before.

First time inside this Costco in Norwalk, and this time made use of their free service to adjust…read moreeye glasses purchased at any Costco. I was very satisfied with the visit. My glasses had gotten really loose from constant wear, so was hopeful it could be tightened. The optical shop is located outside the registers, so it's important to enter via the Exit opening (similar to if you want to visit their subscription desk to buy a membership). Recently, the optical department got rid of their paper ticketing (where one draws a numbered ticket and wait for their number to be called, just like a deli), and replaced it was an app based one (powered by Waitwhile). You scan a QR code, which takes you to a web page. You can then choose a reason for the visit (I chose Eyeglass adjustments), and give a name. An optional phone number can be given to receive text, which I did. I was notified that I was on the waitlist by text, but was called by name and never told by text that I was up/next. David was the optician that adjusted my glasses, and gave me the standard warning that they would not be liable if the glasses broke during adjustment. He then worked on them on a nearby desk, and worked carefully. It made sense to hang around, and once he was done, just handed them right back, confirming that they fit. He did a great job. One new thing I noticed were these 'Pickup lockers', where orders from costco.com, optical, or pharmacy could be picked up without human interaction. It's similar to Amazon lockers in set-up. Neat that Costco keeps trying new things.

Additionally, I wanted to also look into getting a better whisk, but I think I will make the wood what I have. And I knew I was gonna need a digital scale to help me through my sourdough journey now that I was gifted two sourdough starters--one from Italy and one from France (one of my clients was very giving & thoughtful). The price is range from $40-$85., whoa! Amazon has them for about $30. I will have to think about this.. Met Gonzo, yes, that's how he spelled it, a delightful & enlightened staff member who was very helpful with recommending which would be best. We could've had a whole conversation for a half a day! LoL. In the end, I decided to think about it before purchasing one (turns out later, best decision I made all day) My glass measuring cup is in storage & I find it cumbersome so I bought a lighter version (2 cup). Happy with my purchase. Hubby bought his item separately & let me roam the aisles. Highly recommend this store. Gonzo was instrumental in making me feel welcomed & appreciated to be shopping here, hence the 5 star. As I mentioned many times in the past, I greatly value customer service. Wow!! What a gem of a store…read more If you need decorations of any sort for your party and/or other festive events, this is definitely a place to visit. Thank you to my good friend Jose J. (new to Yelp) and his wife for introducing my wife, Erika M. (Yelp Elite), to this HUGE party supply store. Surrounded by many warehouses housing many types of businesses, this party supply warehouse is located in a huge industrial area. Looking at the place from the outside, one would never know that it can be a real life- and money-saver for those looking to find anything and everything for their events. You will find rows upon rows of decorations, balloons, streamers, games, toys, and more, neatly displayed in plastic bins. Note: They do not sell candy of any sort You will also notice boxes and pallets of supplies neatly stacked in metal shelves two stories high. There were so many party supplies that this place truly left me in awe. Prices are very competitive (if not better) for most items, and almost free for others, as they were priced at rock-bottom clearance prices. Employees were very helpful, friendly, and hardworking. Parking is available for 20 to 25 vehicles in the private, gated parking lot. This is a place I recommend visiting before you break the bank the next time you need party decorations.
