This place is an absolute JOKE. The girls working here are extremely unprofessional with no skill or talent. It's either that or they are still in hair dressing school and we happened to be their guinea pigs. This is my third time here and they manage to screw it up every time. I want to give them a chance thinking it's probably just a bad day but it's really hard to with the same staff who is extremely unskilled. The first time I took my daughter and sam cut one inch off in a straight line which I could have done at home. The second time I went in to get layers. Sam didn't know how to blend the layers so Hailey had to step in and take over mid way since sam didn't know what she was doing. Yesterday I went in for my daughter specifically asking I didn't want Sam so they gave me Becca who was worse than Sam. She had a bad attitude and she didn't want to admit how she was new at this and didn't know what she was doing. I told her I wanted to get an a line bob for my 4 year old daughter. If she didn't feel comfortable giving a child a haircut she should have been honest and I would have been fine and gone elsewhere. Becca started cutting without knowing how to cut an a line bob. Now she asks Sam for help mid way because she didn't know what to do. They both kept blaming my 4 year old daughter for moving. They didn't want to admit how they aren't good at their job and are clueless of what they are doing so they decide to blame my daughter. I have gotten this same haircut for my daughter at other places without them having an issue. It was too late as Sam kept chopping and chopping without knowing what she's doing. Honestly this place is a train wreck. Good luck if you choose to go here. I had to take my daughter to sharkeys in Pleasanton to get this fixed asap as no one knows what they are doing here. Some guy answers the phone here and said he would call back once he finds another hairdresser to fix this mess but never called back. Horrible customer service. I've been here twice now and walked out happy twice. They can get busy, so booking an appointment is best. Prices are good, $28 for a cut. If you do that, wash your hair ahead of time. They can wash and dry your hair for more, but I appreciate the option. The shop itself is clean and has some seating area for walk-ins and waiting. Yesterday a hairdresser named 'Sam' cut my hair, when I looked at it at home, it was completely off by an inch or more, completely uneven and chopped up. how do you mess up a guys straightforward trim haircut so bad is beyond me. Spoke with them and their attitude was even worse, the manager Hailey offered no apology no regret, she was like I can try fix it for you but I don't trust them to touch my hair anymore, after what the other lady did. No Stars at all!!! I checked in on the app and at the counter when I arrived. I waited about 30 mins. One person was in front of me and a couple walked in 15 mins after me. Clearly I'm 2nd in line!!! Common sense!!! The nerve, of the couple to try and cut in front of me and the stylist didn't know I walked in before them!!! Really!? But I ended up sitting in the chair first after the stylist ALISIA said "Well someone better sit in this chair" and her colleague told her that I was here first since she checked me in. I cannot believe how Supercuts has changed since I've been a kid. It has been well over 30 years since I've been. $27 for a haircut that took 10 mins!? Really? I didn't know there was such a thing!? I don't remember there being a time limit. When I was a kid my haircut was 30-40 mins and my haircut looked great back then. I'm so disappointed and upset with the quality and service I received. My haircut literally took 10 mins and I cannot believe how it turned out! The quality and the rush to get in and out because of other customers waiting to get haircuts is not a good experience at all. I don't know how this place has been in this business all these years if they're running it like this? What a disappointment and embarrassment! Found it pretty friendly and quick service. Never in rush and acknowledge the check-ins with punctuality.

It took 50 minutes before I get the call for service. I used the online check in because they advertise it for customers not to wait too long. They only have 2 person to attend to the customers on a very busy day, and seconds before my turn, on of them went somewhere from what I heard some personal reason. I am a supercut loyal customer and always uses their service. The previous service that I have, it was maximum 20 minutes wait before they call you (still bad). I am sure that it would not be a big lost for you supercut, I will never go back to get my haircut from you. You just lost one loyal customer. read more

I walked in a couple weeks ago for a trim, did not specify who I wanted since it was my first time coming in and I literally just wanted an inch taken off as I am growing out my hair and cannot afford a $60 haircut right now. I was stuck with the male hairdresser (Dennis?) & as soon as I saw him and his station I should have ran. All his clippers and scissors were out and had hair trimmings on them...that has to be against a regulation? He scolded me on waiting so long between cuts and kept insisting I should have more taken off (sorry dude, I do not trust you that much). My first mistake was ever coming in, my second was saying yes to having long layers trimmed (he did not ask how far up to go, did not separate my part, just started cutting...) at that point the hair is gone, I can't get it back on so I decided, let's just ride this out and hope for a decent cut at the end. Needless to say, it is not decent and now I will need to get it fixed...lesson learned. Pay more at a reputable salon or check yelp for who has good reviews. read more

