Pretty much every single experience here has been fantastic for me. Maybe one cut I went home and felt a little lopsided, but I don't think my head is symmetrical so that could be on me. Other than that: Call. Make a reservation. Get up on the chair on time. Get a great haircut. Out the door in 10 - 15 minutes. I guess the caveat is that my haircut is pretty simple. The stylists are nice and the price is noticeably cheaper than other salons on Maui (still crazy expensive compared to the mainland.) My son and my husband get their hair cut here every few months. They don't really care who the stylist is. But I can honestly say that they've never really had a bad experience here. Perhaps it's because it's a men's haircut? The stylists have always been so nice and friendly. They ask how short or how long they want their hair to be. Even going as far as letting my son know which way his hair naturally falls so as to not cut it in a way where it would not be complementary to his cut. Super disappointed with my sons haircut from Supercuts in pukalani. Had an appointment at 240 and didn't get in the chair till 310. I Showed the stylist a picture of exactly what we wanted and told him a short tight fade. Not only did he barely cut any hair off he was not friendly at all and took soooo long to do it. The other lady cutting hair finished two haircuts while we were there. He also barely said a word to my son or me then when I asked him to make it shorter he said I need to hold my sons head still so he could do it. My son is 6 and was staying very still for a 6 year old. By the end of it after I said it still wasn't short enough i asked if he could just buzzed it a little to make it shorter and he aggressively buzzed the entire cut off.bu that point I wasn't comfortable asking for any more changes, I was shocked. I felt so bad for my son, when we left he said the guy hurt his head and poke him with the scissors and comb. Can't believe I had to pay $30 for that and I still left a tip. So so disappointed and will definitely never be back. read more

I travel from Wailuku to Makawao to have my hair cut. It's worth the travel from Wailuku to Pukalani Terrace Center. He really takes the time to give you a perfect and precision cut. He has many years of experience cutting hair. Love his jovial attitude. I leave very happy all the time. My experience at the Supercuts at Maui Lani Shop Ctr Ste 3020, Kahului was horrible. All the operators there have bad attitudes and are rude. The haircuts were terrible every time I went there no matter who the stylist was. They act as though they are doing you a favor and you should be so lucky they are cutting your hair. Always left with a bad haircut, sad and depressed. My experience at the Super Cuts at Puunene Shopping Center, 80 Ho'okele St Ste 420, Kahului was the worse. There was one stylist who did an excellent cut but was always in a "pissy mood." Her bad attitude and cold demeanor were too much. I thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and kept booking with her. But, after several appointments with her, I realized she is just not happy at her job or maybe that's her nature, or maybe, maybe. Anyway, always left distressed, sad and annoyed. Not going there anymore! I was thinking of just letting my hair grow to the ground but it's too hot here on Maui to do that. My experience at the Supercuts at Maui Mall, 70 Ka'ahumanu Ave Ste B-2b Kahului. Stylist was ok as far as being professional. At least was not rude. Haircut was horrible. I am a very first time in Maui island, and have been so many times at Waikoloa in Big island on Kona side.On the way họ back to condo after after done shopping at Safeway same shopping trips with Supercuts. Although get a hair cut here it's convenient. Walk in to the shop the women at front desk helping a senior men for his payment. After the men walk out I told her I want a hair cut and quick look the entire shop, she an only there. I ask her can I use the restroom before hair cut ? She quiet few seconds and said the restroom broken ! First - if the restroom broke how she done # 1 or # 2 ? , does she use a bucket ? Second - The hair cut cost $30.00 and not for sure good or not, and not let customer use restroom, this is a very bad business. I walk right out, who's needs this. She lost $30.00 and at least $5.00 for tip. And my money still in my wallet. Don't go there tourists, a lot of barbers shops around Kihei. Business needs customers not another way. read more

