I use SuperShuttle nearly every Monday and Friday to travel from home to BWI for business. This morning they texted at 740am to let me know they were canceling my ride to BWI. When I called them, they stated that they were doing so within there allotted 4 hour window, and confirmed that they knew my flight was leaving at 1110am. How this adds up to 4 hours remains a secret to me. The company knows i am a regular rider, they just lost my business forever. I already dumped the app. read more

I scheduled for the 4am shuttle to Dulles. It didn't arrive until 5am. I missed my flight at the airport. I won't be using them in the DC area again. read more

I loved the text updates and the map positioning for the arrival of the van at my hotel. The only downside was that it took about twenty minutes to get the van from the airport to the hotel, but that is probably to be expected with a shared ride service. The price was very reasonable for the service and the distance. read more

I would not recommend this services to anybody. For the price I would pay a little more and take an Uber pool to home. I waited for more than 2 hours and a half. I could have arrived home 2 hours earlier with other transportation (even the public transportation is faster). I strongly recommend: DO NOT USE IT!!! read more

If I were rating them on my ride from BWI airport to my hotel in DC I would have given them 4 or 5 stars. The counter was easy to find, the driver was friendly, and there was no waiting around. My trip from the hotel to the airport on the other hand...didn't happen. They told me to be outside between 2:30-2:45, and that's where I was. I tried to give them leeway with being late, but at around 3:15 I called them only to find out that the driver had "stopped by at 2:44 and marked me as a no show." I'm assuming what happened is the driver came to the wrong side of the hotel, although I was on the side where I was instructed to wait. And even if that WAS the case...they had my cell phone number. A simple call would have solved the problem, easy. Instead, I had to pay a lot more money for a taxi and was at risk for missing my flight. I'm waiting on a reply for my refund request, I'll update this if they won't give me one. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after seeing all these other reviews it looks like I'm not the only dissatisfied customer. read more

I had a 4.45am pick-up time with a 15mins window. At 4.45am, I checked the location of the driver and he seemed to be parked nearby. At 4.55am he arrived in front of my house. As I walked out with my luggage he starts screaming at me about how long he has been waiting outside. This was obviously confusing to me. He goes on and on in a tirade at 5am in the morning which I'm sure my neighbors were not pleased about. We get to the airport and he passive aggressively drops me off a bit off from the airport entrance. Take a Lyft/ Uber or local taxi service if you can. I'd like to get my money back...what a mess. Especially at this early hour of the morning. Out of habit I've been using supershuttle but not worth having to sit by yourself in such an uncomfortable situation for so long. read more

OK, for the newbies out there: this is basically a ride share service. You will be riding with other passengers, the further out you live the more stops there will be. If you have more time than money this is a service you can consider. I won't be using the service again. My flight arrived about midnight. I was going to Alexandria from Dulles and no driver wanted the trip. So there I sat. First I was nice, then I was not so nice. Does not matter. Apparently even if you prepay...so don't use that "service" either. And the real kicker. A cab turned out to be only $5 more. No brainier on taking a cab. I wrote to head quarters and to the local owners about my experience. Never heard back either. Some companies just don't get service. read more

I was just issued a refund today. Very happy that they responded to my complaint in such a professional manner.

It's a good thing I didn't read the other reviews before using this service or I might never have tried them. We used shuttles all the time in Europe because of the high cost of parking at the Frankfort airport. This was my first time using a shuttle to get out to Dulles and I found it very easy and convenient. I booked online and was able to add gratuity, which was nice-not having to fumble for cash tips is always appreciated by me. The driver on my outbound trip arrived early and was very pleasant. We chatted about the Thanksgiving traffic, and he had me to the airport way before the madness began. Coming back I went to the counter, had a short wait of about 2 minutes and arrived back at home within an hour of arrival. I found every employee I dealt with very pleasant and the whole thing went off smoothly. Satisfied customer. read more

