#77, chicken Monterey
Allison P.

The queso dip was great, the steak in boo's burrito was great (not chewy like at other Mexican places), the service was great, and the chips were great. The margarita prices (2 for 1) was great, though the taste of the was just okay. The salsa was good but wished it was a tad spicier. My chicken Monterey was good but the cheese on top hardened after it was melted, at which point it wasn't AS good.

Anyone know what this is lol

The food was okay however there was some sort of rock like thing in my refried beans. They also forgot the beans and rice my mom had ordered with her tacos. Service was like okay nothing to write home about. The decor is really dope and the music was nice. Honestly it's pretty mid there's a lot better places to get tacos. The tacos were good tho.

Always great food and great service. Beer specials are the best in the Benton area. I will definitely continue to eat there regularly

Food and services was excellent! They have indoor and outdoor sitting. The inside is a little small but it didn't take long to get a table.

Amazing, best tex mex food north of 220. Fajita steak is wonderfully flavored. Service is alway great.

We recently moved to Northwest Louisiana from Southern California. We've been crazing authentic…read moreMexican food forabout 5 months now. TexMex is a poor imitation of true Mexican food, and we are not fans. Finding La Herradura is a huge win for us. FIrst off, you would think its a dump based on the view from the street. Looks like it might have been a gas station or market with gas pumps at some point in the past, so it would be easy to drive right past. Don't let that look fool you. When you walk inside you see all the trappings of a true Mexican restaurant including colorful flags (who cares that they say Merry Christmas in Spanish?). We arrived early for dinner, more like a late lunch at 4:30 and were the only people in the place. That gave the waiter plenty of time to take care of us. We didn't need the attention really, but it was appreciated none the less. The chips and salsa are awesome. Very thin, warm crisp chips. The salso comes in a small pitcher which was more than enough for us for the whole meal. I get really annoyed when places give you the little bowl of salsa and you have to constantly ask for more. The food was delicious. The floutas were crisp and the meat was hot and flavorful. The fajitas were sizzling as expected and very well seasoned without burning your insides. The tortillas were obviously made on-site and just delicious. Prices are reasonable. The margaritas were a little expensive, but not by much and the beer was very fairly priced. Overall, we felt we got very good value for our money on top of the delicious food.

The food here is always excellent, and our server was attentive. It was a nice quiet place, despite…read morebeing full, for a small dining area.
