This review is a long time coming!…read more I first found SJR landscaping on yelp to design and landscape our entire yard in North Hollywood. Since then, I have worked with Hector and his team for years across multiple properties for many things. I have used them for: -tree trimming, tree cutting (large trees!), & stump removal -brush clearance -complete landscaping design (full grading, turf, watering systems, plants, planters, DE, etc) -hardscaping and concrete These guys really know what they are doing. They will really work with you to figure out exactly what you need. They are always thinking about how to deal with the details (drainage, plant locations, watering locations/logistics) And their quotes always come in lower than other places... Stay in touch with Hector during the process and you will be sure to get everything you need. Like I say, I've been working with them so long, they feel like family at this point! They really are a one-stop shop for everyting. That is another thing I love about them - they arent pushy. They will come out and discuss the project, give you an estimate, and won't try to strongarm you into hiring them. Its hard to find someone you can communicate with, work with, and not feel pressured. I remember the first time we hired them - all other places felt like they were pushing their ideas on us, but Hector always listened and strategized WITH us. 10/10 all around. Will be using them for as long as we need work! I wish I had more photos to share.

I was especially impressed by the trustworthiness and professionalism demonstrated by both the ownership and the entire crew. Their workmanship was exceptional, and the quality of the materials used was outstanding, particularly given the reasonable price. I have already recommended Green Pride Landscaping to my neighbors, friends, and family, and I will absolutely use them again for future landscaping projects. I highly recommend Green Pride- Jesse Commons to anyone looking for a dependable company that delivers excellent quality and value.

Working with Jesse has been nothing but a nightmare. At the beginning, he was flaky and…read moreunresponsive. I had to reach out multiple times before I even got a reply back. After the job was completed in three separate areas of our front and backyard, we came home to a flood in the backyard. I sent him a video and he advised how to turn the water off because his guy did not cap something. Then the next day I go to turn one of the valves on and it's spewing water out. His guy returned to tighten it and said if this happens again, they will replace it. Well, the second time I went to use it it's against spewing water out today. He came back to tighten it again and refused to replace the gasket or anything. I will just have to call somebody else for repair. The third area that he worked on he put a new valve and our timer is not working to it. It looks like the wires were cut. I had to hire somebody else to repair that area. Basically every single area that he worked on either wasn't done right in the first place or I had call another company out to repair their work. We paid Jesse in full with a tip (before I knew all of the work was defective) so I felt that I needed to let him know of the issues. Today when I called him on the phone to go over everything he was irate, cussing, and beyond furious and could not talk professionally. He called me a liar multiple times and blamed me for the valve leaking because we did not use the timer on it. I had to explain to him and his guy even had to tell him that there's no timer connected to this area. He didn't believe us..that is when I went into telling him about the other timer not working in the other area and he didn't want to hear it. I didn't even dare tell him that we had to hire somebody else to fix it! We will not be referring him or working with him ever again. I suggest you do the same.

In fact, they might just be our favorite company, period. Why? No sooner did I call them to give us an idea about a particular area of our yard that we wanted to address, than they made an appointment immediately, came out right on time, and were so darn nice while being obviously knowledgeable that I almost thought I was dreaming. Curtis is a joy to interact with. Smart, friendly, immediately grasping the issues involved and able to come up with an elegant strategy to deal with them, ones we hadn't imagined ourselves. Each time we have scheduled work, they show up on the dot, their staff are dressed professionally in company colors, friendly and efficient as well. Bryan, who started this company forty years ago, also came out and spent a very hot day making sure everything was just right. He and Curtis are experts, in demand, but so neighborly that you forget they are contractors. And, they are beyond fair in their pricing. You always get more than you expect, beyond what you are paying for with Smith. They left us smiling and thrilled with their work each time, and feeling like we are all old friends. Their schedule fills up fast, so make sure you give them plenty of notice. Once you work with them, you won't be happy with anyone else.

I can't count how many contractors we've used over the years, but I just got so tired of being jacked around on prices, sloppy work, trash left around my yard, and people not doing the job I paid them for. Dramatic Landscaping's owners Alex and Tomas are both great guys and total straight shooters. No B.S. or hard selling whatsoever. They only employ hard working men, who were courteous and respectful of our home at all times. These guys make your property look exactly the way you want it to. And it's beautiful work for a very fair price. I've had professionals in the business estimate that we paid far more than we did. If you're in need of landscaping and/or hardscaping, do yourself a favor and give Dramatic Landscaping a call before hiring anyone else. Let their front man Alex look at your place and give you a quote. I can virtually guarantee you'll hire them. They've now done 3 jobs for us on different properties, including our former ranch house that they made look so good we actually got more than our asking price for it. We've referred them to five other families so far, and I've received thank you calls from every one of them. I'll wait for your call.

Avoid Dramatic Landscaping at all costs unless you enjoy being dragged into messy partner disputes…read moreand being billed twice for the same service. In January, they sent notices claiming Kathy's Landscaping had simply changed its name to Dramatic Landscaping, assuring customers that "ownership, crew, services, and quality of work all remain the same." That turned out to be completely false. In reality, the brothers running the company had a split, divided their customer base, and left their backend billing in utter chaos. Instead of resolving their own inter-company issues, Dramatic suddenly deployed aggressive, rehearsed collections tactics on the phone, demanding that I pay an additional $1,050 for the past eight months. They completely ignored written records, brushed off their previous commitments, and attempted to make their failure to collect funds from their former business partner my problem. Demanding double payment from a customer who has been proactive and continuously auto-billed every month is unacceptable business practice. Highly unprofessional, disorganized management, and zero accountability. Save yourself the headache and hire a landscaping company that knows how to manage its operations without trying to shake down its clients.
