Worth It! Very tasty pho with an excellent price point! $10.50-$11.50 for an XL bowl?? Amazing. Broth was delicious. Meat was tender. Noodles were perfect. One note: I had the salted lemon drink and that was the first time i had it. . Not my favorite. The salt was real.

Good. I try to eat pretty healthy and when I ordered the wrap it yourself lettuce wraps, hold the rice paper+vermicelli noodles and add extra lettuce and veggies, they were more than willing to accommodate with no questions. Their portions are good and always tastes great. Love the flavour of their pho broth as star anise really presents itself as the stronger flavour. I recommend this Vietnamese restaurant (as there aren't a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the south area) and this seems to always get it right!

Probably one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the city. This place is a tiny restaurant that looks like a dive. One of the major reasons I like it is because service is always prompt and quick! The pho broth was wonderfully salty and flavorful. The noodles and beef balls were cooked perfectly as well. There was the right amount of onion and cilantro to enhance the flavor in every bite. I also really enjoyed my Vietnamese iced coffee. Price is a little steep at $5. But it had the right amount of condensed milk to sweeten the bitterness of the coffee.

Finally a good Vietnamese restaurant in the south end! The restaurant is located just a few blocks south of McGillivray on Pembina, on the southbound side. The restaurant is in a small stand alone building that offers some parking spots in their private lot. The interior space is clean and bright with a mixture of bright green and white paint colours. It's a family run restaurant that definitely looks more updated than the usual Vietnamese places downtown. The menu has the usual items like pho, bun (vermicelli) and other soups as well as some stir fried dishes that verge on being Chinese. Pricing is tad higher, by about a $1-$2 per dish, compared to other Vietnamese restaurants but that's offset by the convenience (for me at least). One of my addictions involve iced Vietnamese coffee. This places serves a fantastic, strong but well balanced drink (F183 - Vietnamese style coffee with condensed milk for $4.75). I take my cold but you can order it hot. Oh, the coffee was wonderful strong yet smoothed out by the condensed milk. This stuff takes forever to drip from the filter so order it early on in your meal so you can start drinking it mid meal or have it for dessert! My next must have dish is a bun (vermicelli) bowl. I was surprised by the price of the super deluxe version, which is $14 but it does offer shrimp and beef in addition to the regular pork items that are included. I went with V63 - grilled pork, grilled pork patties (2 pcs), pork hash, 2 spring rolls on vermicelli with fresh vegetables ($9). This quintessential Vietnamese dish is served almost room temperature, though the meat can be warm depending on when they grilled the stuff. You pour fish sauce over the entire bowl and let all the beautiful flavours meld together. Mmmm. It's pretty much a noodle salad. The grilled pork is very flavourful, same goes for the pork patties. The spring rolls were a little disappointing in size and taste - 2 tiny rolls that sort of disintegrated once the fish sauce was absorbed! The only criticism I have is that there could have been more herbs included. Otherwise, it's a great dish. The G112 honey garlic chicken ($11.50) was more honey than garlic. There was a decent amount of chicken stir fried with various vegetables. And the B125 curry beef ($11.50) was a disappointment as the curry flavour was very subtle. I found it strange that they used the charbroiled beef that would go into the vermicelli bowls and summer rolls into this curry dish. It's strange because the beef is marinated for other purposes using totally different flavours. Vietnamese curry dishes taste more subtle than Indian curry dishes. Therefore, the marinated beef clashed with the curry sauce since all I could taste was the more salty marinade in the beef. Also, there was way more sauce and onions than beef strips in this dish. Rice wasn't included with the stir-fry dishes so make sure you order some.

I ordered the spicy, crispy beef and vegetables, which were great. Service was fast and I'd definitely go again.

Best Pho in Winnipeg (broth is spectacular). The restaurant is often busy with regular customers. Prices are very reasonable.

Ordered chicken salad wrap. Instead of using grilled chicken, they used packaged chicken breast chunks. Ordered lemongrass chicken platter. Instead of properly grilled lemongrass chicken meat, they served a large chicken leg with bone. Fish sauce has no flavour. Will not visit again!

I ordered the salad rolls with pork and shrimp...structurally very substantial in size and full of stuff. One could just order a few of these and have a nice filling meal. That said, the peanut sauce wasn't particularly creamy or pea-nutty. The pho is served in a moderately size bowl, but they didn't offer a lot of sprouts or basil. The salad roll had basil as a garnish and I put them into the pho. Also, there wasn't a lot of depth of flavor in the soup base itself...it wasn't watery just bland. Lastly I order the crepe sweet potato and shrimp. To describe this as a "crepe" has never had a crepe (made in the French tradition). It's not at all pancake like and more like a hash brown with shrimp. It was good and crispy but not at all what I expect. The restaurant has amazing ambience, kudos to the decor...with a wall length mural of a peacock and hanging paper lanterns...the restaurant looks exotic. Lastly, service was also just ok, not special or fast. Also, I got my entire order all at once, which I hate especially since I like having Pho hot. When one gets everything at once stuff gets cold! The cooks have no sense of timing (seemingly) and are more concerned about getting the order out. Overall, it's a beautiful restaurant full of charm with ok food and care for the customer. If you're not as exacting as I am about Pho and dining out in general...you may like it...the food is certainly filling.
