I absolutely love this establishment. My go to was always the enchiladas suizas. They are packed with most grilled chicken. Topped with a nice portion of sour cream and we get lettuce and tomatoes. I always pair it with a salad and a cup of the chicken tortilla soup. The soup is good I love that they keep the big chunks of veggies. I recently was able to try the mesquite grilled pork chop and I have a new favorite! The pork chops is very moist, cooked perfectly and flavorful! I love the portions of veggies again with the larger chunks. It was plenty to eat I had leftovers. Back in May I went for cinco de mayo our server Elvis I believe he was wonderful. I will definitely be back.

Apparently everyone and their mother goes here on Sundays! I had no clue it would be so busy in there. I went wanting to try the Tres Leches martini from their collab with Caroline's Cookies, but unfortunately they didn't have it. I tried their pinto pechuga from the lunch specials, sooo good! The pechuga sauce is so flavorful and everything was super hot and fresh. Also tried the midcity hash from the brunch menu, also super flavorful and good. But the true STAR of the show absolutely has to be the french toast! Literally nothing prepared me for how delicious it was, it's like they add some sort of cinnamon sugar to it or something. Idk what it is but they're sooooo freaking delicious. Having my favorite French toast of all time at Superior was not on my bingo card, but I will be back for more!!!

Always have to make a stop at Superior while in BTR! The margs are hands down the best I've ever had. The wait time is always touch and go, but with the bar staff being so quick and attentive to us, we were able to grab a drink and wait outside, but not for long. I love the decorations in the Superiors and I always feel like I'm back in college celebrating a milestone with friends and family when I visit one of their locations!

My family and our large party of 22 ate at Superior Tuesday, and our waitress Alena was FABULOUS with our huge party. The vibe is always on point especially with the live music. All of the staff were super attentive, efficient and so friendly. Our food was hot and delicious! Our glasses stayed filled and our chips and salsa stayed plentiful. Looking forward to another visit!

Always a fun time at Superior Grill! Really enjoyed the margarita and their guacamole (although we had to add more like and salt, but it was delicious nonetheless).

Scrumptious burger we ate here. Superb margaritas too. Kinda noisy but in a happy way. We recommend this place to all our friends.

It's Simple as the name suggests…read more Nothing fancy or elaborate about this place. It's a small restaurant with a small open kitchen and a small dining room where you stand in line to place your order, get a number to put on your table, and servers bring the food to your table when it's ready. So, if you're looking for a large upscale, elegant restaurant with elaborate food presentations, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a simple, quick and delicious meal, Simple Joe Café is for you. The menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast favorites, but the menu is not intimidating and easy to read and order from. Simple enough. When my family and I arrived, the small dining room was packed with a few open tables and about six other customers in line waiting to place their order. On Saturday and Sunday, you cannot sit at the open tables or hold the tables until you have placed your order and given a tent number. At that point, the servers will help you find a table to accommodate your party. The employees do a very good job of clearing and turning over the tables to make sure everyone is seated and able to enjoy their meal in a timely manner. I am not a fan of breakfast food and normally don't eat breakfast, so I only had coffee while my family enjoyed their meal, so the food quality part of this review is based on what they described as they were eating. They each ordered Joe's Number One Breakfast Combos which came with two eggs, choice of meat and pancakes and they shared an order of hashbrown and a side of grits. The food came out quickly. They stated everything was fresh, prepared and cooked as requested, the food tasted very good and enjoyed every bite. Of course, the coffee was hot, and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The relaxed ambience and decor add to the unique character of the restaurant. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-16-26 Simple Joe Café | 3057 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA

Instead, I was trying to meet a friend for lunch and he was so late that we couldn't get in where were trying to go. I saw the sign and off we went to Simple Joe Cafe. Simple, it is. Awesome food, it also is. This place is not fancy nor is it meant to be. This is a solidly Americana type menu and ordering at the counter, serving your own coffee, and picking your own table kind of place. AKA - the kind of place I love. I have been here a few times now and only had breakfast. Hint: they serve it all day. The two meat omelet is a great choice and has been my go-to. The other day some friends got burgers and a club sandwich and those looked great too. This will definitely be in the rotation for lunch.

Jack was our server. He made some excellent recommendations!! The chicken pot pie had a kick to if so fyi....Everything was delicious!! Turns out we got and order of the boudin pie instead of the crawfish pie but it was delicious! He did bring us out a crawfish pie to try (not pictured) and it was also excellent!! The red beans and rice were the best I've had. And I've done a red beans and rice tour in NOLA and this was the best I've had!! We rounded out our meal with the Eye of the Tiger pie. And holey moley!!! The best finish to our meal!! They also have a great craft beer selection on draft. The only downside to this place is the parking is not great and there are only two bathrooms that are unisex. But heck....I'll be back every time I visit BR!!

They accidentally added regular toast to her plate, but a staff member (who wasn't even our server) noticed immediately, pointed it out, and took it back to get her a gluten-safe replacement. He was incredibly kind and genuinely caring, which meant a lot, because most places don't notice or don't take it seriously. Our food was great and the overall service was excellent. The service was unfriendly, the food was overpriced, and the overall experience was disappointing from start to finish. We had a party of six and were charged a "large party fee," which would have been fine if it had been explained upfront. Then there was an additional fee just for using a card. I ordered the table beignets, and they tasted more like fried biscuits than the beignets they used to serve. My son ordered a chicken waffle and was asked if he wanted bacon(2pc) on the side, assuming it came with the meal, only to later find out it was an extra charge that was never explained. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which used to be my favorite dish here, and it was terrible. The only flavor was Worcestershire sauce and green onions. Nothing about it tasted fresh or balanced. The restaurant itself was not clean. The floors were sticky, and the tables were so wobbly our drinks kept sloshing out. We finally had to shove napkins under the table leg just to keep it stable. To top it off, we never received one of the drinks we ordered or the extra bread we asked for. For just me and my son to eat brunch, the bill came to over $72. I truly hate leaving bad reviews, but between the poor attitudes, dirty floors, lack of service, surprise fees, and bad food, this place earned it. There are too many better brunch spots in Baton Rouge to waste your money here. And one last thing -- if you're going to charge a party fee, charge it fairly across the table instead of sticking certain people with more because they ordered more food. Do better.
