It's been almost 2 years since we've been here so we wanted to try it again. Unfortunately, the food is still not good. I don't know how there's so many people saying the food is great. Really? I went in to order some food to go. A variety of items so we'd have lots of things to try. I asked for a menu and was given a menu that was greasy with food on it. Not a good start. This was my first time trying this particular restaurant. We arrived with a party of (8) and was told it would be 15-20 minutes to be seated for the restaurant was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm. They actually got our table ready in about 10 minutes. They have a nice covered patio for the outdoor seating, but we got seated inside which was fine by us. Our waitress was quick to arrive and took our drink orders. She brough our drinks out and then proceeded to take our order, making sure there were no question about anything on the menu. They have quite an extensive food menu and drink menu (full bar) as well. They even have a kids menu for the little ones. The salsa and chips arrived, they bring the salsa out in a small flask which is great, you don't have to keeping getting a refill as often. We ordered some guacamole and queso for the table, the queso came out nice and hot. The guacamole in my opinion was okay, but just seemed to be missing something to give it that pop, but nonetheless we polished off the guac. The food arrived and their where no issues with any of our items. Our waitress was on point checking in on the table to make sure everyone's food was okay and refilling our drinks. Food was fine. It is hard to mess up Mexican food. Our server was fine. The balance of the employees were just unpleasant. The hostess grumbled when we asked to move to the many empty booths. She never asked us our preference. The hostess should be a gregarious and happy person. We should also get a thank you on the way out the door. Not likely that we will return. The food was good. But I was charged regular price for a half & half margarita, where anywhere else it is still considered a happy hour price. I tried to ask the waiter about the charge but he did nothing to correct the bill. We've had other issues in the past & tried to give them another chance. Probably will not ever go back. read more

But there was no waiting. Also - no waiting for a server. Alex took our drink order and left us to decide what we wanted. He returned with a wrong beverage- but corrected it immediately. The salsa is hot. Don't be afraid of spice . These folks like it. Dad ordered a burrito and ATE IT ALL. Mom ordered bacon wrapped shrimp that looked like is was quite Diablo. The menu doesn't say spicy. But this shrimp LOOKED hot. I ordered the locos tacos and liked them. The tomatillo sauce was too smoky and too salty. I left it behind. I went here for the first time with my dad and brother who have been here before. We got sat right away, but it took almost ten minutes for some one to even take our drink order. Once we the drinks we were ready to order but our waiter dropped the drinks and walked away. When we flagged him down we ordered.I hade the Chori Pollo. I loved it. It was a lot of good and I'm glad I held back on the chips and salsa while waiting. My brother got the chicken fajitas. They were ok. Nothing special, but an ok dinner. My dad got the fiesta platter, one of each : chili relleno, chalupa, crunchy taco, tamale, and enchilada. They all can beef and covered and stuffed with cheese. Too much and too much of the same flavors. Over all of was ok. The best Mexican food I've tasted thus far since living in Shreveport. I haven't tried them all but I'm impressed by this spot. Nice open concept with a lot seating even on the patio. Our waiter was nice. Seems like if you're a local, frequent visitor, you receive better service and attention. It was my first time, but the service was still great. Definitely enjoyed the queso. They probably have the best Spanish rice I've ever tasted. Great portions. The steak in the verdes enchiladas was flavorful and the salsa verde was spicy (which I loved). Hands down fave Mexican place in Shreveport! My husband always gets the nachos and my go-to is the chimichanga. I also love their chips and salsa- spicy but good! Their food is on the saltier side so beware...but still taste good! We have only dined in at the restaurant once and the service was pretty good- and fast! I ordered Beef Nachos for lunch, not the fajita beef that were described more as a fajita dish with grilled veggies which I don't want on nachos. The ground beef nachos came to as a pile of tostados piled on a plate and then scattered with big chunks of seasoned ground beef. All of this was covered in melted white cheese. No garnish whatsoever. I'm used to a more assembled plate of nachos and this didn't come close. Pretty disappointed. One of my companions ordered a chicken relleno and she got beef with sour cream sauce. I'm going to have to think about returning to this restaurant. read more

I've been here several times for lunch, and I'm a big fan. Get there early enough to sit on the patio! I love a good pat, and the inside feels a little cramped in my opinion. I was excited to try this place but was definitely disappointed. I ordered a combination plate that did not come with rice and beans....Yes, that's right. I have never been to a restaurant that made you order rice and beans as a side dish. When my combination plate arrived it was a tamale, a burrito, and an enchilada SWIMMING in queso. Not complaining about that part because at least I didnt have to buy the small queso. The tamale was hard at the ends and the other two items were salt filled. Two people in our party ordered quesadillas and the shredded cheese comes on the side not melted. Again, that was a first. Every place has an off night and maybe this was theirs. read more

I'll admit, the last time I was there it took a good 10-15 minutes till I was seated and then another for someone to come and get my drink.
