    PARLR is such a dream of a salon, you walk in and it is such a gorgeous space. I was so happy with how my hair turned out and the staff is all so friendly. Overall feels like a luxury experience and one worth treating yourself to!!

    This salon is a dream!! First off the space is immaculate. It's located in an old mill and has views of old waterfalls, but the space has been renovated to be very chic. From the floral wallpaper to the neon signs, it's such an experience to just be there. The salon is also giant and they have a professional grade air filter if you're worried about getting Covid. The salon is also locally owned, which I appreciate. The services that I have gotten at PARLR have all been great. They only use the best products, which helps guarantee the best experience. I've only gotten their haircut and coloring services, which I've both been very satisfied with. They have a large variety of products for sale if you're into that. They also have a large variety of other services including photography if you need anything else! I would highly recommend parlr!

    I found this place through Google search and I'm so glad I decided to come here. The women here made me feel so glamorous and the hair and makeup was amazing. The photo session photographer showed me the photos as we went and I'm so glad. I loved them! Come here for headshots for sure!!!

    I'm not a high maintenance gal so I don't usually keep up my hair whenever I color it so I usually treat myself to the hair salon once a year. I usually color my hair in the summer then when winter season comes, I miss my dark hair, so I'll dye it back black (from the box). I've been going here since 2017 and I've had Erin, Emily and Molly. All 3 are very talented and done great job on my hair! I've also recently done my makeup here with Victoria and at first I was anxious because I wasn't sure what to expect but she did a great job and listened to what I wanted!

    Update: The folks at Parlr called me again upon reading my review and were very apologetic about the experience. They asked me to share some of the inspiration pictures I had in mind as well. They fixed another appointment for me with Meaghan and she did a fabulous job with my hair. It was definitely what I wanted and I was very happy with the result. Also, they did not charge me for the color this time, only for the blow dry which shows great customer service. I'll definitely be trying them out again! PS: The pictures don't show how light the color actually was, probably due to the lighting.

    I came in for a makeup trial for my wedding today. I didn't really know what to expect. Victoria greeted us with a friendly demeanor and the entire time we chatted I felt at ease and asked for my thoughts and input throughout. She is phenomenal. Her skill is top notch but she also knows how to make you feel comfortable just by talking to you. I am excited to go back on the big day and know she will have a huge, very positive impact on my wedding day memories.

What was supposed to be a routine facial turned into one of the most uncomfortable, disappointing, and frankly shocking customer service experiences I have ever had. From the moment I walked in, something felt off. I was greeted by Jackie, whose demeanor immediately came across as rushed and irritated, as though my appointment was an inconvenience rather than a scheduled commitment. I tried to brush it off and assume maybe it was just a busy day. Unfortunately, things only went downhill from there. Before starting the service, I clearly explained that I wanted a facial. I repeated myself more than once to make sure there was no confusion. I even asked if what I was requesting was possible, and I was assured it would not be a problem. That reassurance turned out to mean absolutely nothing. During the appointment, I noticed that and I noticed scars (that I later found out were PERMANENT). I politely pointed it out, thinking it could easily be corrected. Instead of listening, Jackie dismissed my concerns and insisted that everything was "normal." It did not feel normal. It felt careless. At one point, when I asked for something as simple as some lotion for my hands, I was met with visible frustration. Jacqueline actually sighed and responded in a tone that made it clear I was being perceived as difficult simply for asking a reasonable question about my own service. I have never felt so uncomfortable advocating for myself in a professional setting. The worst part, however, was the final result. What I specifically asked to avoid scars, and dry skin is exactly what happened. It was the complete opposite of what I had described. I left the appointment feeling embarrassed, upset, and genuinely stunned at how little care had been taken. When I tried to express my disappointment calmly at the front desk, the situation only escalated. Rather than apologizing or offering any form of resolution, I felt subtly blamed for "miscommunication." There was no accountability. No empathy. No effort to make things right. Just defensiveness. Customer service is not just about performing a service; it's about listening, respecting boundaries, and treating clients with basic courtesy. At Skintique, I experienced none of that. I experienced dismissiveness, poor communication, and a level of unprofessionalism that I honestly did not think was possible in a business that depends on repeat clients. I rarely write negative reviews. In fact, I usually give businesses the benefit of the doubt. But this experience was so deeply disappointing that I would feel irresponsible staying silent. I would strongly encourage anyone considering facial here to think carefully and ask very detailed questions before committing. I left feeling worse than when I walked in -- and that should never be the outcome of a service that is supposed to help you feel confident and cared for. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously. No client should leave feeling unheard, uncomfortable, or regretful. One star is generous.

