I have been coming here for years since I was a child. The food is still delicious and fresh, as always. My go to is the tacos de asada. Every time they are perfect. The meat is crispy and tender. Tacos are served with a double tortilla. 10/10 I absolutely love their salsas here. Service is quick and easy. They usually have everything ready in under 15 minutes. If you are looking for delicious and generous tacos this is the place where you can find them. read more

Atotonilco serves the best al pastor tacos in the city. Kedzies Atotonilcos tasted just a tad bIt off but still very tasty. The process is very simple. First you bring some cash because they don't take credit cards. You seat yourself and then order some al pastor tacos. They'll slice them right off the spit chop it all up and then cook it with their spicy sauce. It's literally a process that takes less than 3 minutes. The tacos do have a nice kick to them, but the al pastor is perfectly cooked. Yeah they serve other tacos and tortas but the tacos is where it's at. Once you're I recommend you order a strawberry licuado to go. You won't regret it! Service was great here. The restaurant is very clean and a spacious. Don't come to this particular location often, but would recommend it to anyone that lives in the area. read more

the food was alr but the workers were very rude and were talking bad about one of their customers.

If you want good tacos this is the place!!! Service is excellent!!! I really enjoyed eating tacos here!

If I could this shit 0 stars I would food ain't even good over priced to the fucking max each taco like 5$ not worth it

I usually get my torta to go, but it's a great place with a great torta. It's larger than the average torta. Served with good unique salsa. They are one of the few late night places by my house. Very nice staff too! read more

Real Nasty attitude from the big cashier guy (with mustache) this place is a joke! Con su cara de amargado como si le hubiéramos pedido algo gratis para comer. Todavía que uno va como cliente a ese restaurant nos ponen jetas! Won't go back to pay almost $5 dollars per taco. read more

This place is a joke, overpriced and the meat is flavorless and dry, we just placed an order tonight and not worth it. There is no flavor whatsoever, my daughter who usually loves tacos said she can't eat it, it tastes like nothing. Definitely not coming back here. read more

So here's the thing.... I love Mexican food I don't think I get tired of it I actually would probably get tired of pizza before I get tired of Mexican This place had great quality tacos, but under seasoned meat It was really really unfortunate and disappointing ITS THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT (my girlfriend would say "Stop yelling) I mean really it's great quality and is pretty authentic, BUT they lack the sazon One thing I loved about this place is the pickled cauliflower and carrots they serve as a complimentary appetizer They're delicious They've got great customer service as well read more

This spot is a gem! Tacos de al pastor are the go to! Make sure to bring cash. Parking lot is a bit small

I love this little shop in the heart of Little Village. The Steak and al pastor tacos are the best. Made right in front of you with very fast service. read more

I've been coming here for a while since it's a quick and go place for me. You can be in an out within 10 minutes. I personally like their pastor tacos because it has a spicy flavor to it w/onions. & their homemade lemonade. The reason I'm giving such a low rating is because their attention and quality to service is going down. I went in today and order my pastor tacos and asada WITH cebolla and cilantro since they normally do lettuce and tomato. I even cut him off before he asked what I wanted on top because of that. A few weeks ago I ordered on the phone and got plain tacos I was so mad, but I didn't even go back. Who would've thought even after I walked in to order today they still forgot my damn toppings. Like really? IT WAS EMPTY. And he still got my order wrong lol wow. read more

Atotonilco Tortilleria - Taco de pastor (spicy) and asada w/cebolla y cilantro.. their carrots are soooo yummy too, they have an oregano/spicy flavor to it - Mexican Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Best tacos al pastor in the city without a doubt (well in my opinion)! Pair the tacos with a Liquado de fresa (strawberry milkshake) sounds gross, but I promise you will not regret it! Tacos are so good that when my grandma comes to Chicago from the motherland, she could have tacos from here every day. Literally. read more

This place is lowkey trash . No flavor . Burnt food . And a stomach ache right after . SERVICE though was off the chain.

Okay so tell me why my gf was ordering and all she asked for was 1 burrito and 2 tacos. The short stubby looking man walked away as soon as she finished ordering and didn't even let me order my food. Ok goofy ass I'm sorry we're fat but you ain't have to make us feel all fat about it like damn. 1 star for the fat shame read more

Got stuck overnight at Chicago Midway super late on a Sunday and had to get a hotel (MDW in winter sucks!) Everything around except White Castle and other fast food was open. We found Atotonilco on Yelp and Ubered over. Thank goodness we ventured out because the food was delicious and we were able to sit down and eat instead of running through a drive thru. We tried the El Pastor and chicken tacos and they were both delicious. The El Pastor though were a step above the chicken for me, had a great flavor and were piled high for a small tortilla. Three for me was great and they gave us a free side of pickled carrots, cauliflower and I think Jalapeños. Staff was friendly and accommodating considering how late we rolled in. On a long enough layover at Midway, I might just consider avoiding the normal airport food court and venture back to the land of delicious tacos! read more

