This is one of several Nicky's restaurants in Bossier/Shreveport area. I like the food here and the bartender Vincent is always pleasant and attentive. Other than the bartender I don't find this Nicky's as friendly as the other one on Pines Rd that we visit regularly. This restaurant also lacks the ambience of the other Nicky's. Now if you are in the area I do recommend this place, maybe I'm just biased. The good here is great, the drinks are good and the staff work hard. read more

Chips are always fresh, love the white queso but ours wasn't very warm upon arrival... tasty but barely even lukewarm. Not usually the case. ;) Molcajete was a first for me. Came scary piping hot and could only eat 1/3 of it. Took the rest home. It's meant to be shared. :) The sausage was very spicy. The beef is always super tender and delicious. I do not think I will get this dish again but it was nice to try. :) read more

Don't listen to the past reviewer's who do not know how to understand basic english. Food was amazing, service was amazing. Drinks were constantly filled when below half a cup, any kind of request we made to the food was listened to and adhered to. Salsa was great as always. I'm in town for work and staying across the street from this place and decided to try. I looked online and it said $8 for a house margarita. I ordered a house margarita on the rocks, and my server asked if I wanted a doubly, I thought she meant large ( she spoke broken English) I should of asked how much for a doubly. She brings my doubly in a styrofoam glass. Ordered two crunchy tacos and had one more doubly. Got my bill and the doublie's were $14 each, bill was $44 and change. The kicker is they charge an additional 4% if you don't pay with cash. There premium margaritas were listed at $12 read more

Rip-off Central. Beware: if you order the "2-for-1" margarita special for 4pm-8pm Happy Hour, THEY interpret that to mean that you will get a "double-sized" margarita. Nothing on the menu says that, and your bartender will not tell you that when he/she asks if you're ready for your second margarita. I had to argue with the bartender and the manager about this after I was charged for two margaritas when I THOUGHT I ordered the "2-for-1" (which were the same size). I won, but it is completely misleading. I will not be back. The manager actually tried to justify the overcharge by telling me that a local hotel discount had already been applied. As a sidenote, the crawfish enchilada appeared to be made completely with frozen tiny salad shrimp. read more

I am staying the night at the hotel next to this restaurant. The service here is awful. Staff are very inattentive to customers. You have to flag them down to serve you(not like they are busy literally doing nothing and walk past you) The food after I finally got after asking several times on the status of my order was mediocre at best. Obviously microwaved and for the price should be better quality. They serve drinks in plastic and styrofoam cups. If it was not for I would have to Uber to go somewhere else, I would have walked out. The sad part is the next time I am here the hotel I am staying at suffers, as I won't stay there next time due to this being the only food choice near it. read more

I feel like some of the reviews are a bit harsh. I don't have the impression that Nicky's is advertising as 100% "authentic" to whatever you're used to at home (or in Mexico). I do have the impression that it's the Mexican themed restaurant at the racetrack/casino (or whatever that is over there with the blinking lights on it) and it's convenient to all those local hotels. I liked this restaurant. The decor was really cute. It did read a little "Tuscon" to me, but that's OK. Tuscon is cool. And it's not like Bossier City is a hotbed of highly competitive restaurant excellence. The waitress was very, very nice. The food was plentiful and good. It felt like what I'm used to as standard Mexican-themed food and have gotten in New York, California, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New England, and Germany (long story). I stopped by here since it was near my hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. My waitress was great and the food was good. I had a delicious beef taco and enchilada. I got a half size guacamole since the salsa was a little spicy for me. I loved all of that. The only thing thing that wasn't my favorite was the tamale. read more

Looking for a quick bite for lunch? Nicky's always delivers for a delicious quick lunch. Super fast service friendly waiters and spicy jalapeños!!! I ordered the shrimp tacos with no sides and 4-grilled jalapeños to top it off. Shrimp was grilled perfectly with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. Pros: the chips, salsa, and enchilada plate were very good. The refried beans had a distinct Cajun flavor base and was delicious. Also there were Cajun spices in my ground beef enchilada. Bus staff on top of it. Reasonably priced for lunch. Cons: disinterested waitress and music way, way too loud. That was bad enough but it was pretty frenetic music too. read more

I only had margaritas, and chips an salsa . The margaritas were good , had one frozen and one on the rocks. The frozen ones packed more of a punch , but you can defiantly taste the tequila in both. The salsa was why I gave 4 stars , that and I didn't order anything to eat. I like thin and crispy chips , and these were the thick variety. The salsa wasn't to my liking. I don't care for the big chunks of tomato, it's almost like eating stewed tomatoes. The place did have a nice atmosphere, and the staff were friendly. There is a covered patio , with lots of ceiling fans , for those that like to sit outside. read more

I stop by and no regrets the food delicious not Tex Mex was authentic Mexican food I order fajitas very tender juicy and the restaurant decor unique and I don't even know they have live music so much better. How did this place get three stars? Don't waste your time or money here! I walked in to the bar across the bridge from my hotel, what a waste of time. When I sat down, the bartender said "someone was sitting there", I'm like "cool, I'll move, please get me a Dos Equis Amber" , he says "no, stay right there, they'll move". ?? And then this amigo rides off in to the sunset, behind the stainless door to eternity! After a few minutes, I'm feeling like this dude is never coming back, he's gonna clock out! I guess he did! I left and went back to the Marriott and drank my own cerveza. Twenty years on the road and this amigo left me mystified! Nicky's is a classic go-to Tex-Mex restaurant. They'll never let you down and the food is above average. I usually get the same thing from the enchilada plate or the tamale plate. Can't forget about the free chips and salsa ! read more

Well it all began with the salsa. Not too great! Tastes like it came out of a can. Had a little heat but nothing else. Then the margaritas, the large came in a styrofoam cup which the salt did not stick to at all. I could have handled that if the drink was actually good, which it wasn't. Tastes like it was made with a mix, not a good mix either!! I had the shrimp enchiladas. The shrimp was mushy and had absolutely no flavor at all. We were staying the night at the nearby Marriott and needed a late dinner, so we came to Nicky's. We did take out, so my review is mostly just based on the food. The front door was locked, even though it was not yet closing time. We were able to get in through a back door by the bar and made the order there. It can be very annoying when restaurants or shops close or lock the doors before actual closing time. We did a take out and brought it back to our hotel. I just got a bean and cheese burrito, but they mistook that for a burrito with beans inside and cheese on the outside. Which is fine, but not usually how a bean and cheese burrito comes, oh well. The cheese was more like nacho cheese from a can type to me. It didn't taste bad, but wasn't ideal. The beans and rice that came with it were good and standard. The chips were good, but I wasn't a big fan of the salsa. My husband and child liked what they ordered, but not top of their list. I may be a little picky when it comes to Mexican food because I am originally from southern CA where there is awesome Mexican food. Nicky's was a decent place to get some food! read more

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews. Today was my first time eating at the restaurant and I was very pleased with my experience. I gave it four stars because the salsa needed just a tad bit more flavor, and I like mine to be a little more thick, but other than that everything was great. I ordered the sour cream enchiladas, which were delicious, and I love that the portions are so big for the cheap price that you pay. Also, these folks are very military friendly, and myself and my coworkers really appreciated that. Wouldn't mind coming back here at all. read more

Ate here only because it was across from my hotel. They were great. I called right at closing and at first they told me they were closed, but the manager got on the phone and let me order take out. Shredded beef enchilada was on point with a nice side of rice and beans plus a huge tub of salsa and a fat sack of chips. Under $12 and I could barely finish it.