So I was worried about it from the reviews on here but it ended up working without any problems. Needed a lift from Dulles Airport to Washington DC. Ride was smooth and the driver drove safely. The shuttle was clean as well. Only thing was that it may take a little longer than you want depending on who is in the shuttle with you. But overall if you aren't restricted on time I think it's a good option. Got to the airport around 6:30AM, checked in at the Super Shuttle booth near the exit and only waited around 5-10 minutes for us to get seated in the shuttle. Waited about 15-20 minutes total before we left after we checked in. read more

I have no idea who plans the drivers routes but I seem to always get the short end of the stick. Living in southern Maryland, I've taken this twice to Dulles now. Problem is each time I took super shuttle, I was matched with other passengers living in southern DC or Bethesda, MD. Neither of which are remotely close to my location. A ride to Dulles nearly left me stranded because the driver had to go through rush hour in DC to get a passenger. A ride from Dulles scattered three passengers throughout DC and left me with an hour and a half ride back. Definitely going to look at other options moving forward. Also the super shuttle drivers in DC seem to be extremely irritable. read more

DCA SUPER SHUTTLE. NEVER AGAIN. I will pay to take the taxi from now on this late at night. Got checked in fine. Driver started gathering passengers after 45mins, expected this. Waited in the van, only to go to another terminal to pick up another passenger. At this point it's about an hour + 10 mins since landing. Here's where it went DOWNHILL: I inquired the route of the ride with the driver- turns out I was being dropped last. I asked why I was last if I was closer in proximity to the airport. DRIVER STARTED TO RAISE HIS VOICE. "You are further than her, so you will be last. I AM THE DRIVER!" At that point I decided to get out and responded with my wishes to do so and take a taxi instead. As my fellow passengers tried to get the door open for me, he was still yelling- I stated that he didn't need to raise his voice and yell- denied he was doing so and kept on with his "I AM THE DRIVER" bit. I do live here too, I'm pretty sure I know the way home. I proceeded to the supervisor who almost wanted to make an excuse for his behavior. He got me on another van, on the road in literally under 5 minutes as the first stop, probably so I wouldn't try to pursue a refund - but still does NOT excuse the fact that employees are YELLING AT THEIR CUSTOMERS. The only thing that freaks me out is that this driver input my address in the GPS. Nice to know that he has it. tag: supershuttle read more

My ride from Dulles to downtown DC was fine and the driver was professional. An hour after drop-off, I realized I lost my IPod. I made several calls throughout the weekend and went through a convoluted process to get a claim number from their Lost and Found office. Then I got a call back 4 days later that the driver had found the IPod and turned it in after the weekend off! They FedEx'd it to me overnight, no cost! Wow, I thought the IPod was a goner of course, so I am delighted at they do in fact have a functioning system in place and that there's a driver (Van 569) who restored my faith in fellow humans! Thank you, Arlington/DC SuperShuttle! read more

If I could give this service 0 stars, I would. This is for the Washington, DC area Super Shuttle. I was left stranded at the airport for 2 hours thanks to their terrible van service, incompetent dispatchers, and overall poor regard for customers or service. After collecting my luggage from baggage claim, I checked in at the Super Shuttle counter at 2:33 pm. The dispatcher had no idea what was going on and had no idea where any of the vans were. Why do I bother entering the time of my flight's arrival when I book a reservation if you are unable to provide a van service? After 1 hour, I was told that a cab was called. I waited outside for half an hour for a cab to arrive, only to be told by the airport dispatcher that a van arrived and I should get on the van. However, by this point my reservation had been canceled, so I had to get off the van and look for another taxi--at my expense. The company will only reimburse you the portion you would have paid based on your original Super Shuttle reservation. This incident was the worst, but over the past 4 years the customer service has steadily gone downhill. The airport service people are rude and indifferent, not to mention they don't really seem to know what is going on. The drivers barely speak English and always seem to arrive earlier than the window I sign up for, causing me to scramble to get on the van. I have witnessed drivers getting into arguments with passengers they are picking up, drivers not knowing where they are going, unsafe driving and just general ineptitude. The shared service may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. I am never using this service again. I would rather ride the Metro to Reagan than put up with another one of these idiots. read more

