We really enjoy this place and have for years! Great food. The service was great and we really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Some of the best Korean I have had in a long time. This restaurant is small and if you have a larger party book. The food is simple and elegant. The style of having sushi and Korean together works and the fact that most sushi restaurants are run by Koreans here in the Peg makes it seem well normal. Went here with some good friends and a son who loves all things Asian. Appetizers are plentiful and delicious ranging. The gamut of great Japanese and Korean classics. I settled with Korean glass noodles and split a kimchi pancake with my better half. Seriously best pancake Eva!!!! This place was recommended by my friends and I thank them for it. The mains came quick and my Korean pork steak was sweet and salty and delicious. It had been obviously marinated to perfection so the fat had been broken down and the meat had that almost melt on your tongue but still meat umami taste that I love. If you are new to Koream food this is a great introduction venue. The place is clean and it has one of my main litmus tests for authenticity when it comes to Asian restaurants, if I am one of the only causcasians in the the place you know it's going to be good! read more

It's our neighborhood gem although they have gone through chef turnover it's consistently good. They really haven't done anything new on their menu in years. Would be good to see them develop some new sushi dishes. read more

Momo is one of the Korean restaurants that my husband and I frequent. We usually dine in, but today we decided to get takeout for the first time. From ordering it over the phone to having it ready, it only took 15 minutes, or less than that actually, because I arrived a few minutes early. I ordered 3 california rolls for the husband, and for myself, I got the soon dubu chigae (soft tofu stew), which I always order when I'm there and is my favourite. The california rolls were $3.95 each with 8 pieces, which is probably the cheapest I've ever seen it being offered. My soon dubu chigae was $10.95, and I got it with pork (another option is seafood). Aside from tofu, the stew will come with sliced onion and a cooked egg. The stew tasted just like how it does when you dine in and was still hot by the time I got home (about 10 minutes). They also gave me two side dishes, being kimchi and seasoned bean sprouts, and a serving of rice. When we dined in, we would usually get three side dishes, which would include the two I mentioned, and also the soy sauce braised potatoes. Also, I liked the fact that they put cling wrap over the opening of the container before putting the lid on to prevent spillage of the stew. Many times when I'm driving while it's sitting in the car, soup or sauce will spill out of the container, so I thought it was smart of them to do so. Overall, the taste of the food was consistent with dining in. Their sushi here is also very good. I would recommend getting the spicy torch roll. Other Korean dishes I'd recommend is the budae chigae and jeyuk bokum. Price-wise for the Korean dishes, they are more expensive than other restaurants I've been to. If you can't be bothered to travel further for cheaper options, then Momo would be the next best thing. read more

This tiny restaurant fooled me. One, I didn't think it'd be so popular and two, I didn't think they would have the best seafood and bone soup! Soon tofu chigae (with seafood): highly highly recommend. It comes piping hot, perfect for Winnipeg rainy weather. This spicy and sour soup paired perfectly with mussels, fish, shrimp and rice. I liked that they added a boiled egg as well. Soup was very filling and reasonably priced at $10.95. Volcano sushi roll: spicy tuna sashimi marinated in Sriracha with chopped scallop and cucumber. This sounds delicious and spicy but there was no flavor for me. The roll severely lacked flavor despite Sriracha. I sadly needed wasabi and soya sauce to save the roll when I usually don't dip my rolls in any added sauce. I won't get this again because it's not worth the calories or price. Overall, I would come here again just for the soup and to try other items on the menu. There was a huge line and people standing outside in the rain for a table. You know they must be doing something right if people are willing to stand in the rain. read more

I was in town on business and had dinner at our hotel which was the Four Seasons. Our waitress told us about the Korean restaurant next-door. So in -8° weather tonight we decided to walk over and what Fantastic meal. I had a soup and tempura veggies, my coworker had a pork chop dish that looks so good. Everything being served looked amazing and I couldn't believe how packed the restaurant was for being in a little strip mall. If I lived here I would be eating dinner at least once or twice a week. Their sushi looked incredible. So glad we were told about this place and I plan to return again the next time in town! read more

Best sushi I've had in Winnipeg so far, especially compared to the local competitors. The food is amazing and the prices are unbeatable. 8.5/10 read more

Kinda expensive and no vegan options but overall pretty tasty. It's usually pretty packed and you don't get much connection with the server but it's okay because understandably they're really busy. read more

Momo is a small family run Korean and Japanese restaurant in the Fort Richmond Plaza (on your right when you're heading south on Pembina). It's in the same strip mall as the Liquor Mart. I liked the "japchae." It's a delicious, but somewhat greasy stir-fried dish that combines sweet vermicelli noodles made from the starch of a white sweet potato (aka glass noodles), thinly slices of beef, carrots, green onion, spinach, shiitake mushrooms and green peppers. The glass noodles had a slightly chewy texture (in a good way) and was wonderfully flavoured with sesame oil and soy sauce. There was beef in this dish, which is interesting cause the menu didn't mention it at all so if you're vegetarian, make sure you inquire first. The "bulgogi", pan fried sweetly marinated beef with vegetables, rice and kimchee. The beef was slightly sweet and tender and the kimchee was spicy. The "spicy tuna" roll (cucumber, tuna, tobiko and hot sauce) and the "crazy" roll (cucumber, spicy tuna, sliced garlic, green onion and salmon on top). Overall, the rolls were average as there was a bit too much sushi rice in the rolls and the rice was a bit wet. Service was friendly and efficient. I'd go back again but I'd stick to the Korean dishes. read more

Good cheap sushi. Can't go wrong when your on a budget but not the best bang for your buck.

