The Supercuts located on Highland Avenue, Needham is my favorite hair stylist shop in the area. The women who cut hair are very skilled, two have been there over 20 years and I appreciate that they are kind, great conversationalists and very skilled to style as you direct what you'd prefer as your appearance. There simply is no other haircut experience I've been as confident about. I am amazed how many 1 star reviews Super Cuts gets I went back to the needham location 2 weeks ago and the haircut took 5 minutes and it sucked. I did tip 20% BUT ONLY BECAUSE IT ? not sure they call it COVID TIP no matter what you get. WILL never be back... My haircut after 3 weeks is growing all stupid. I hate leaving bad reviews but I really suggest y'all fire the older lady with the 80s haircut and heavy blue eyeliner. haircut took maybe 2 minutes, absolutely a record for any haircut I've ever got. We are visiting from out of state and my teen needed a trim for her long hair. We were able to walk in. Instructions were to trim 2 inches off her long straight hair. 4 inches removed and "layers" added. The layers just make it look all uneven & hacked. We were there for fewer than 10 minutes. As we left, one of the hairdressers was walking over to the liquor store. A couple more odd things happened, I almost wonder if the place is a front for something. Do not go here! read more

I had been seeing the this hairdresser for about a year and overall, was fairly satisfied. Sometimes I would have to return because there would be a noticeable piece of hair that wasn't cut properly, but she would kindly fix it. My hairstyle isn't complicated and only required a trim. I had grown my bangs out for 6 months. I finally had them at the length I wanted. While growing out my bangs I was very specific about what I wanted, once they were long enough; long, side-swept bangs blended into the style of my cut. I was excited to have my now-long-enough bangs styled. Prior to cutting, we discussed my preference for several minutes and we seemed to be on the same page. I left the shop with wet hair (as I like to style it myself and don't like over-paying for a simple blow-dry). At quick glance, it seemed fine. I paid and left. Once home, after combing out my hair and drying it a bit, I noticed she cut a good 4" off *my entire bangs*! Originally, I thought she cut just one small section of my hair that short, which would have made sense for the style I wanted. But she basically cut off all my bangs. After 6 months of growing them out, they are now shorter than when I started to grow them out. I was livid. I replayed our conversation over and over in my mind, wondering if she somehow misunderstood me but...there is no way she did because she confirmed everything I was asking, reassuring me she knew what I wanted and even explained back to me what she would be doing. The shop closed shortly after I left so I couldn't return to say anything. It's been a few days now and I go back and forth as to whether to say anything. There isn't anything that can be done. My bangs were cut very short, despite asking to keep them long, so...not much they can do. I hate how my hair looks but I have to live with it for another six months until it grows out again. I am very angry and very disappointed. The haircut I requested was very basic, especially for an experienced hairdresser. My guess is she lost focus. Customers were coming in and she would greet them while still cutting my hair. I won't be returning to this hairdresser or this shop at Paris Plaza. read more

The had their online appointment site going with taking on customers. As the customers showed up for their appt they said their website app didn't work. It worked fine. They just didn't stop it. I noticed a bad review based on very old evidence. That prompted my writing this which I otherwise would not have bothered to submit. I have much more recently patronized this and other Supercuts so that my input may be well-timed and useful to some. A lot depends upon what stylist works with you, of course, and every location that I have visited does an excellent job honoring reservations, so that reserving with someone whose work you like could help a lot. If I visit at a time that I cannot use a stylist whose work I know, a majority of the time for me, and if I am still unhappy a day or two later, I have found that a quick 'repair', when one is feasible, is cheerfully provided at no additional cost. Also, every chain location that I have checked honors special rates and coupons so that there is little financial or cosmetic downside to requesting a very minor trim which can be extended when you can visit a stylist whose work you know. While the experience and skill of stylists varies, I have found them consistently professional acting and easy to deal with. The chain, and this location, would rarely be my absolute first choice, but it is a very viable alternative when you want a straightforward and acceptable experience. read more

Was told 45 min wait, after almost 90 mins I ask for an update and I'm told FIVE people ahead of me!! This is after watching every person before me waiting already long gone. Their system of call ins getting priority is insane. If they simply update people waiting I wouldn't have wasted my afternoon for nothing. I was scared to death the first time I went to Supercuts. My goal was to pick the most "normal looking" stylist in the place. Was I ever LUCKY! I ended up with Annie. She has been there about 20 years and only works Tuesday and Saturday's but she is worth waiting for. After going to my last hairdresser for about 15 years, I now feel totally comfortable having Annie foil frost and cut my hair. I truly TRUST her! The one bad thing is how hard it is to get an appointment with her. You cannot book ahead of time. At 8 a.m. on Tuesday or Saturday, I have to call and call (the line is busy, busy, busy) to find out if and when I can get an appt. that day. I don't get my haircut a lot but when I do I always go to Supercuts. I go to school in the south and there is an excellent Supercuts right next to my university. That said I have nothing against this store in general just one person at this location. Without mentioning any names there is a woman who works here named Vicki who is solely responsible for giving me the worst haircut experience of my life. The end product was not the problem. It was more of the rushed dynamic and "get out of my chair" vibes from this stylist in particular. Although I can't speak to the quality of the other stylists, I will never be returning to this location. read more
