I've been coming to Renzo Salon for nearly four years now, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Honestly, if I had paid more attention to the website earlier, I would've posted this after my very first visit! Paula is a true expert--she knows exactly how to work with my slightly wavy, sometimes unruly Asian hair. Her cuts are consistently an art, and so is her coloring--always natural, flattering, and beautifully done. I constantly get compliments! Not only is Paula amazing, but the entire team--Erin, Magdalena, Teresa, and Lisa (the wonderful owner of Renzo Salon)--are just as warm and welcoming. You can truly see how well they get along and support each other, which creates such a relaxed, family-like atmosphere. It honestly feels like a place where everyone knows your name--just like the classic sitcom Cheers--you're not just a client, you're part of the community. My husband is also a regular and loves his haircuts just as much. Even our college-aged kids look forward to visiting the salon when they're home for the holidays! Love this place! For years, I've been searching for "my place". My hair can be difficult as it doesn't straighten or hold curls, but Renzo found a way to not only accommodate my difficult hair, but compliment it! I've spend hundreds of dollars for a single haircut in Newbury St in Boston, and even that didn't compare to Renzo :) Kind and caring staff who takes pride in their work. One time I even got up and my hairdresser said "wait there's one part I want to fix". I can't think of another place that would find a minor thing and have me sit back down. :) read more

I came for a side fringe only but this cut is so weird. Forcing myself to like it but not matter how I style it the cut is blunt it won't soften up. I showed multiple pics for reference but not sure if it helped. Bangs is fail or great but this cut is awful. It looks like I cut it myself lol. Anyway it will grow but would go somewhere else. read more

I hadn't gotten a haircut in over a year and am always pretty anxious getting haircuts since curly hair can be tricky. This was my first time at Renzo Salon. From the moment I walked in I felt so comfortable and the hair stylist did an excellent job talking me through her thought process and explaining the why behind her suggestions. She never cut anything until I gave consent which I love because some stylists can be in a rush and scissor happy! She was so friendly and made me feel very welcome. Some salons in Boston charge an arm and a leg and the prices here are so reasonable ($60 for haircut, blowout included). The salon itself is clean and stylish. I'm so glad that I tried this place out and will definitely be coming back! read more

I just love this place because they make me feel beautiful, welcome, and adored. I don't want to dye my hair or do anything extra to it, and I feel celebrated and rewarded for my choices whenever I go there because I leave walking three inches off the ground and da-yum if the days isn't just a whole lot sunnier for it. This group knows hair and they are experienced. Whenever I'm there it is clear there are many regulars because the interaction between Frank's team and the client is personal (a sign of a good shop). Lisa is a state certified colorologist (I'm told not too many of those). It is not too chic, not pretentious at all. Reasonably priced and solid results. read more

I have been going to Lisa at Renzo salon for ages- can't remember exactly but at least 8-9 years. She is a lovely person, beautiful inside and out, and for that reason it's nice to just be able to hang out with her for an hour or two. But, of course, she's also a skilled colorist and hairdresser. I am a natural blonde who has gotten a little darker with age, and Lisa has been highlighting my hair so naturally that no one ever realizes I highlight it. She truly listens to what you're asking for in a haircut, and the results are always fabulous. I would note that because the salon is accommodating to regular customers (i.e. may occasionally squeeze people in) you should get there a little bit early (10-15 min) and be prepared for your stylist to flit between you and someone else; this doesn't mean they're not paying attention to you, it's just their way. But do know that this is a relaxed, pampering experience (and don't book if you need to be in and out in 50 min!) read more

This salon looked cute from the outside, so I thought I would give it a try for a trim (it had been about 2 months since my last cut). I should have trusted my gut instinct and walked out. The inside of the salon was a bit dirty and run down (lots of hair on the ground), and the three other women who walked in while I was getting my hair cut were all in the 60+ age range. I waited about an hour after my appointment before the one person working there was ready to cut my hair (also the salon owner I think), and he left me twice while cutting my hair to attend to a woman who's color he was doing (it didn't seem like he was focused on cutting my hair at all). The cut he gave me was absolutely awful (not at all a trim), when I told him I didn't like what he did to my bangs he shrugged and told me that was how they were styled when I walked in so that's how he cut them (he didn't even offer to fix them and I ended up doing them properly at home myself). Also, when he went to blow dry my hair he kept trying to push me to buy each of the products he was using (not cool, and not something I have experienced in other salons). Finally, this was extremely over priced for what it was ($48). STAY AWAY! read more
