I've read a lot of reviews saying this is the hands down best taco spot. I highly disagree. I've gone now 5 times. The carne asada is unseasoned. You get a lot of meat ALOT. But there is no flavor. I personally love the chorizo but it's very greasy The chicken is seasoned with yellow and green peppers along with tomatoes which I did not like nor did I expect it when I ordered it asking for only cilantro on top. What up yelpers? Today the fat boy thought I'd try what is supposed to be the best tacos in Chicago. This place has been trending heavy as the best in the city. Well I decided to see for myself. This place is a supermarket located in the back of the yard area in the city. They have a small parking lot for the customers and you can also park on the street. The wifey and I went in and it's definitely a Mexican market. Lots of authentic Mexican products. They don't sell any produce except for some Avocados (at least that's All I saw) they do have a butcher area where you can get some fresh meats, chicharrons & carnitas. But the Tacos are in the rear. As we headed towards the back to place our order you notice the eating area where they have stainless steel counters with some stools, plenty of napkins & salsas. Nothing special but very clean! My wife speaks Spanish so she ordered for us. We got 6 tacos at $4.75 per taco. We ordered 1-Asada, rajas con queso, picadillo, carnitas, chorizo and a pollo. All tacos come with chopped onions & cilantro & lime. Wifey has a Horchata and I had a Jarritos (grapefruit flavor). The lady who took our order was very nice. They were crowded but they get your order out fast!! For the tacos. The Asada (steak) was very tender and flavorful nothing special just a good taco. 6/10 at best. The Rajas con queso (peppers & cheese) was very good! It had a nice subtle heat to it also very flavorful 6.5/10. The Picadillo (ground beef) was just ok to me. a little oily for my liking but it also had great flavor 6.3/10. The Carnitas (pork) was very tender and stewed down seasoned very well 6/10. The chorizo (Mexican sausage) was probably my favorite to my surprise because I've never had a chorizo taco that ever liked but this one was fire! Nice texture and seasoning. The only drawback for me was it also was pretty oily. 6.8/10. The Pollo (chicken) Very tender & very flavorful 6/10. I had some of my wife's Horchata and it was nice and refreshing. It had a nice amount of cinnamon & sugar I really enjoyed it. 9/10. They have red & green salsas on the tables. I like Green salsa myself. Theirs wasn't spicy but it was delicious. I liked the consistency of the salsa. 7.5/10 i just wish it was spicy! They give you a lot of meat in the tacos LOTS of meat! Definitely a bang for your buck. As far as them being the best tacos in Chicago? Not close to that. Now granted I haven't had every taco in the city I know these aren't the best tacos in the city. I've had better. If I'm in the area and I have a taste for tacos, maybe I'll drop by. But it's not worth a trip there just for tacos when there are better tacos in Chicago. All in all I'd give them a solid 7/10. A small line at register on a Monday afternoon. Clerk speaks and understands English. Ample cooks, everybody works together. Food was prepared swiftly and hot off the grill. Not all parts of the chicken was chopped finely. Pollo options include stewed or marinated. The menu reports chicken chorizo but not actually available. Only corn tortillas. They don't have those mixed peppers w the marinated carrots and cauliflower, only jalapeños. No rice no beans, only tacos. High priced at $4.75 plus tax for each one. Amazing tacos. Just recently moved into the area and had heard about this place from friends and will definitely be coming here for my taco fix. This review is for the Paco's Tacos served at the back of the store. The tacos here never disappoint. I have been to this location a handful of times with my boyfriend, and have tried the carne asada and pollo guisado tacos. The carne asada tacos were delectable. The meat was tender and juicy, bursting with flavor. The pollo guisado were quite good too, but nothing beats the carne asada. I always smother my tacos with the salsa verde - literally so addicting! The people are always friendly and the service is quick, even during busy hours. Seating is limited, which may be a problem if you are looking to eat there. The last time I was there, I was with my dad who is handicapped and unable to get onto the high bar stools. It was a slight setback for us, but when he saw others getting their tacos, he pushed a chair aside and decided to stand instead of sit at the counter. He said that the setback was not even a setback if the tacos looked that good. Once he took his first bite, he proclaimed that he would always eat here no matter what the seating situation is. This location is smallest of the three. The taqueria is at the back of the restaurant and has a few tables. Unfortunately there isn't enough tables for amount of business this location gets. It's get packed! Fortunately, we got there before the rush came and found a couple seats open to watch the magic happen. I ordered their carne Asada and al pastor tacos. Both were phenomenal. And both tacos were packed full of meat. That's what I love about Pacos Tacos. Their consistency and the no skimping on the meat. Although they don't use skirt steak here either, it is still tasty and full of flavor. The al pastor was also tasty. The last time I had an al pastor at Pacos, something felt off. This is a good (but not great) taco spot on the southside. I think I favored this spot more because it's tucked away in the back of a neighborhood grocery store. The store itself resembles more of a mini mart. I ordered two carne asada tacos and horchata for $6.95; they don't charge tax. The horchata was delicious and one of the better ones I have had in Chicago. It tasted more balanced whereas some others I have tried have been extremely sweet or others have skipped cinnamon altogether. This place is definitely popular among the southsiders in the area and it appears to have a steady stream of business. If you can't grab a seat at the counter, where you can watch them prepare the food, you might be able to grab one of the few tables available. read more

Onion and cilantro on my tacos. They're not stingy with the salsa! Some folks were eating their tacos in the store and you can see the cook at the grill. It's inside of a supermarket which is something different than I'm used to but if you need to pick me up a few things you can kill 2 birdsb with one stone. 5 tacos for about $13. Bomb tacos! This taqueria is in the back of a grocery store so its hidden away. They have huge tacos. I always get tongue which are $4 per taco which is pricey but they are worth it. On the corner of Ashland and 46th., "Supermercado La Internacional" is the Back of Yards neighborhood represent for their working-class tacos! Yes, head all the way to the back. There's a taqueria and all tacos are made-to-order. By the way, this place is BUSY, but Rosa J. and hubby were able to spot two (2) stool seats by the cashier. Most patrons speak fluently Spanish, so was my Italian hubby. There's no shyness if you want good food. The cashier and cooks were friendly and helpful regardless what language you choose to communicate. Hubby and I consumed four (4) carne asada, one (1) lengua, one (1) pollo, two (2) orders of horchata. The total was $18.60. Since the cost of living in the city of Chicago has elevated drastically due to that never-ending increase of tax, dinner for two (2) under $20 is considered reasonable. These tacos were amazing! The portion of well-seasoned meat was abundant in each taco. Based on other Yelp reviews, they recommended "dine-in" instead of "carry-out," for a significant difference with the amount of meat. While I couldn't scientifically validate this hypothesis, I "eye-balled" some of the to-go orders and concluded that some Yelpers' observations leading to formulate such hypothetical statement could speculatively be true. Their free parking lot is quite tight and cramped, so hubby opted for paid street parking on 46th. If you want to "cheat," make sure that the meter guys are enjoying their tacos while you're doing the same. Run out the door and pretend that you're moving your vehicle whenever they are done eating.