Talk about OVERRATED! Well, someone, (namely ME) is finally here to knock this franchise down a few pegs. I ate at the one in Worth off 111th...and since this IS a franchise, one can intelligently assume the food basically tastes the same at all their locations. SInce I ordered 3 different types of tacos there can be NO CONFUSION that this wasnt an off night for them. I ordered 3 tacos on flour (for me, flour is the ONLY way to order a taco....corn overpowers the flavors) Steak, Chicken and the much touted "Al Pastor", ie, marinated pork. Aside from the chicken (which came in chunks instead of shredded and marinated) these were the DRIEST, blandest tasting CRAP tacos Ive ever eaten! The steak and pork were chopped so fine and from being so dry they basically DISINTEGRATED in my mouth as if I were fed sawdust. YUCK. The cheese wasnt even a good mexican crumbly cheese but was the melty no flavor type they use at Pete's Market when ya order their bland stuffed chili relleno. Dont believe the hype about this place folks - I review mexican food SOBER. ;-) read more

Umm how have I not written a review for this place yet?? I've been coming here for almost ten years now and this is THE place to which I compare all other taco joints. Atotonilco is absolutely the bestestestestest place to get a carne asado taco anywhere in the city (although my bf does love the al pastor also) and probably the country too!! They give you HUGE tacos overflowing with really really good steak (no hard fatty gristle here) at $2 a taco but the thing that stands out most about these tacos have got to be their tortillas. What's the big deal about tortillas you ask? You will never know until you try them here! Atotonilco makes their own tortillas (and sells them in grocery stores) and what makes them so unique is that they lightly dip them in oil before putting it on the grill so you end up with a slightly crisp (but still soft) greasy tortilla that goes oh so perfectly well with the steak. Every bite is truly like a little piece of taco heaven. The shakes here are also to die for, especially the strawberry one. The horchata is a little on the sweet side for some people but thats how I like mine so its always perfect for me :) Oh how I wish I still lived on the southside or that they would open up a location on the northside. But making the half hour drive is sooooo worth it! read more

LoAll tacos were dry and meat was tasteless . We ordered asada taco, picadillo taco, avocado tacos. For a place that sells tortillas wholesale you would think they are good tacos. Not really. Our tortillas were dry and fell apart. Must have been old tortillas. When we arrived, all the available tables were dirty. I had to clean the table myself with the napkins left on the table. Gross. The server was ok. Polite. Food was mediocre. I will not be returning. Very dissapointing. Weired thing, we saw a waiter pouring the horcharta from a dirty bucket into the dispenser. Kinda gross. read more

I love this place! I have been going here for at least 20 years now. Although the prices have gone significantly up and the portions have become smaller and smaller it is still my go to spot, especially drunk lol! One of the downsides is that I wished the served sides like rice and beans. Cash only and make sure you bring your own cash because their ATM will rob you and you will have to call your bank lbvs. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE the tacos! BEST tacos in town! The salsa is so bomb too. Really spicy but the best salsa for tacos I've tasted. The milkshakes are super good as well. A little pricey but honestly worth it. Cash only place which I don't like so make sure you take cash. read more

Our go to taqueria! We drive from Des Plaines to this restaurant (besides having family staying near there). Nothing beats them!! We have gone to comales, pacos tacos (also delicious), and solazo. Why are people coming on here to review Tortillas bought at Eurofresh?!!! Nothing to do with this restaurant!!! And then people talking about " The only way to eat tacos is with flour tortillas"!!! Seriously?! Your palette will be happier at "Chipotle" not at an authentic Mexican restaurant. Atotonilco tacos are delicious and it mostly has to do with the tortillas, they are awesome! The cons is that parking is scarce and they don't take credit cards. read more

Recommend the tacos de al pastor haven't had a chance to eat because of Covid but can't wait to go again

Service can sometimes be quick or they can drag. I always get the asada tacos. I add cilantro and cebollas . The prices have gone up. For that idk if paying 12 for just 3 tacos is worth it. A torts has gone up to 6.50. read more

Best Al pastor tacos and licuado de fresas in Chicago, always fast and great service.

Had to come out here and try this place. All the times I've visited this area and never stopped by. First of all, horchata was great. My kids enjoyed the drink and wanted more... Food is top notch. And again my kid's love the tacos de carne asada! Thank you so much for allowing my suburban kids to try this place. read more

I love getting tacos and tortas from here! Their asada (steak) is really good! The tortas are also very delicious they toast the bread on the grill and it makes such a difference. I usually ask for my tacos with avocado and it makes the tacos so much tastier! The only down side to this restaurant is that they only accept cash, but it's worth the trip to the bank. Their pickled carrots are sooo tasty as well! Writing this makes me want to go get some right now! Haha read more

I thought for sure I'd eat a torta, some tacos, a side of cebollitas, and then consider dessert...but, I started with the order of a torta de carne asada as to not scare my family. It wasn't pretty, but it was tasty. At the table were tacos of all kinds, tortas, a carne asada plate, agua de tamarindo and horchata. It was all very tasty and filled us up. The prices are very reasonable at $4.50 for a torta and $11.50 for a carne asada plate which is a huge portion of meat, rice, beans, half an avocado, grilled serrano peppers, and green onions. It's not fancy, but it's a good place to get some solid Mexican food. They have a small parking lot, and be warned everyone in the area seems to drive an oversized SUV, so you might not fit in a space or drive down the street with ease. Otherwise, definitely worth hitting up. read more

If I could give it no stars I would this place is so nasty and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. All the stories I've heard about this place is insane and everyone ends up with food poisoning. So if u don't want go to work the next morning this will be the place to go to. read more