Paid advance for round trip to Reagan National Airport. My shuttle never showed after waiting over an hour after my flight returned me home to DC area. After asking how much longer I was put on a van I was not assigned to. I spoke with a reservation agent from the van who told driver to come back to Airport and put me on the new assigned van. This is a terrible way to treat a new customer or any customer. My new driver Isaac was outstanding! read more

Still 1-star, but wanted to update that I received a refund. Still out $40 for an Uber and a lot of wasted time, but there's that.

Taxi is same price from NW DC to Dullis. Last time had to sit in there van no working seat belt available. read more

I liked the convenience of booking online, paying (w/tip) beforehand, and the lower cost compared to a taxi ride (about 1/3 cheaper). BUT, the drivers suck! They were not helpful, somewhat rude, and acted as if their passengers were a complete burden on their time. I arrived at 11pm and maybe the night shift is less likable, but I'm calling a taxi for my ride back to the airport! read more

Followed directions on Super Shuttle app after clearing customs at about 9:30 last night at IAD - went to the pickup location - was told by the SS rep there that I was likely to "have a very long wait" even though I had paid for this shared ride 2 weeks earlier. Waited 45 minutes - second rep then tells me he has "no idea" when a van will show up. Took a cab home. Today phone rep explained that since I had already checked in for my ride I had to go through special hoops to get a refund. I asked to speak to his supervisor who took my info and said he submitted the request to the department that handles this kind of refund. Observation: it appears Super Shuttle drivers have the option to refuse less lucrative trips. Bottom line: this service may be okay when there are enough passengers available for shared rides but in the future I won't count on it after 8 p.m. read more

Extremely dissatisfied! They deserve *0* stars. My flight landed at 12:35am at Dulles. I checked in at the desk at 1:05am. I was one of 10 crammed into a van at 2:00am, and the 9th to be dropped off at 3:45am. The driver was given passengers from ALL over VA & DC, and Capitol Hill was last stop. Absolutely unacceptable... I will never use their service again. Pay the extra money for a taxi and save yourself a lot of grief. read more

I made an error when booking my shuttle on line and now the driver is going to drop me off in front of the school where I work. I will need to walk home in the dark. Really? I live 1 mile from here and he won't drop me off at home. I will NEVER use Super Shuttle again . Ever. read more

If I could give this pathetically run service a -5, I would. Most unreliable. Even though I had booked four days in advance to transport a group of 10, they made us wait for one full hour. Very tough to do for a group that had already survived a 38 hour-long flight. The excuse was that it was heaviest of times in term of flight arrivals. I had also booked in advance two shuttles at the same time to travel within DC. First, the shuttle came after 25 minutes and second they sent only one instead of two. We had to come up with alternate plans. It was frustrating and exhausting especially when the time was of the essence. Most unreliable, unprofessional service. Highly recommend you to find some other service-Washington Flyer etc. The company does not appreciate or deserve your business. read more

I used SuperShuttle today from Dulles to Manassas. Overall, it was a very positive experience. It was easy to book and they took me step by step when my flight arrived via text. My flight arrived during rush hour, which led to things being delayed. My driver was courteous and drove very safely. The only thing keeping me from five stars is the workers on the curb. They weren't rude, but when I had a question to be answered they didn't explain things well. Now that I've done it, it's not a big deal, but it was confusing for my first time. read more

Ive had mixed experiences with them.. If you have a simply trip planned out, from one location to another, then they are fine. But if you are trying to go somewhere slightly more complicated like a hospital campus where there are multiple buildings they will not understand. They do not understand the concept of dropping off at one location and picking up at another but on the same campus. Very rude customer service, they end up yelling at you every time for no reason. Just horrid. read more