Beware of this SuperCuts ...Worst experience ever!! Walked in for shampoo and style, just for a treat....Immediately could tell the two ladies didn't want to do it, cropping an attitude! Gina said $60 or $65 depending on how long... I said OK and disdain crossed her face..the one lady said to other, you can do it and left the counter. Gina hastily put away some schedules and went to the sink... It was the roughest shampoo ever... after about one minute I said to Gina "I really wanted this to be a relaxing experience". She never changed! When she finished, I said "I feel like you think this is beneath you and we should just stop here". She never apologized or tried to get me to stay... I walked in this morning with a photo of my daughter's current hair down by her waste, and a long bob she wanted that goes 3-4" below her chin. I showed it to the two stylist on duty and very bluntly asked if anyone would do it well and no hard feelings if not. One lady confessed she wouldn't, the other said she could do it easily. I booked an appointment with Joanne for when my daughter got out of school. I showed her the photo AGAIN when we got there, (which I put on this post for reference), and she glanced at it and was like "yeah I know how". The demeanor of the stylist "Joanne" was not good with kids in general. My daughter didn't move a muscle the entire haircut, I watched her, and the best it looked was the moment she cut the pony tail. It went all downhill from there. She SHAVED the hair on my daughters neck! The haircut wasn't even supposed to be that high! Nothing is even and it's way too short. Joanne's reaction to my horrification and saying I'll need to have it corrected but I can't now because it's too short was to say it will grow out nicely and proceed to ring me up. I shouldn't even have been charged for this mess! My girl is traumatized and never wants to get her hair cut again. She saw the back and lost it crying saying she looks like a boy. I don't know how this rude, arrogant, incompetent, and money hungry stylist has a job. She has scarred my daughter so badly she doesn't want to go to school. read more

There was only one person working on Sunday and doing everything from answering phones to helping customers coming in. My kids had an appointment for haircut and color. Hair stylist keeps adding customers to her schedule knowing she was all by herself. So basically she messed up with haircuts and colors to my kids hair because of her schedule. She was rushing to accommodate all the customers that she crammed in. I eventually had to spend more money and time to get my kids haircut fixed and their colors redone. read more

This was a waste of time and money. I know Supercuts is hit or miss, mostly miss. I only go here when desperate for a quick fade. Today I got the worst cut since I cut my own hair at six years old. You can tell when someone know what they're doing. I could tell early on this was not going to be close to a decent fade. I gave specific clipper sizes and asked for no hair line. I got some uneven jacked up cut and total crooked hairline. Total uneven all over. I'm going to go buzz my head now. If you can't do something just say that. If I could give the place 0 stars, I would. My girlfriend made a reservation time of 1:30pm. We got there at 1:25pm and there was a man and a woman already waiting in their lobby. The only hairdresser there ended up taking another customer before me which was fine I guess since we wanted to get something to eat anyway. We sat outside eating and my girlfriend noticed the hairdresser was done with the guy so we walked in thinking she was going to take me next because I had an appointment time at 1:30pm. The hairdresser casually took the lady waiting there before me. The customer said to her, "why don't you take him first? He had an appointment time." The hairdresser then said, "Oh it doesn't matter. I'm always going to have people walking in to get their hair cut." Then brushed us off. Mind you it was maybe 1:45 already when she decided this was fine. First red flag. Red flag #2: Tamara walked in from the back door obviously frustrated because something was wrong with her car. We noticed this because she was thanking the other hairdresser for letting her go to the mechanic. She called me over and had me sit in her chair. She asked me what I wanted and I told her how I wanted my hair cut. Pretty simple and straightforward because I'm that kind of guy. It didn't even feel like I was in her chair for 5 minutes and she was already done. Due to covid restrictions my girlfriend didn't get closer to inspect my hair for things I couldn't catch because she didn't know how the hairdressers would react. Red flag # 3: The entire time that Tamara was cutting my hair she asked about my occupation and if I got the covid flu shot. I told her my occupation and my view on it and it seemed like she got an attitude with me. After I shared my views she went on to edge me up and practically gave me a rat bite and area at the nape of my neck is crooked. The haircut was priced at $25 on their website. After the sanitation fee of $3.95 for 4 or so sprays of antibacterial spray on her work counter and not even on the chair, everything cost about $30 and some change. My girlfriend's experience: It was my girlfriend's turn. She reluctantly sat in Tamara's chair because she didn't take long with me. She asked my girlfriend what she wanted done to her hair and she said, "just a straight cut across, shoulder length. No layers, I want to be able to put my hair up without anything sticking up." She didn't put her hair in a tight enough ponytail. I thought she was going to do a clean cut with the buzzer to the half-assed ponytail but she didn't and it kept taking more and more hair as the rest of the ponytail pulled down. Just to paint this picture for you, my girlfriend has been growing her hair for 4 years to be able to donate her hair yet again. So her hair was a bit pass her butt, practically virgin hair at this point because she hasn't dyed her hair in 15 years and her sister took a flat iron to it once when she first cut her hair shoulder length 4 years ago. She had long thick Asian hair, now it's crooked short thick Asian hair. When Tamara was trying to straighten up the hair by her nape of her neck, my girlfriend heard her say "opp!" My girlfriend knew she messed up, we're just really surprised she didn't try fixing it better. There's different lengths to her hair if she outs her head down. I honestly feel bad for not noticing it sooner there because my girlfriend is upset about the cut. My girlfriend first thought that Tamara could hardly breath under the mask because she kept hearing her breath heavily while Tamara was cutting her hair. Turns out she could hear Tamara talking under her breath and one of the things she caught was, "long hair" so we can only safely assume that Tamara was talking crap under her breath. So not only was Tamara frustrated, but it carried on to my girlfriend's hair cut. Tamara didn't even bother talking to my girlfriend after she asked what kind of haircut she wanted let alone seem interested in creating small talk like normal. Overall, my edges are crooked, my hair isn't properly faded. My girlfriend's hair is crooked and we both paid the $30 just to be treated badly and have messed up haircuts. We might be heading there again tomorrow so she can try and make things right at no cost; if not Yelp should be expecting yet an update an another review for another establishment that fixes our hair. read more

