10/10 This place is absolutely phenomenal. It's a family run business and they take customer service extremely seriously. One thing that stood out to me was the effort they showed in planning appointments and what not, they respect your time, and are very personable. I went in to get my car key cut and programmed for my Subaru and Ben had it made in a week! This place is so much more than getting house keys and every day keys made. They are very knowledgeable and do a great job. Skip Home Depot and Lowe's and go straight to superior lock read more

Amazing company!! I had my truck bed cover key break off in the lock when opening one morning so I took my truck to this business. Absolutely friendly staff who are willing to help in any way they can. Even though this happened months ago, I was just thinking about the wonderful people who helped me out and wanted to make sure I don't forget to leave a review! The prices for their services are very fair. If I'm ever in the area and need this type of service again, they're going to be my first stop/call! read more

Superior Lock & Key - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Rochester Hills, Michigan

I had a complicated situation with new transponder, keys and fobs. BEN was very attentive and eager to help. He made suggestions and clearly what he and his equipment can do. He has very expensive equipment for coding chip automotive keys, after explaining my requirements, he jumped right into it. My complicated situation only took about an hour. He made suggestions on how to cut the titanium keys, (my original request) but I didn't have them do it, we both agreed that it would ruin his equipment, and didn't want to run the risk. I personally and totally recommend this family run establishment for all your locksmith needs. read more

It was great that they were able to get me a new keyfob on the same day. Just disappointed that the fob didn't last a year before the leftgate button started working intermittently, then not at all. Otherwise, have had consistent good service in the past. read more

The very best in quality and service! I highly recommend them for all your lock/key work!

Nothing but praise for Joe! I called around to 5 other locksmiths and every other company told me no they wouldn't work on an e-bike which needed to be rekeyed! Joe told me to bring it in and within 25 minutes had me 2 new working keys! Amazing work! 10/10 would recommend and use them again! Thank you so much! read more

Walked in with a broken key fob and Ben hooked it up by programming 2 new ones. You can tell he knows exactly what he was doing and I was in and out within 20 minutes. Ben even managed to get my broken fob fixed as well . Walked in with 0 working fobs and walked out with 3 that works perfectly. Highly recommend superior lock and key to anyone and everyone as they are professional and want YOU to be satisfied. read more

This is the place to go for copying keys! It took less than a minute and cost about $2 for one copy. The Home Depot can never match the price or speed of service that these guys have! Thanks sl&k!! read more

This is the best place to go when replacing a smart key/fob for a car. Ask for Ben. It is a lot cheaper than a dealership. Ben is fast and friendly. My experience exceeded my expectation. read more

Called them at 10:00 with a problem. Bought my own key just needed it programmed. He cautioned me on the risks of buying a key online and told me to do a little research. Called back had the key programmed and cut in 20 minutes. The rates were great. Highly recommended!!!! read more

Quick, helpful, efficient, inexpensive... This is my second time at SL&E...the only reason it's not a 5 star is, the cat that waited on me was sort of a dud....not rude, just not very friendly...I'll be a repeat customer due to the business, but even for personal use, I'd go here again... $2.07 for one key made, I'll take it! read more

Ben was friendly, honest and efficient. He replaced two key FOBs for a 2013 truck & 2021 Equinox for less money than the dealership. We highly recommend his company. read more

Wonderful place. My car key can't be made correctly at any place but the dealership or a locksmith so I came to get additional spares. Fast service and friendly staff, excellent prices. I noticed on the sign outside they do remotes also, so I'll come here to get them done, lost one and the other isn't working well even with a new battery. read more

Went to home depot to get a key copied and for some reason one of my house key had a specific groove that their machine couldnt copy. It was just a normal key so i was confused so i yelped this place and decided to give them a try, in and out in less than 5 mins and only a buck more. Well worth it in my opinion read more

Save Your Money and Save Yourself from Aggravation with Dealing with this company. Needed New Keys made to fit New Lock. He arrives with the ability to make only One Single Key because his machine was broken. And as a result other matching keys don't work. If he came with operational equipment there wouldn't have been a problem. And then he refused to return to make it right without charging me again. Stay Away! read more

horrible first impression. They were completely rude and thought they were better then me. offered very little help and were complete jerks. I would never consider using them. read more

Rude, terrible attitudes, unprofessional and unaccommodating! It's amazing to think these people consider themselves business persons. I would never recommend them and will be taking our business elsewhere as soon as possible. read more

Had a great experience with this family owned company and highly recommend them. I called a few months ago with questions about having my locks re-keyed and Becky answered all of my questions with ease. She scheduled my appointment and her son Ben came out to re-key the locks. Ben was on time, worked efficiently and gave me some additional advice about security. He even went out of his way to recommend another company to help. They are both clearly experienced & knowledgable in their field and I appreciated their professionalism. They have the kind of enthusiasm & passion that make small businesses so great. Months later I'm still enjoying their quality work. read more

Needed a replacement key fob and key for a late model car. They had the parts in stock. I was in and out in less time than it takes for a dealer to check me in. Programming worked perfectly. Quality family owned business. Their professionalism begins with the courtesy of their office staff and how they coordinate lead times with the guys in the field for pin point arrivals. This family is knowledgeable & reliable, and fast. Will definitely be supporting this business again. read more

Rich was super helpful and assisted me via email and over the phone. Amazing service and I would highly recommend this place.

Joe helped me out with a lock issue, did not try to up-sell me in any way, and was as professional as they get.

Great service. Family owned. Super helpful. They helped me twice. Once with a safe that needed lost keys replaced and then with a specialty doorknob replacement. Attention to detail and very kind. read more

I am sure that this company is knowledgeable in its field.. However, I cannot say the same for their honesty. I purchased a replacement key and fob for my car as I only had one key. I talked to Superior on the phone asking if they could cut and program it for me. They agreed that they would do it, and it would cost $80. Of course, since I had purchased the key fob elsewhere, there would be no guarantee. I agreed to those conditions and went to their establishment. When I arrived, I was told that it would be impossible to cut my key because it was made of steel and not brass. In fact, I was told that I would not be able to find a locksmith willing to cut the key for me because it would tear up their cutter. I wrote to the company who sold me the replacement key to express my dissatisfaction if purchasing a key that could not be cut. The company told me that was ridiculous and that they supplied keys to many locksmiths in my area. Needless to say, with their help, I easily found several others willing to cut and program my key. The only thing I can imagine is that Superior would not do it unless I went to the further expense of purchasing a fob from them. Whereas I am sure that they would do an efficient job at cutting the key, I cannot say that I would trust them to do it. read more
