He was honest in his appraisal, willing to work on the coat, and accommodating of my budget (payment installments).

I have the older version computer bag on wheels that had a mouse chew through it for one of my snacks and it was repaired flawlessly and for free due to the lifetime repair warranty. I love this store for the variety of fun travel gadgets and the lovable owners with whom we always enjoy a hearty laugh. Quality over quantity! Invest in excellent luggage and you can't go wrong! I tried to also choose service and value, but the app wouldn't let me. When I typed service, it chose the word.

The repair was not good, I understood the wheel would not match but it was not stable meaning the wheel they used, the luggage tipped over not balanced. I paid 45 dollars for this. I would not recommend and I love supporting small businesses but the repairs they do are not quality and given the location I suppose the rent is high and maybe that is the reason but a place like that should focus on quality repairs and customer service to also back the prices. I wish I researched wheel replacement and tools and possibly attempted to fix on my own but we can't use the luggage and I don't want to have to argue my complaint to them because I feel it would be a list cause

On Friday, July 5th 5:45 I encountered a locked door (well inside the regular opening hours). This was the third time in a year that I went to Harvard Square in vain. Occasionally I need repairs. Leather World seems to be the only Rimowa option around Boston. A half dozen repairs were done okay, but not always on the first try. Often they leave glue residues inside and never make an effort to remove dents. I had repairs done in Frankfurt at the the airport and in Beijing with much better results.

Savvy-traveler items like a money belt; a clothesline for stringing up in your hotel room so you don't have to bring so damn many clothes or overpay for hotel laundry service; the world's best-engineered travel toiletry bottles (won't break or ooze open in your suitcase; you'll never need to buy another set after buying these). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The last time I was there, a salesperson talked me out of buying a voltage converter so I could be prepared for every possible scenario on an upcoming trip, and told me that almost all electronics made within the last 5 years have built-in converters. Talking me out of buying things I don't need--now that's a store I'll go back to.

How lucky are we to have this fabulous family owned business near our home!…read moreOur first project with them was to recover all our dining room chairs. We brought photos of the room, the rug, etc...and they were so helpful in choosing a fabric that brightened up the room! Our second recent project was an 1800's Victorian Corner Chair that was in the attic for years. I emailed Barry photos and he emailed right back with suggestions (to not refinish the wood as to keep the original patina) and a quote. We brought in the chair and Toni brought out various samples to choose from. The orignial silk was a teal/blue and she assisted us in finding a beautiful fabric. The chair was polished and looks just gorgeous. This family has the knowledge, the eye and the professionalism you need! And they are very responsive and super friendly. Before and after photos of both projects are below. BTW the photos don't do them justice. We are anticipating another project...soon! Thank you to Barry, Toni and the entire family!

This store has an enormous selection of hats for men and women. They have Panama hats and fedora's and bowler to top hats. They also have a great selection for women. The people are wonderful. They take hats very seriously but in a very fun way. I was looking at a Panama and Jessen suggested a hat that was sturdier and it was a lot less money. He measured my head and they have this machine that helps to mold the hat to your head. The energy is great. A young mom went into the store with her 4 year old daughter they let her try on hats and she walkede the floor like she was on the runway. They also sell jewelry ties and other treasures. I have never had so much fun buying clothes.

I visited the Jamaica Plain shop today with my brother, on what happened to be the 27th anniversary of my father's passing. What could have been a heavy, emotional day was transformed into something unexpectedly meaningful, thanks in large part to the experience I had with Jessen. He spent well over an hour with me, patiently walking through countless combinations of styles, shapes, and colors -- not rushing, not upselling, just exploring what really worked. He was thoughtful, kind, and extraordinarily knowledgeable, and it was clear he genuinely enjoyed the process of helping me find the right hat. That enthusiasm was contagious; time absolutely flew by. I left with a beautiful hat and a matching scarf, each with its own story -- down to where the wool came from and how it was made. That level of care and passion isn't something you can fake. It's obvious that Jessen and Andria care deeply about their craft, their customers, and the experience they create in the shop. This was, without question, the best experience I've ever had in a hat store. The selection is fantastic, but it's the heart, expertise, and hospitality that make Salmagundi truly special. If you're anywhere near Boston and even thinking about a hat, do yourself a favor and go see Andria and Jessen. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