The most awful haircut my boyfriend has ever had. They take no appt.s but will reserve a time for you if you call on the same day. So walk ins must wait until someone misses their reserved time. Not a good way to do business. The biggest turn off was the hair stylist who cut my boyfriends hair. He buzzed his hair, not what he asked for. Sheena did a great job with my 13 year old for a lip wax so I went to her for a cut, color and style. BAD IDEA!! She charged me for an 'extra long color/gloss' THEN CUT MY HAIR.... (I asked for root touch up then pull through rest of hair) I asked for a TRIM, told her specifically I wanted my 'shortest layer' about 2 inches BELOW MY CHIN. One half of my head is much shorter layered than the other. Shortest layer is certainly NOT 2 inches below my chin as requested. Worse yet, I had a wedding to attend the next day (with horrible looking hair). The style fell out that night, my usual girl on O'ahu Supercuts (Kaitlin at Wai'alae) will use products that make it last for at least through the next day. read more

The employees talked with each other more than focusing on cutting hair. They were unprofessional to talk about personal issues in front of customers and neglected to help customers. The manager was training a new employee how to stock shelves and look up prices at the same time she was trying to cut a customer's hair. Employees complained loudly about how busy they are and how packed their schedule is in front of customers. They did not try to work efficiently or make customers feel like they were getting a super haircut. They were not focusing on great customer service and nice haircuts. read more

I just got my hair done yesterday by Sheena. Don't do it. She is great at waxing and an awesome friend. But she acts as if she knows what she's doing and she does not. I was very nervous to get a new thing done to my hair, for my hair says a lot about me. And I went in with the red hair everyone loved on me and came out and wanted to cry. Not only did they charge me almost 200 dollars on this monstrosity. But they all gave me looks like it was bad. I did NOT tip her because something just didn't feel right. And there wasn't anything right about it. My hair IS SO uneven!!!! I asked for a trim to clean up the edges, and she took one side of my scalp and just like straight across cut it. The other side, doesn't even look like she cut? There's a good inch or so difference. The "layers" she put in my hair??? They are SO fucking (mind my french) CHOPPY!! They look absolutely terrible. Now on to the dying?! This was a nightmare to get done, and I don't even want to look at myself in the mirror. My highlights start like an inch away from my face. The front of my hair has a huge gap from a DARK BROWN that I didn't want. I asked for the beachy look. She gave me the meth addict look. The highlights are orange-gold, the dark brown is BLACK and the red still shows through. The only thing good about this haircut is my bangs. I am having to go and correct this terrible haircut and hairdye with my trusted hairdresser in Wailuku. Don't go for hair! Don't. You will cry all day and all night about it, that's what I am doing. Very disappointed in the customer service at this location... Today, with an empty waiting area: one lady cutting hair and the second person on staff, Rene, with no customer; I was just told they're fully booked for the rest of the day @ 4:45pm... I called their bluff and stated that I'm aware that their company policy is no appointment required and they do not take reservations. To that I was met with the response "we do have a waiting list and it's full, if you did not call ahead we cannot cut your hair today"... I let it be know that I was upset, as this it at least the 3rd or 4th time this has happened and, in past, when I drive 20 minutes to another Supercuts location they have all reiterated that Supercuts is a first come first serve business and they frequently get customers that have been turned away from the upcountry branch. I do understand this location is the busiest Supercuts on Maui but there was NO ONE waiting there for a haircut and my simplistic haircut literally take less than 5 minutes to complete. I will be taking my complaints to every manager, local and corporate, that I'm able. Management should get control of their staff not providing the type of service advertised and maybe not leave the busiest location understaffed - at least I'd think all involved would like more profit instead of turning paying customers away and loosing customers for ever with this kind of repeat crappy experience. read more

