Wow, I'm shocked. I had a bad review for this place that I put down years ago along with the owner replying to me in such a rude way, commenting back and forth many times. I guess you can just pay Yelp to remove bad reviews and have a lot of robots post good reviews. Nice to know you cannot trust Yelp anymore. It's been over a year and half since I was able to come in and get my hair done. I was seen by Nathalie and she killed it today! I wanted green hair and she gave me just that! Such a great salon! I used to come here several years back when I used to live closer and loved how my old stylist would cut and style my hair. Then I made the awful mistake of going to a new salon that was closer to me and had my hair totally butchered. I was literally traumatized from that experience and it took quite some time to grow it out. I finally decided to come back here and was booked with Edwin since my old stylist doesn't work there anymore and I couldn't be happier with my end result! He did such a great job during the consult clarifying the vision I had for the cut and executing it. He also styled it so well! Im just thrilled with the outcome. I'm actually scheduled to see him again for some highlights next week and can't wait! In comparison to other salons, I feel that Fulham's stylists are more up to date on current hair styles and techniques so if you're looking for a more modern cut or color, you should definitely consider booking an appointment! In case you're wondering about safety due to COVID19: masks are required at all times for stylists and clients. Stylists are also using disposable gloves and aprons. They're only using every other station so there's a lot of space between you and others and the stylists are sanitizing everything between use. Katharine is my go-to stylist; I started seeing her just after I had a baby and feel so lucky that her salon is so conveniently located just steps from my home! I have fairly healthy, easy-to-style hair and tend to prefer low maintenance styles, but I do tend to be picky with my stylists. Katharine is always straightforward about cost before she starts working on my hair and is willing to talk through a variety of options if what you came in thinking is somewhat out of your intended range. I went in to begin a dramatic lightening process, and she was up front about the dreaded brassy stage that might be part of the process depending on your hair. She did a great job "bumping up the roots" so my hair could have the appearance of all over lightness - but not necessarily an ombré - and could grow out without a harsh line of demarcation (especially because my hair grows so quickly!). For haircuts, I've done both long and short looks with her, bangs or no bangs, and have been equally happy with every result. She does it all - you can't go wrong with Katharine! read more

I went to Fulham Salon today to get my hair colored for the very first time. I am Indian and have thick black curly hair. Having never experimented with color before I was nervous about how it would take to my hair as well as look against my skin tone. I have wanted to try a sombre on my hair for quite some time now but kept chickening out. I finally decided to go for it and had made and appointment at a Salon in Somerville. After making my original appointment I found a Groupon for an Ombre/Balayage, haircut, toner and blow out for Fulham Salon in Wellesley, MA. I researched reviews of the Salon and a majority being positive I decided to purchase the Groupon. I was nervous about using a discount coupon to color my hair for the first time but I decided it was time for me pull the trigger. I was extremely nervous when I went in this morning. Katherine Johnston was my stylist. I explained to her that it was my first time, that I was nervous and that I was relying heavily on her to tell me what would look good. She explained the entire process to me and went over color options. As previously mentioned I relied heavily on Katherine's expertise and I am very happy with the result. I have been seeing Daniele at Fulham salon for over two years now, I can't believe this is the first time I have left a review! I am a mousy brown haired girl who wants the impossible - to be the blonde I was when I was a kid without having miserable roots two weeks after leaving the salon! Danielle seems to manage the impossible! For the first time since I started highlighting hair - I have never hit that "have to wear a baseball cap everytime I leave the house" point. I like the rustic atmosphere and it reminds me a bit of home with the wood tones. On a cold, windy day it was nice to step inside the warm salon and be greeted by smiles and friendly folks. As a guy, nice salons like Fulham can make me feel like an outsider, but not here. I felt comfortable and was treated well. I showed the stylist, Jenny, a picture of what I wanted my hair to resemble and told her whatever you can do would be great. I feel like she went above and beyond for me and was also knowledgeable about my hair in particular - like how I can best get my hair to stay the way I want it to. In the end, my cut looked great and with a little bit of styling clay I was pretty impressed with the way things turned out. I felt like a new man with a fresh look. I was going to this salon for a year and a half, I loved going to the same stylist and never got a bad cut until the last time I went to her. I asked for my typical layered look but asked to add more layers than last time because I loved volume... I have no volume and she thinned it out in places were it never should have been thinned out. I ended up with an uneven cut and still can't get it to style right after a month and a half of it growing out. I wasn't going to write this review but after still being upset with my hair I felt I should warn others. Ps. Also there is $150 worth of balayage in there... This is a great salon in a great location. Switched here for a color correction from another salon and my stylist did a great job. Lauren rocks. Pleasant and professional- her confidence put me at ease and I knew she could undo the mess that was my hair when I came in! Front desk was super friendly and efficient. Love the convenience of the atm in salon. My only comment is the salon itself. Really beautiful inside- but who's idea was it to have floor to ceiling mirrors and to seat the clients about a foot from them? Haha. Also, no shelf in front so all bags go on floor. Coffee? Water? You are holding it. Same with a magazine. A little awkward. That being said, I am returning of course because of the excellent skills. read more

Great stylists and a relaxed atmosphere. I've tried every type of salon and stylist for my curly and rapidly graying hair, and Lauren is the best I've ever worked with. I'm pretty sure she has some kind of colorist superpower. All the stylists here are friendly and funny and it seems pretty clear they all like each other. The vibe is just really good there...none of the tension that you can sometimes feel at salons. On the weekends you can park for free in the public lot around the corner. And there's a Peet's coffee nearby. So, let's see--stylist with superpowers, salon with really cool vibe, free parking on weekends, and nearby coffee. What else could you ask for?? read more

Katherine did my hair, she took her liberties with the style, applied her expertise about what would look best but listened to what I wanted. I love the shape and reduced volume of my hair. The shape/style lasted until my commencement the next day - looked and felt amazing. Having a bi racial daughter makes it challenging to find the right stylist who knows how to work with curly but not kinky hair. After a friend with fabulous curly hair similar to my daughter's sent me to Alex, we have never looked back! Alex was able to give her a cut that allowed her short hair to grow out without even a moment of that "awkward-growing-out stage" and it looked fabulous and healthy as it grew long. This review is for Arielle Moynihan. We came in on a gilt.com groupon for a haircut and blowout, to which we added a deep conditioning treatment. Arielle took 5-10 minutes to discuss the pros and cons of the cut that my female companion was thinking about, and we decided on taking off 2.5 inches of growth, and redoing her bangs to better frame her face. Arielle decided to do a combination of dry and wet cutting to get the geometry right. Deep conditioning treatment and S/C were all from Nioxin, as Fulham/Wellesley is a P&G professional salon.
