I found this hidden gem because my hairstylist, Stephanie relocated here and I absolutely love it! It is so cozy and the music playing makes me feel like I'm in a fancy hotel lounge... Parking is limited to 6 stalls but it is free in the back of the salon. There is also free parking in the parking garage across the street for the first two hours and $1/hr thereafter. It's been years since I've had my hair done professionally and I was long overdue to treat myself to a cut and color. I went in to see Derek with a picture to show what color I wanted and he matched it perfectly! I wanted something bright and fun blended with more natural tones. First he did a beautiful layered cut to serve as the canvas for my colors. Then he lightened my previously color treated hair to ensure the new colors would show up as vibrantly as possible. The color process was long, but worth every minute. When the color was finished, Derek and Catalina worked together to dry and style my hair. When they turned me around to face the mirror I was so happy with the results of their hard work! I couldn't believe how beautiful the color, cut and style were! My hair has never looked better, and I owe it all to Derek and Catalina I cannot wait to come back and see them again! Very welcoming place. I needed a last minute haircut prior to my trip and every salon was booked- I came across this fairly new salon and loved it! I had a cut & color appointment with the owner -Karlie. I showed her a few photos of what I was going after and let her do her thing. She took her time with my hair and made sure I was comfortable with my hair before I left. I also met the other owner who was also extra sweet and welcoming. First of all, I want to say that this place looks amazing and I'm sure that Marc and Kelly do excellent work! I feel bad about leaving a lower rating, but I thought it would be worthwhile to share this exchange in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation. I made an appointment request for a cut and highlights with Kelly, and in the notes mentioned that I wanted to ask about the possibility of applying my typical color over the highlights (not a deal breaker!). Kelly texted me back to mention that she only uses Aveda products. I explained my situation and asked if there were any colors similar to mine in the Aveda line up. Kelly responded that she couldn't help me and abruptly canceled my appointment. Here's how the exchange went: Kelly: "Hi Ulu, This is Kelly from Loft 145.. I see you have requested an appointment with me and I saw your note about the product you want. I only use Aveda products fyi" Me: "Hey, thank you for responding! So the full story is that I am trying to figure out how to both have fresh color and a blow out (I have 3b curls) for an event the next day. I thought if it were possible to bring in my own color (it's blue for brown hair) to apply after highlighting that would solve the issue. Do you have anything non-permanent in the blue range for aveda color? If so, and you have the time, maybe I could add that as another service?" (I get a text saying my appointment was declined.) Kelly: "Thank you for getting in touch with me but I don't think I can help you... U can try Beauty Bar or Salon 253, Have a nice day :)" Me: Oh no! Beauty Bar is actually my regular place but they are booked up, and so is Salon 253. Do you think it's possible to keep the appointment, but just do the services I requested? I'll figure something else out for styling!" Kelly: "I can't help u I'm so sorry. Try Evolution salon" Me: "Is it possible to just come in for a cut? Or do you have a conflict that day? I'm sorry, I don't understand why the entire appointment is being canceled" ... and that was the end of the conversation. I was pretty shocked that there was no room for flexibility/explanation in our exchange! I'm wondering if Kelly was just very busy and maybe I should have called instead to talk, but still, it almost came off as if consultation about the service wasn't worth the effort for her. I do appreciate that she recommended other salons. (Kelly, if you're reading this and I've misinterpreted the situation, let me know and I'll edit or take the review down.) read more

I am visiting the island of Maui for 6 weeks and half way through my stay I needed a touch up. I decided to do a full color because I had I had lost so much of my color due to the sun. I was searching for an Aveda hair salon and this salon was reccomended to me by a local gal. I booked wIth Kelly and she did an excellent job! I have gotten so many compliments on my haIr since my appointment! The salon is beautiful, clean and well maintained. I met the owner and he was extremely personable and welcoming. He spent essential time listening to my style options and making recommendations based on his knowledge of my hair type and lifestyle. From the moment you walk in you seem to be in one of the top salons in LA! This place is AWESOME! I have been to over 7 other salons on island and this one hands down beats them all!! Complimentary hand massage while waiting and senior stylists who are detailed with your cut and color.