I've been going to this location (Pukalani) for about 2 years now and I think I've had enough. Yesterday made me realize how I appreciate being able to make appointments that whoever cuts my hair keeps. I've been using the Supercuts app that was recommended by Ashley M. Unfortunately, according to Ashley, the app is not very good and she gets "double booked". Which was apparently the case on Wednesday when I made a 4:30 p.m. booking (this was the time the app said Ashley would be available). Upon arrival before my time, Ashley explained that the app "double booked" her and that she was doing a coloring. I would have to wait approximately 45 minutes or come back. She said she would be available on Friday and what time would I like to see her. Again I selected 4:30 p.m. as this would be most convenient for me. She said she would write me in. Arriving at approximately 4:25 p.m., one stylist is cutting a boy's hair and Ashely pokes her head out from the back and tells me "I'll be right with you." After approximately 5 minutes, Ashley reappears and proceeds to cut another gentlemen's hair telling me that she needs to cut his first (I wonder if he made a 4:30 appt. too on Wednesday?). So I again have to wait (it always seems to be me doing the waiting). After Ashley is done with the other gentlemen, she is asked for her opinion from another stylist who is cutting a girl's hair. Not saying anything to me, she proceeds to examine the girl's hair and give some opinions. Then picking up a comb and scissors, she starts working on this other girl. I've now waited for approximately a half an hour with no indication as to when my hair cut would start. So I just left, vowing never to return to Supercuts. Ashley called me later on in the evening apologizing saying "it wasn't her fault" and "it was her co-workers who "double booked" her. She offered me a discount but I think you can see that I probably won't be taking her up on her offer. I would like to add that when Ashley left for a period of time, Precious cut my hair and I did not have any problems with her when I used the app. I like the way Ashley cuts my hair but just fed up with the way Supercuts handles its customers. read more

I usually avoid this location because it's hard to get in. I received a we want you back coupon and thought why not. Bad idea. I called at noon and was told 430, I was OK with that When I got there I had the vibe like I shouldn't be there. They were busy but no one took the time to look up and acknowledge me. I stood in line to check in but they seemed more preoccupied with a pricing board and no one seemed happy. That's all the equations that result in a bad hair cut, I got out fast. Called in to put my name down and they said there was no wait and to come on in. I was there in less than five minutes and went to the counter to let her know I was here. There were two stylists doing hair and two ladies in waiting area with about 5 kids between the two of them. I was told the wait was now a half hour even though I called ahead. The ladies clearly knew the stylists as they were talking story and the kids were calling them aunty, ect. Just moved here from BI and was hoping this would be my place for haircuts, but not anymore. I'm giving it one star, because my hair wasn't totally Effed up. I went in asking for a slight cut off the bottom, and then we agreed that if I wanted to go shorter, we could. So my stylus cuts it to the length of agreement, and asks me if I'd like it shorter. I than ask her to cut it shorter in the back, and longer in the front at an angle,( I can't remember the name of the style). She than simply let me know she couldn't do it, because that's not how the cut works. So she went to get a senior stylus, who came up to me and started telling me how we're going to cut MY hair. I told her I only want a little off the back, to make it longer in the front, but very slight. She than told me that if it's going to be that slight of of a cut, than we might as well not do it at all. I agreed to let her do whatever the heck she wanted because I was tired of being embarrassed and yelled at in the chair.
