Large portion of this chunky guacamole. They have regular guacamole and this other chunky style. I prefer this one! So good!

We love this place. No matter what we order, we are impressed with this little cantina off the beaten path

Edited: this is for the BossierCity Location. I didn't realize it's not in Yelp yet. We arrived right smack dab in the middle of dinner. The street was full. Side parking was full. But there was no waiting. Also - no waiting for a server. Alex took our drink order and left us to decide what we wanted. He returned with a wrong beverage- but corrected it immediately. The salsa is hot. Don't be afraid of spice . These folks like it. Dad ordered a burrito and ATE IT ALL. Mom ordered bacon wrapped shrimp that looked like is was quite Diablo. The menu doesn't say spicy. But this shrimp LOOKED hot. I ordered the locos tacos and liked them. The tomatillo sauce was too smoky and too salty. I left it behind. The tortilla was thin and the cheese sauce really made a mess.... But the flavors were on point:

I went here for the first time with my dad and brother who have been here before. We got sat right away, but it took almost ten minutes for some one to even take our drink order. Once we the drinks we were ready to order but our waiter dropped the drinks and walked away. When we flagged him down we ordered.I hade the Chori Pollo. I loved it. It was a lot of good and I'm glad I held back on the chips and salsa while waiting. My brother got the chicken fajitas. They were ok. Nothing special, but an ok dinner. My dad got the fiesta platter, one of each : chili relleno, chalupa, crunchy taco, tamale, and enchilada. They all can beef and covered and stuffed with cheese. Too much and too much of the same flavors. Over all of was ok. I'd go back for happy hour for discount drinks, I just wish they had half priced appetizers or a happy hour platter with an assortment of items.

The best Mexican food I've tasted thus far since living in Shreveport. I haven't tried them all but I'm impressed by this spot. Nice open concept with a lot seating even on the patio. Our waiter was nice. Seems like if you're a local, frequent visitor, you receive better service and attention. It was my first time, but the service was still great. Definitely enjoyed the queso. They probably have the best Spanish rice I've ever tasted. Great portions. The steak in the verdes enchiladas was flavorful and the salsa verde was spicy (which I loved). I really enjoyed my meal to the fullest. I can't wait for my next visit.

Always a great place to eat! Food is excellent! Lunchtime is crowded and the service is on time.

Food quite good. Not oily. Hot. Vegetarian dishes available. Not too salty. We knew waiter as he used to be at Pepes. Will go again.

El Cabo Verde exemplifies fresh. It's in a new development that's attractive, clean, and well…read moredesigned. And that's before you even walk in the front door or take a seat out side. The fresh theme continues with the chips and salsa. All of it's made in house, and these were some of the best chips and salsa I've had in a while. The chips are a light and thin and a little bit tricky to dip without breaking. Two sauces, green and red, are provided and each tastes--not to belabor the term-- fresh. The chile relleno is served on its own in a soup bowl with a light sauce and choice of protein on the outside. The poblano pepper itself is stuffed with cheese, as is proper for chile relleno. Again the sauce, the chili itself, and all the ingredients tasted fresh and light. Unlike most Mexican places, rice and beans is brought on a separate plate and not merged with whatever primary entree you've selected. Here again, fresh: there is rice that's almost like a basmati, and refried black beans that are refreshing change from the typical pinto bean base. Service is prompt, knowledgeable and attentive. I had the pleasure of having Angelo for my waiter. The restaurant staff is predominantly Hispanic, the kind of folks ICE likes to round up. (I really hope this reference become dated real fast). The point is these folks are familiar with Mexican food beyond just the concept of this restaurant. The clientele appears to be primarily local and a steady stream of them were coming through at 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon. Access is convenient from i-49 and not too far from I-20.

Then another lady came and the cashier told her in Spanish what I ordered. The lady turned to me and asked beef, then I said no chicken and I said pollo. She said ok. I get my order and left without checking the bag, they had it tied up and I figured it would be right. When I got home realized it was beef. I called the # on receipt & a guy answered & just said hello. I asked is this the restaurant and he said yes. I told him what happened and he offered to remake it. It had already started drizzling outside but I still was going to go pick it up. Then 5min later the weather had gotten real bad. I call the guy back & told I will not be able to come because the weather was too bad unless they were going to deliver it. I asked can he just put my name down for later that day or another day to get order redone. He said they already remade it, I told him I'm not taking a risk and driving out in this weather for food. He just kept saying we already made it and his worker told him I said beef. I told him that was a lie and he could either put me down for a remake on a later date or refund me. He just repeated again it was already made and hung up in my face. The person that speaks poor English shouldn't be the person that take orders. So unprofessional how this was handled. I paid with my card & gave a tip on a to go order. But since they want to be rude & not resolve the issue they just might loose money on false orders in near future, lol. I can be rude too. I blocked the charge.