Never again. I've been going to this business for probably ten years now, and it seems to have been in steady decline, especially lately. While the quality of the haircuts are fine (sometimes good, sometimes, not so good) the running of the business is pretty sloppy. Don't bother making an appointment if your time is valuable because such niceties are meaningless at this location. My last time, I waited 35 minutes after my scheduled time and the previous appointment I was made to wait even longer. Nor is there any acknowledgment of the time you've unnecessarily wasted. Solid hair cut joint! I'm not one to pay more than $40 for a haircut (not including tip), so I found this place incredibly reasonable considering they only charge $20 for a standard haircut. It used to be a gamble when I first started going here 5 years ago, but they've recently maintained a pretty good staff! Lisa is amazing and does my hair every time I need a trim. This is my regular place to go to get a haircut. The last two times I have been in here the lady running the shop has screwed up my appointment. Last time she made me wait over an hour past my appt time and then again today when I got down there she told me it would be at least another 30 minutes. I dont have 30 minutes to wait besides last time she said that it was over an hour. If she doesnt know how to operate the appt system she shouldnt be working there. Ive had it with supercuts. Been coming here for almost two years. Had an incident several weeks ago with the manager that was based on a disagreement on my reservation. There was no argument, not name calling, just a disagreement. I stayed the extra time in the shop and eventually got my hair cut. Tonight I sat in the shop for nearly an hour before the same manager told me that she did mot feel comfortable cutting my hair. She also said her coworker did not feel comfortable helping me either. Even though she cut my hair around 4 times in the last 8 weeks. So I left the store. My only comment was that was poor behavior from a manager. I just had one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. My 5 year old also had one of the worst haircuts - she didn't listen to what I asked for - and rushed through both cuts. To top it off, when she asked my 5-year old if he wanted to sucker. He said "yes, may I please have one for my older brother?" This broke my heart... she responded with "NO! ONLY ONE FOR YOU!" Really? I always provide a good tip - you can't give a kid a 2nd sucker for his brother? I've had ok cuts here before - so it does just depend on who you go to. I only walk out of a business once. Today was the day for this Supercuts. I have been coming here off and on for 10 years. There is nothing special to recommend it. It's an inexpensive place to get a haircut. I usually walk in and wait for whoever is next up in the rotation. I came in tonight and they told me it would be a 25 minute wait. That was fine, I left my name and went over to the Lucky store to pick up a few things. I returned and waited patiently for another 30 minutes before losing patience and walking out. They served several other customers while I waited. There were 3 employees in the shop, but only one was cutting hair at any given time. None were cutting hair when I left. I won't return. read more

This is my second time being here. The first hair cut was alright, a little uneven but it was easily fixable at home (which I shouldn't need to do in the first place)! This haircut I just got now though... Both sides of my head are uneven! All I asked for was a 1 on the sides and to get my top trimmed/thinned out. When you choose a large, walk-in hair chain, you're taking a gamble. You're accepting the advantage of convenience, but also the risk of a mediocre or outright bad haircut from someone that might lack the experience, talent, or motivation to give good, consistent haircuts from customer to customer. Supercuts on Portola in Livermore is no exception to the rule. Today marked the fourth time I've been to this location, and I've had a different stylist every time. Today's cut was a good one - easily the best I've had here. Of the other three, one was good, one was below average/uneven, and the other was awful and required constant coaching on my part to get it to look remotely decent. Also, my haircut is fairly simple, I've been getting it the same way for years, and I give the instructions the exact same way every time, so there shouldn't be much variation between stylists. There you have it: 50% good, 25% below average, 25% FML. Your best bet is to find a stylist that works for you and stick with her, or you're going to keep rolling those dice every couple of weeks. I waffled between a two and three star review, but the two disappointing haircuts finally pushed it into Meh-ville. read more

I was trying out a new style, which I later decided I didn't like as much, so I kept on experimenting with different waxes and pastes. Amy gave me a great cut, just what I had in mind. I have been going here for about 4 years. I like my cuts. I was wearing shoulder length curly hair, now it is short. I had it dyed with a semi-perm color that I just loved, it was a brown violet. I am a satisfied customer. I usually call to see if my person has time to see me. Then when I get there the wait time is pretty good. But since they do walk-ins and need to take people as they arrive, it makes it more difficult for them to hold time. That is what you get if you want to walk in a salon. Teri is my stylist here, she is great. She does a nice cut and she does a color weave as well. She is as good as stylist at fancy places but at Supercuts the price is better. The location is great: easy parking, comfy seating area while you are waiting, music is not too loud like some places, and the air conditioning keeps up with the Livermore summers. read more

Was my first time back in a hair salon after about a year. My hair is wavy curls and I usual wear my hair really short but want to grow it out and get rid of my split ends. I love the undercut style and want to grow my hair out long with one. Stopped in on September 3rd, was greeted with warm smiles at the counter from a women named Teri and felt really welcomed. Didn't know who I would be paired with for a trim but was paired with a funny and very sweet women named Sheri. Awesome personality and service, laid back and really made me feel confident in the hairstyle I wanted. She has a lot of knowledge of undercuts since she used to wear it for years and helped turned my hair into a true undercut, really showing off the cut itself, and we even talked about adding some color to it with a next visit. The atmosphere itself was great too, during my cut I was laughing with the ladies and really enjoying my time there. Teri was walking around engaging the others in conversation, checking in, a lot of laughs, and the whole environment just felt really great, welcoming, no judgement, and warm.
