First off this place has plenty of tables and the decor makes the place feel happy and fun . They have a bar and deal drinks .. The food I ordered was soooo good , mozzarella spring rolls and pollo con tajadas ( fried chicken under cabbage and plantain) The service was great , kept my iced tea full and checked on how I'm doing regularly. If you don't know Latin food this place is the perfect place to bring family and friends and make a great time out of a wonderful environment. When we arrived at 4:30 (party of 4) there was no one in the parking lot. We were the only guests in the spacious dining room. I don't remember if we took a while to browse the menu (this was our first time) but our food arrived at 5pm. I ordered the : "BIRRIA TACOS MEXICAN #39 ($16) Three yellow corn tacos dipped in birria juice, stuffed with birria beef, cheese, onions, and cilantro then grilled to crisp. Served with mexi- rice and charro beans" they were fantastic. So good!! As usual I was not able to finish and boxed my leftovers. When I received the check- my meal was priced at $13 (maybe priced for lunch?) I don't know. But it didn't hurt my feelings. Anyhow. It was a pleasant visit. This place such a good addition to Haughton/Shreveport. This restaurant has a wide variety of Latin cultural dishes with the menu specifying where each dish came from. The people there are very friendly and quick my only note for inside is the extremely bright sort of hospital lighting they use . I had gotten the tajadas with pork and it was phenomenal the portion is huge for what you're paying and everything tasted wonderful. For a person that likes flavor with their food, they didn't have any flavor at all. The salsa tasted like they didn't have seasoning in it (like even mild salsa from Walmart has more flavor). I've been here twice so far. First time I got the birra tacos (a different experience but pleasant). Second time I got chicken lunch fajitas which was nice though for some reason all these types of restaurants are stingy when you say "no beans, double rice" they just give a single serving of rice. I don't like refried beans. The decor is definitely unique and a nice departure from the more 80s hokey mexican restaurants that seem to get all their furniture from the same supplier (or estate sales of closed competitors). I like the variety of options on the menu and how they're organized by region. A coworker of mine said the Venezuelan offerings are the expensive types of food. I find myself more curious about the other offerings on the menu more than I typically do at other places which makes future visits more exciting. I'm reserving the fifth star for my next visit when I order a taco salad. If anything the taco salad is how I rate and conpare each latino themed restaurant. Let me just say, i will definitely be coming back. We tried the alligator bite's appetizer, not what I was expecting but definitely not disappointed at all. Almost like a small order of chicken fajitas, great flavor. For entrees we had mango pico chicken, Honduran fish filet, and the grilled octopus. The chicken was so flavorful and the mango salsa on top was sweet and blended so well with the chicken. The filet is something I know i'll crave all the time. I believe it was a coconut sauce on top with grilled veggies, absolutely incredible, I would highly recommend this dish. As for the grilled octopus I loved it, the flatter cut parts (don't know what they are called) had a perfect texture, usually with octopus it's very chewy, but the whole dish had an amazing texture, flavor and presentation. For sure get the bread pudding, genuinely the best i have ever had. The food all came out incredibly fast as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and quite. Very simplistic, the only issue we had overall was a few flies. I can't stress enough that it wasn't a terrible amount of flies, but noticeable, besides that everything was great. The service was 5 stars. Kaitlyn and Slade both took care of us, it felt like we were being taken care of by friends not strangers. Finally got to eat there and it was delicious. Have tried chicken Alfredo pasta, stuffed shrimp special, and Monterey chicken. However DO NOT go on Thursday night and order ribeye & potato. Food is good service is great. Only critique is the lighting is too bright. I noticed they did turn one bulb off in each fixture to try and dim it so they tried.