Update: my drivers were quite pleasant and I adjusted accordingly. My only tip is to make sure everything is on order before you get there or you might be out of a few dollars. (For me a whole ride's fare. At the time of the first posting I was pretty upset about paying twice because I didn't have the means to print my voucher out) I'll still probably uber if it's during normal working hours but maybe I went a little overboard in my original review) read more

Had a great super shuttle experience my last time around. I took a red eye flight from San Francisco to Dulles and I hardly slept. I didn't want to pay the full taxi fare and i decided to go with SuperShuttle. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I was put in the van with people going to my direction, the Capitol Hill area. I was the third and last group dropped off, and my ride from Dulles was less than an hour. All things considering that was incredible time and the service is great for the price ($29). A regular taxi fares between $75 to $90. Lastly, the driver (I forgot his name but the vehicle number on 7/26 was 994) was amazing. Great guy, easy to talk to and incredible. read more

Best way to get to the airport for the least amount of money. I once took a cab to Dulles airport from Dupont Circle in DC... I wish I had known about the SuperShuttle then because my cab fare was about $60 plus tip. Eeesh. Anyhow, I've never had what I would call a bad experience with this company; they've always picked me up on time and gotten me to the airport within a decent amount of time. It was even reasonable when I arrived at the airport and I had no reservation. The only odd occurrence I've had with this company was when I was being dropped off at my apartment. The ride wasn't so bad, the driver and I chit-chatted a bit, and he told me he was from DRC, and I told him about me. I was the last passenger dropped off, and my driver was really impatient - driving crazy during the last few miles of the ride, nearly hitting pedestrians and cussing them out in French (I speak French fluently so I knew exactly what he was saying). But, he was very polite to me! I swear though, I wanted to kiss the ground when he stopped the van. This place is WAY more reliable than any of the cab companies in DC. At least you know you will always get picked up. read more

@ SS Representative. Thank you for a timely response. Please note, my issue was not with the drivers. The drivers were excellent and timely. The confusion was within the communication center. My driver's tardiness when picking me up was as a result of an accident on the road. The accident was posted on television news. Not his fault. \ read more

The most unreliable service! I booked a round-trip from Dulles airport to Hyatt place in downtown. The first leg of the trip the driver was 40 minutes late picking me up. On the return trip to the airport, execucar scheduled my pick up for 0446-0501. I never received a call from a driver to tell me they would be late for what time you picking me up until 0522, The driver then called me and said that they would be there in 10 minutes I was then picked up another 40 minutes late forcing me to have to notify the airport for assistance getting to my date with my family barely make the boarding call before they closed the plane door. Extremely disappointed with the service as I paid for premium service in a private vehicle when I should've just rode public transportation which would've been reliable and on time. read more

I think this company is a scam. They left me started at the airport for 1.5 hours. I after my second status check call, I found out that the person I had been talking to hadn't even assigned a driver to me. they told me I'd have to wait another 1.5 hours. There was nonsense of urgency on their ends. Will never use again. read more

I tried to book the Express Hybrid Sedan for my wife and I for our upcoming August flight. The Supershuttle system says the cost to IAD from my home would be $65 each way. I received the same price with and without my AAA number, even though the systems asks for my AAA number, then displays a message that my AAA discount has been applied. I should have seen a difference in the price using my AAA number. I contacted customer service. After a series of emails, it was finally explained to me that the Express Hybrid Sedan does not offer a discount for AAA. This is extremely confusing especially given the fact that the systems asks me for my AAA number then displays a message that the discount has been applied. The system clearly needs updating. It looks like we'll have to find an alternate mode of transportation. read more

I had a great experience with super shuttle. I scheduled a pickup for my husband and I from our residence to DCA. The driver came right on time (beginning of the window) and was helpful. I think it helps that only 7 people rode instead of the allotted. I saw complaints about the number of people in other reviews but it says 10 people max, maybe everyone doesn't read. People also don't seem to consider traffic fluctuations. We were picked up at 4AM so obviously there was no traffic. All In all I would book super shuttle again to be picked up. Taking super shuttle home from the airport... TBD read more

