Hi,
I am a mother of two, who works full time plus I run my own business on the side. One of my children has a disability and requires a lot of support and my other child is only 3 so takes a lot of time too. I have next to no free time. I try to make the healthiest choices possible for both myself and my children.
I would never eat here again, even if it were free. What a giant scam! They take advantage of people, marketing to those who have no time.
I attended an 'assembly party' and was utterly horrified by the results. I chose an appetizer, two main courses and a loaf. Total cost was $73. Wow, the things I can do with $73. Keep the price in mind as my story continues.
I arrive at the assembly party to see a Subway shop like setup where the whole place was designed assembly line style. Little bins of pre-cut vegetables and tons of plastic bags. So, I proceeded to find out that the appetizer and loaf were premade. No assembly needed. So that left me with two meals. The recipes were so simplistic I almost found them offensive. Literally, they say - "collect plasic bag", "put plastic bag in big container" and my personal fav "Step 10 - Wash your hands."
After the ten minutes it took for me to pour miscellaneous ingredients into baggies I was done. - getting to take home my little baggies of goop only to find that at least another 20 minutes of cooking was still to come.
I will admit, the appetizer was edible. But wildly expensive for only getting 12. The first meal was a pasta dish. Not bad either. But for $30 it fed my family of 4, including my 3 year old in one sitting. The second dish went in the garbage. After feeding them the plastic bag marinated food the first night, I couldn't bring myself to do it again. So, there was another $30 in the trash. And finally - the loaf went moldy within 48 hours so I can't comment on how it tasted. Another $8 for the trash.
For folks out there with no time to plan meals I have a few suggestions. Try some of the meal planning apps for smart phones, they even spit out a grocery list. Try places like M and M Meat shop or even the deli section of some of the local stores. If you want to cook, but never have start with a Company's Coming book. Great, simple recipes that are cost effective, quick to make and easy for beginners.
Don't get sucked in by the scam. read more