Honestly, this place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is hand down the best sushi in Winnipeg! I live in Toronto and always crave this place when I come home to visit! Get the spicy tuna or scallop rolls. read more

The Philadelphia rolls are a guilty pleasure of mine... Even though sushi fans would roll their eyes with a comment like that I have never had anything like them Very reasonably priced sushi and great selection read more

I'm veg and had the dolsot bibimbap witj tofu, the pickled radish sushi, the agadashi tofu, and the wakame salad. Was all delicious. Partner loved the bulgolgi! Friendly and efficient service even though it was packed. The Korean appetizers we're amazing. Lots of customers read more

one of my fav restaurants. Their food was amazing, the servers are very considerate and were happy to provide our needs. They take a while to serve but it's worth it. Def should hire more people though. read more

Do not recommad, the worst Korean food in Winnipeg. You are paying more per dish at momo, but getting less food on your plate (not even a plate full). There s barely any seafood in their seafood pancake, and the gamjatang tastes like water mixed with spicy soybean paste, you suppose to get potato and nappa cabbage in your soup, but all you get is the meatless bone and a small slice of potato. The Korean food in momo just looks so pathetic. If u want to eat good authentic Korean food, go try out Kimbaek, u ll be so pleased like me :) read more

I used to come here often but since I've moved I haven't been back and finally I was in the area and how I miss having their sushi along with korean dishes that they offer! I've noticed majority of their clientel are all exchange students now, the place is casual and the wait time for food isn't too bad considering they were busy too when I was there. I would come back when I'm in the area for sure! read more

Very good sushi that is not so dependant on mayo like so many sushi places. Very good service that is friendly and hard working. My fave for last 8 years. The sashimi is extremely generous with thick slices unlike most places. My only wish is they had more variety in their party platters and not use so many of the cheaper rolls but still good never the less. For my bday they made a special on the house bday dish. I guess you could say I am regular. read more

Awful management. I ordered a dish ( one of the lunch boxes for $20) and it was not satisfactory to the slightest. Since I am new to the japanese sushi lingo, i asked the waitress what Nigiri is. She failed to tell me that it contains wasabi. I am very intolerant to spicy foods so when i took a bite out of the salmon nigiri my mouth was on fire and it was not pleasant. I complained about the fact that it has wasabi in it and the waitress kindly apologized for failing to mention that crucial detail and offered to get me some new ones. I was hesitant on getting new ones because I did not like the rest of my dish. The crab rolls were not tasty, and the salad it came with had some mystery brown chunky sauce on it. The menu did not mention anywhere about what kind of sauce it came with, or that it even came with sauce for that matter! She said I was not allowed to give the dish back, and that i could only get new pieces of nigiri but this time it won't come with wasabi. I reluctantly agreed. The new Nigiri came and low and behold they put wasabi in it. I was not happy. She offered again to bring me new ones. I agreed. I ate those 3 pieces of nigiri, but when she came back with the bill I asked that I get at least a discount because my meal was not satisfactory and they made a mistake not only once, but twice. Let me mention that i did not eat the whole meal. When i was at The Pancake House, when they made my order wrong twice, they refunded me my meal! So I asked for a discount. They refused. I asked to talk to a manager, but the waitress told me that they do not speak english and that for her it is hard to talk to him. Usually at restaurants, if a customer is unsatisfied with their meals and/or the wrong dish is brought to them the meal is refunded/discounted. Not here. Because the owner did not know how to speak english the waitress had to be a translator. That is not fair for her as she has other customers to attend to and things to do. He ended up telling me that it was my fault for not telling them that i do not like wasabi. Thats very rude to treat a customer like that and especially for having the audacity to tell me it was my fault. I felt really bad for the waitress because she had other things to do and she had to deal with me but i made sure to tell her it was NOT her fault in the slightest. This restaurant needs NEW management asap if they want to be a reputable business. And they need to have more respect for their customers. Overall, Very expensive sushi for so few pieces, the miso soup tasted like dirty water, sushi is not well done at all it is quite sloppily made and Bad Management. On the bright side the tempura was alright. read more

I have been in Winnipeg for 5 days trying all cuisine, but being Korean, I needed Korean food. Momo has not only satisfied that need but I asked for the chef to thank her personally. It scratched that Korean food itch that I needed. Thank you MOMO... read more

Momo has completely changed from what it used to be on Portage. It is a new restaurant with new dishes, not just a sushi bar anymore. The Korean food is amazing, and the sushi is still the best in Winnipeg. read more
