I love Superior Grill. But, this was different. I get the same thing and somehow my nachos were burnt and the chips were cold. I asked for a non alcoholic margarita on the rocks and he laughed at me. I know, they are known for the good stuff. But I was driving and he literally told me they could not do that. I asked twice bc I thought he didn't hear me say on the rocks. Everyone was nice and attentive and aside from the drink it was still very good just not great like usual. read more

This place is a vibe all to its own. It's a great Mexican Restaurant for a date night or a group. Service is prime and kind. All of the waiters and waitresses wear black and white suits and ties without a jacket. They are always polite. This is a late night Tex Mex staple in Shreveport known for their margaritas. Plenty of classic Mexican dishes. It gets fairly busy so even with a large parking lot, they fill up quickly. The interior is much like a large dive bar; plenty of servers but service can be spotty. The food is decent; your classic Texmex dishes. We've been to this location a few times, and each time we are not disappointed. We chose to sit at a bar height table for 2 in the bar area. Timely service, consistent with food freshness + preparation, and presentation. Kind, friendly, and professional (quick) service. The decor reminds you of a well settle place to sit down, partake and visit for a while. Reasonable prices, great facilities. I ordered the pulled port quesadilla - medium sized w/pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. The husband had the pulled pork taco plate which included rice, beans, pico de gallo and guacamole. Superior's strength is (apologies to Arby's) their meat. Not that they do other things poorly, but IMHO, the meats are the stars of the show. I found the salsa to be pedestrian (though my companions felt otherwise), and some of the sides were no big deal. But the beef in my tacos al carbon was tender and delicious. And the marinated chicken in my companion's dish was heavenly. Good service, nice, traditional ambiance. Superior is a reliable spot for traditional, quality Tex-Mex. read more

This place is terrible now and it's all thanks to their manager, Carlos. He's the hunchback, bug-eyed, 5'6" looking gremlin you see waiting tables there. Nobody wants to work for him and Superior has gone from the best restaurant in Shreveport / Bossier to something you need to skip and just pop in a microwave dinner because that's exactly what it tastes like now. The prices are outrageous too while quality and service went down so I'm not sure what they were thinking there. read more

My food was really cold and it's such a small crowded place and so loud. So confusing just trying to find a hostess to be seated.. The tables are just so close together you can barely move. My favorite place to eat in Shreveport and the only place I go for margaritas and Mexican food. The service there has me very spoiled ( Thanks Hannah, Bryce & Kobe) and keeps me coming back. We love celebrating family birthdays or really any special occasion there. Whether on the patio, at the bar or sitting in the main dining area, the ambiance is great!! We love their fajitas, enchiladas and the queso especially that original. Went today for Lunch, with a friend. It was busy. Got seated qwikly. Restaurant was clean and the Music was nice. Our server was Hannah... she was AMAZING! Great start with crisp thin chips and flavorful salsa, followed by guacamole. The guacamole was fantastic and was plated with a tostada and a side of pico de gallo. I had the El Paso plate. One chicken enchilada, a cheese enchilada with chili con carne (the ccc was just ok), a taco al carbon(1/2 of the taco al carbon meal!) , tamale, and a very good cheese chile relleno, rice and beans. I give four stars because the El Paso was not plated in a very appealing way. Service was EXCELLENT. Ambiance is great. If I were a drinker, this place would be one of my go-tos! For next time: If alone I'll try the brisket tacos; if two, we can share the El Paso, or I'll try the blue corn flat enchiladas. If in a group, I'll try the tableside guac. read more

This is me and my husband's first time visiting this establishment. We went on a Saturday around 12:30 pm. Very busy lunch crowd so it was quite noisy. Don't go if you want a quiet atmosphere. This is one of the places that people say is a "boutique Mexican restaurant " you're paying high prices because of its popularity. No customer should ever leave a restaurant feeling humiliated or questioning whether they were treated unfairly because of the color of their skin. Restaurants should be places where everyone is welcomed with dignity, respect, and professionalism. I chose your establishment expecting excellent food and courteous service. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, deeply disappointed, and disturbed by the overall experience. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. However the fish was dry, the shrimp was overcooked and the veggies (that she replaced for the fries) was the highlight of her meal. Let's start with the service: It's about the only thing that saves them from a"1 or 2". The service was excellent! I made reservations 3 weeks in advance for a surprise birthday party for my mother. 8-12 people on the patio at 2:00 on a Sunday. I followed up on the Thursday before to confirm. All on green, we go. My mother is totally surprised! They played right along with our ruse, right up to the very end of all the sneakiness and trickery! Thank you, Superior! Now, on to the food: The food was really good! I love fish tacos! Every time I try a new Mexican restaurant, I have to try the fish tacos. But.....I've had better. At more reasonable prices (I'll get to that in a minute). Keep in mind, I love love LOVE Mexican food! It was good! But I've had just as good or better much cheaper! The problem here is that the fish tacos that I ordered (at 2 for $12.95) were served in a plastic Dairy Queen basket! Come on, man! Then there's the prices: As if the 2 for $12.95 in a Dairy Queen basket wasn't enough, here comes the $20.00 margarita served in a styrofoam cup! The margarita was excellent (Heavy on the tequila)! But $20.00?! Again.....Great margarita, but I've had just as good for a more reasonable price. If I buy a $20.00 margarita, I'd at least like it served in something besides a styrofoam cup! In closing, here's the way I break it down: Great service, good food, less than desirable prices. read more

This place has been a "hot-spot" forever. It takes some heat for being loud, more bar than restaurant & the most popular complaint that I hear; "I smell like smoke when I walk out". That "smoke" you smell is exactly that. Pure mesquite smoke that is imported & burned to enhance the flavors of the grilled meat. Superior actually imports & pays additionally to have this wood shipped in from Texas. Nobody else is doing it, so enjoy the flavor & spend a little money @ your local dry-cleaner afterwards. The crowd & the noise is a generational indicator that this is the place to hang-out. The fajitas are a bit pricey, but worth the cost. The beef is high quality & prepared well. Was told there was a 40 min wait.... We've now been here 2 hours, and they have seated 6 people. When I walked up to ask the hostesses, a lad in front on me, handed they girl 20.00 to jump in line.
