Katie is wonderful. I had not had a professional haircut in 9 years and had been doing my best cutting it myself. As a curly girl, I've had some haircut nightmares, so I came in pretty nervous. Katie was kind, understanding, patient, and confident. She is very knowledgeable, skilled, and talented. She asked great questions, really listened, and even cut my hair in steps to help me feel more comfortable throughout the process. I walked out with a gorgeous cut and will definitely be back again in about 4 months. Afterward, I went to Mana Foods, and the very first person who saw me said they had to come closer because they loved my hair so much. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and book with Katie. On our last day in Maui, we had a few hours to explore before our flight out, and were looking for something to do. We found this gem on Yelp after grabbing lunch nearby, and made our way around the staircase to the second floor, to see if they had time for a walk-in kid's cut (his inaugural one!). The vibe inside this place reminded me of how hair salons used to feel 20 years ago (at least on the mainland). Hair stylists chit chatting with another, joking, smiling, laughing. Hair salons used to feel so chill, personal and familial like that. These days everything feels very corporate and structured and it made me realize how much I miss that kind of feeling. Anyway, let's get back to the haircut! Somehow, we really lucked out. The stylist was just fantastic (sorry I forgot her name!). She was an absolute pro and made our little guy look like a very young Bradley Cooper (and, he did great too). He was super comfortable around her, and we are very sad she doesn't live closer. I tried calling, no answer, I tried messaging though their website, no answer, I texted, no answer. Their site doesn't indicate that they are closed. So sadly I couldn't schedule an appointment. My hairdresser, Meghan, made inappropriate and rude remarks about how I looked. She face shamed me for being less attractive than celebrities I cited in an effort to show her what color blonde I wanted. I carefully explained how I wanted her to do my hair and she ended up doing the opposite. Her boyfriend came into salon and started making rude remarks about why he didn't like blondes because he thought they were "ditzy". I was the only person getting hair done in salon and I was trying to get blonde highlights. Other hairdresser in shop told me that they "talk shit", so she basically validated my concern. I addressed everything with shop owner, Jeffie, the next day and then asked for a free redo as I paid over 200 and included tip, to keep it classy, and she refused. She said they would do a redo at a discount and she defended her hairdresser and actually gaslit me and said I wasn't clear with hairdresser on what I wanted. I left disgruntled and angry and felt completely unsupported by owner and staff. read more

Kacie Leigh is a shitty stylist and even worse of a person. I have honestly never been treated so badly in a salon before. I went back and forth on wether I would write a review because the owner does seem like a really nice person. This is about the stylist specifically though, and I think people deserve to know so they can think twice before visiting her. She was rude, abrasive, narcissistic, demeaning, and had bad hair. I would rather get my hair done by my dogs groomer, at least she's a professional. I have never left a salon before in tears, and I will never go back. If you decide to give them a shot, just use any stylist but this chick. I think it's really sad for a business to have no sense of Aloha here on the best place on Earth. This is the most unprofessional salon I have ever been to. I did not like my haircut from Jeffe the owner. I scheduled a hair color that I waited almost 3 weeks for and went in the day I was scheduled to find Jeffe not there.