We opted to both be in the sauna and cold plunge and then individually go in for massages once our sauna session was up. Sauna and adjoining room were clean upon arrival. Cold plunge tub was filled as we spoke (not ice cold, but cold enough for beginners). He reviewed protocol with us and left the room for us. Massages were individual and allowed us to utilize the sauna while the other was getting a massage. He was professional and it was a great massage. Pricing was extremely reasonable and we will be back. We normally go to Fire and Ice in Dedham, but they lack an in room cold plunge, which we really enjoy in combination with the sauna experience. I recommend Ron and his spa; he is passionate about a great experience. We look forward to returning.

I decided I must write it to alert others, considering the poor quality of the work and the high price of the service. I'm including photos, which were taken about 15 minutes after I left the salon. (Note the gobs of dark hair dye still in my ear and the dye smudged across my cheek and temple.) My stepson said to me: "I thought you had your hair dyed. There's still a ton of grey." I had asked for my hair to be dyed dark brown to match my natural color and cover my grey. I don't think my stylist covered my entire head with dye. I think she only covered some parts of my hair in dye. I'm not sure why. Yes, I certainly could have turned around the car and complained and had the salon fix their work. But is that my responsibility? For $119 (a single-process color, cut and blow dry), shouldn't we expect the salon to make sure the work is high quality before we leave the salon? This salon should have been ashamed to let me leave in the condition I was in.

We had a good relationship and she had encouraged me to come back if there was a problem with my hair. When I called after trying out something new with the coverage of my hair color, I received a message about their struggle to make me happy. She does have difficulty with Asian hair and coloring. Hayley also completely stood me up, and everyone in her shop one day, because she said she overslept after talking with her ex husband all night, and let her phone die. The two other workers in the salon that day could not find nor reach her or her mother on behalf of me and other clients. The degree of difficulty and time it takes to get coloring correct, standing up an client, and coming to me, asking me to fix her LAN because the printer wouldn't work.... I didn't charge her for this service. I'm earned an MSW but maybe she thought I was good with electronics because I am Asian, and how Main stream Americans view the Model Minority in America. I wonder if this is the reality I live in now as an Asian-American. Is this really how most Americans feel when discussing how political climates affect minorities? You find out how people really feel when you discuss Trump and how he has incited White racists to action. I'm so disappointed that in a progressive town like Sudbury where I have mixed race families, one of which is mine, all White owned businesses are still shocked to hear about racism against Asians and Jews in America. My daughter is part ethnically Jewish and Asian, and 100% American. At one moment, I paused and asked the owner, Hayley Mearan, daughter of Bonnie O., if I was making her or anyone uncomfortable and she laughed and said absolutely not. I asked if she minded me saying how I felt, the White owner lied and said if anything her closest friend and co-worker felt similar. Then when I was reinvited to return by email to make an appointment, I found out that they would not like my patronage at their business. So they either made a mistake or deliberately they did this to make known their racist feelings, hawking their supremacy over me and my comments. This is when the owner said she thought my remarks were 'racist,' [against Whites]. Racism is part of systematic power in our society. I am an Asian immigrant discussing the current political climate of the country. Social power is in the hands of White people (mostly White men), in this case the owner - mother and daughter. Disgusting to find this out after years of thinking I was in civilized company.