I'd give them zero stars if I could. I booked a pickup from my home to go to Reagan National Airport on May 14 and received a confirmation. I went outside 20 minutes before my scheduled pickup time but no driver appeared. I checked my SuperShuttle app and, while it confirmed that a pickup was scheduled, there was nothing showing where the vehicle was. The driver didn't respond to my message requesting estimated time of arrival, nor did he respond to my phone call. I called their reservations number and finally got a person. It seems they hadn't actually scheduled a vehicle to pick me up although they didn't admit this. They said somebody would come in 16 minutes--well after my pickup time of 2:25 p.m. The driver finally showed up at 3:01. Had I not called at 2:30, I would have been out of luck for my 4:30 flight. We made it to the airport less than an hour before departure so I did curbside check-in as the flight was boarding in a few minutes. The driver did not explain why he didn't pick me up at the scheduled time, nor did he apologize. I should have learned my lesson when SuperShuttle failed to pick me up in December 2017. When I called, I was told I should find other transportation. I ended up driving well over the speed limit and just made my flight. I booked SuperShuttle in April 2018 and again in April 2019 with no problems. Two failures out of four bookings, though, is extremely poor service. If you want to get to the airport in time, request a pickup time at least 3 hours before your scheduled flight so you'll have plenty of time to call and try to get somebody to come get you. Better yet, use Lyft, Uber, a taxi, or a friend to get there and avoid SuperShuttle. I filled out their online survey and gave them the lowest marks possible and stated why. They didn't repond. read more

Not sure where all the low scores are coming from, but maybe my experience differed from most because I asked for a "to airport" ride, booked on-line, and, having booked them many times before, knew that I would be the last one picked up and at the end of the designated pick-up window. Driver was on time and safe and careful taking a full van with luggage to IAD to grab late afternoon flights. Coupons available online before booking will knock ~10% off the already sub-Uber price. Tip is usually requested at time of booking, a bit strange and a policy I don't agree with. Recommend and will use again. read more

On balance, SuperShuttle gets an a-OK. I booked a shuttle from DCA to our hotel via Expedia. It's a paperless world out there, and while we had both a confirmation number AND the check-in person had us listed in the company's reservation queue, we were unable to use our pre-paid reservation. We ended up double-booked and double paid for one trip for not having a sheet of paper. FAIL #1. FAIL #2: For the booking to take us to ICA - no paperwork needed, the driver checked nothing before loading our stuff into the van. Non-plussed at needing triple-verified at the airport but nothing to be picked up at the hotel. DOUBLE FAIL. However, both trips and both drivers were great - friendly and drove well. We were picked up a few minutes early and arrived on time without fearing for our lives either way. WIN. If we do use SuperShuttle again, I would definitely not book through a third-party vendor. Avoid paying double for the lack of a piece of paper with information identical to our itinerary, ID and system information and book another way. read more

They are an affordable compromise between cost and speed of airport transit, but they are awful awful drivers. Some drivers refuse to lift passenger baggage and put it in the van. Still they look for a tip. Some drivers drop passengers off around the corners from their homes because it's inconvenient to drive that distance. This may be the economical solution to airport travel, but we require a little customer service. We are paying them, dammit. read more

Should have read the reviews before I booked but I guess that's my fault. Terrible service . We waited at least half an hour for our shuttle to arrive, amidst shifty eyed employees refusing to make eye contact because then they would have to explain . When the driver for our assigned van shows up, he throws his hands up in the air refusing to load the luggage. Then one of the reps says she'll line up our luggage and tells us to get in the van. The minute we get in we are asked to get off, with the surly driver statinh this wasnt our van. Even though I received email and texts stating the van number! Still waiting. Employees still shifty eyed . read more
