I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the termite inspection services provided by Superior Care Termite for my recent home purchase. I believe it is essential to bring attention to the series of issues and errors in the inspection process and the services offered. 1. Inspection History: a. Initial Inspection: The initial inspector, who failed to inspect the attic, stated that there were no termites present in the house as he couldn't find access to the attic. b. Discovery of Attic: After the inspector's departure, I discovered the attic, which necessitated a second inspection. Unfortunately, by the time the attic was inspected, the inspection time for the house had passed. c. Second Inspection: The second inspection identified the need for a spot treatment to address the termite issue. d. Inadequate Spot Treatment: The spot treatment performed by Superior Care Termite proved to be ineffective, as we discovered termites on the floor shortly after. e. Tenting Recommendation: A subsequent inspection revealed that the house required fumigation or tenting to address the termite infestation effectively. 2. Errors of the Original Inspector: The errors made by the initial inspector, who failed to inspect the attic, directly contributed to the delays in identifying the termite problem. This oversight has caused significant inconvenience, financial burden, and compromised the integrity of the house. 3. Payment for Ineffective Spot Treatment: The spot treatment was ineffective, and I believe we should be reimbursed for any associated costs. We even reached out to Superior Care Termite to pay for the spot treatment even though we were never formally issued a bill for the services performed until it was brought to their attention. We could have continued to ignore the fact that we were never issued that bill, but we wanted to do the right thing and make sure it was paid. 4. Request for a Discount for Fumigation: Given the series of errors and the extended timeframe required to address the termite issue, I was offered a free attic fumigation service or a discount of $300 off of a $2,700 whole house fumigation. The initial spot treatment that we paid for was about $461. Due to the delay and not knowing how far the termites have traveled through the home, a full attic fumigation is not a proper solution. I ended up reaching out to another company whose inspection revealed evidence of termites in other areas and not just in our attic. I will be moving forward with the other company to fumigate our home and not continuing with Superior Care Termite. I will say that Thomas, our second inspector from Superior Care Termite, was great. At the conclusion of the inspection, Elias provided a brief summary of his findings. He advised a report would be provided soon after to breakdown his recommendations.
