I am visiting family on Maui, staying in Haiku. I desperately needed to get a pedicure. I was way overdue and my nails were frightening! I Googled for pedicure near me and chose Mirror Mirror Salon just 10 minutes away in Makawao. Wendy gave me one of the best pedicures I've ever had! She took her time and was gentle but very thorough. I decided to get the shellac polish which is dried right away so you don't have to worry about messing it up. The color is gorgeous! Maggie, who had highlighted my hair previously decided she wanted to take the day off, cancelled my appointment so Sherry arranged to have Corey do my hair and I agreed only because I was leaving the next day to go to my class reunion . Corey proceeded to fry my hair, absolutely ruined it to the point that my only recourse is to let it grow back. These hairdressers are not color specialist! I found Cheri after my prior hairdresser was no longer available to do hair. I get highlights and lowlights every few months and am pretty particular about my hair. Cheri is amazing. The salon is super cute and welcoming and she is a true master of hair, really understanding how to work with different hair types and textures. DO NOT USE THIS SALON! Cheri, the salon owner,talked me into getting hair extensions. A nightmare! I spent over 800$ and they lasted only 2.5 months. I was told "there would be minimal hair shedding that would have happened anyway you just notice it more because the glue holds it in place. To remove them we use a solution and they come right out." Soo not true!! She kept ripping and ripping and ripping. And trying to hide it from me. She made more than one trip to the garbage as the hair piled up on her tray. It shredded my hair!!! Not even as a child has my hair ever been this thin. I easily lost several inches in length and over 1/3 in volume. I'm now embarrassed to leave the house. Someone actually asked if I'd had chemo. She took absolutely no responsibility for the damage. When I complained and sent her before and after pics she suggested it must be due to a medical condition. She even charged me for a child's haircut. It will take years for my hair to return to where it was. DO NOT GO THERE. This is in response to your fabrication of facts. Cheri I understand you feel a need to defend yourself but you and I both know the truth and that's not it. From what I'm reading the biggest factor to the least damage with glue hair extensions is an experienced professional. I was told any damage would be minimal. It was severe as you can see from the before and after pictures. I did not have thinning hair I wanted more length. I was told most people keep their extensions in for about 4 months. I did take care of my extensions if fact I had seen you a few weeks prior to removing them and you said nothing about damage. The damage occurred as you were removing them. You just kept ripping and ripping and ripping. At some point it should have occurred to you that what you were doing wasn't working. And you did try to hide the hair loss from me and I did complain about the pain. I tried to turn around but each time you grabbed the pile of hair on your tray and went to the garbage. And now you are trying to say I had a medical condition!??? The length you have gone to take any accountability is truly sad. I'm writing this in hopes that others won't have to go through this. Please get more training before you attempt this again. read more

Tanya is my girl! I used to get Haircuts from her when she worked at Supercuts in Pukalani and followed her to the new Salon in Makawao! First off the salon is super inviting, well maintained and very delightfully decorated. Love the baby blue accents! I got a haircut only this time no dye job. I hadn't cut my hair in over 6 months since I wanted to grow it out. I've always had other hair technicians always cut off way more than I asked for but Tanya always gets it right! She started me off with a shampoo and gave a great head massage. She then cut my hair and blow dried it! Towards the end of the massage it did start pouring outside but hearing the rain fall was so pretty inside the salon! Def recommend this place! They also do nails ( no acrylic or fiberglass ) and waxing. Also on a side note they were voted best new business on Maui last year! read more

A huge shout out to Kelly at Mirror Mirror, last Sat I went to get my hair touched up I wanted some darker highlights added to tone down my blonde. I went to a new stylist as mine had moved away, I won't really get into all that happened as I kept telling the person my hair looks blue and green what is going on I asked the person to stop several times and he said don't worry it's going to be beautiful I ended up walking out completely mortified, so upset my hair was destroyed it was 4 different colors blue green white and orange and frizzy !!! It was the worst color experience with a stylist I've ever had in my entire life. In a panic I called Mirror Mirror in emergency mode haha as you know this was an emergency!! They got me in today with an amazing stylist she had to do color correction treated my hair for the damage and basically redo my whole entire color the result is fabulous!!! She is amazing I really thought my hair was destroyed for good, I am so happy I just want to let everybody I know if you're looking for a new stylist Kelly at Mirror Mirror is absolutely fantastic she is sweet genuine kind smart and was very attentive and knows what she's doing!!! When my appointment was cancelled due to the hairdresser feeling sick I wanted a haircut so badly that I called to see if per chance they had an opening and Cheri took me in as her last appointment. We'll, I am so happy she did because I love my haircut ! I've had hundreds of pedicures in my life, and bar none, this was the BEST EVER! Shelley was extraordinarily gentle, thorough and skilled. I was not at all surprised to learn that she had been an instructor. She paid attention to the overall health and condition of my feet - not just the beautiful appearance I walked out with. The salon's hygiene protocol was meticulous, and while the decor and service was high end, the prices were reasonable. I'm not a Yelper, but felt compelled to share. Kate saved my life. After my CT wedding the decorative hair clip I had on locked into my hair. I spent 5 hours removing it in pieces but was left with a massive dreadlock covering 80% of my hair. I had to immediately fly to Maui for my honeymoon. I spent my first morning here calling for a salon to help. Late spent 3 hours working the massive knot out instead of buzzing my head.
