Here on vacation and we saw this Supercuts by the Safeway kinda down from Leonard's Bakery on a very hot day back in December. Hubby wanted a hair cut, wasn't busy inside. Hubby had a # 3 Cesar, that's his go to haircut with a salon he normally doesn't go to. She kinda did a good job. I did have to trim some straggler hair when we got back to our hotel. That to us was not a deal breaker, had to be done was quite noticeable when we got outside in the sunlight. Place was clean, staff friendly. Supercuts have great prices on hair cuts and they except walk-ins. We like Supercuts. With any franchise you have good and you have bad. The best Supercuts is in Kihei Maui by the Safeway best salon we have been too while vacationing on Hawaii. Remember this is just our experience. read more

Stay away from Minh, manager. The worst hair cut I ever had. This is the supercuts on kapahulu, near safeway and genki. I normally go to the supercuts on waialae ave, across City Mill. I was excited to get my hair cut, since its been about a year. Minh took 5 minutes to cut my hair, didn't check if the levels were same. I only asked for about 2-3 inches from bottom, trim sides and bangs, and need to put my in ponytail. Didn't realize until I got home, what the results were. I tried to put my hair into a ponytail. The hair below my ear was hanging down 3 inches, on left side. The hair below my ear was hanging down 2 inches, on right side. Uneven and this hair hanging was cut too short, and not able to put into ponytail. I called Minh, manager, spoke to him about my bad haircut, he got very defensive and stated it was my fault. He was very unprofessional, rude, stated if I request for a refund, my name would have a Black Flag and would never be able to return. I told him, it's not my fault, and he cut my hair incorrectly. This is the most horrendous experience I've ever had with my hair. I came in for a straight cut trim. the young man with blonde hair in his mid 20s sat me down and I told him to cut about 2 inches. He started cutting higher and it was about 3 1/2 inches. I was feeling uncomfortable but he had already made the initial cut so it had to be that short. He then told me that he was going to ignore my request and take it up another inch and a half and cut before I could have a say in it. that inch and a half was about another 3 inches. I didn't even need to look in the mirror to know that it was very uneven and I just wanted to leave at that point. I'm going to have to cut my hair even shorter to fix this. I was a walk-in after they opened at 9:00 a.m. There was one stylist cutting someone's hair, with another customer seated and waiting. I was acknowledged by the stylist, but she kept cutting hair, so I figured she was the only one there. After waiting a few more minutes, another stylist came in the door, said hello and asked me to take a seat. After putting his stuff away, he then asked if I was signed in, and I told him no, so he entered my name into the system. I was then escorted to his station. Henry was very pleasant, and I explained to him what I wanted done. He gave me the cut I asked for, and I was very pleased with the result. He checked the cut to be sure everything was even, did a little touch up, and I was done. Henry was easy to chat with, and seemed to be very mellow. Not sure what happened to my review...but I will relate my experience again. I wished I had read the reviews before I had my hair cut at this location. I wanted a blunt hair cut,about an inch taken off the bottom....straight accross ! I didn't realize the bad cut until I got home and wow! ....I could not believe how chopped up it was..Unbelievable. When I sat down, specifically was talking about layers and how I want it long layers. Minh apparently the manager from eating these reviews, and then asked me what the longest length I wanted was so he was moving comb down the length of my hair, and when I said stop, that's what I had assumed he was talking about layers where I wanted them to start. No, he takes scissors. He says I'm just gonna cut a little right here to use it as a baseline for where I should cut the rest of the hair and he cuts off a 3 inch long chunk of my hair. Before this haircut, my hair reached the bottom of my butt and now after the haircut, it has barely reached my boobs. To ask the client how long you want your haircut do you have to ask specifically and what length would you like your hair or how much would you like off the end you don't just say what is the longest length you want after the client just talking about their layers because I am thinking we're still on the subject and talking about how long I want my fucking layers to be. I brought this to his attention multiple times during the thing and he was like yeah well I already cut it so I know you already fucking cut it but what am I supposed to do? I'm just letting you know. After the haircut is done, he proceeds to tell me that I still have to pay, even though it's not what I wanted and this miscommunication is on him even though he's blaming me after I pay, I'm literally like about to cry, so I just ask my boyfriend if we can go and I just start crying because I literally can't hold it back, mind you I haven't cried once since I gave birth and that was over 2 1/2 years ago, so if I'm crying, you know it's for real. having my boyfriend get in a screaming match because of how rude he is and he's literally blaming me for not communicating properly when he should've asked explicitly how long I wanted my hair not after I was talking about layers thinking he's asking where I want my layers to start. And then he says K fine I'll give you a refund and he's like oh look look how happy you are after I say that and then he continues to argue with us and then says fine you're not gonna get your fucking refund and tries to kick us out of the store all while he has a customer waiting on the bench. I hate literally try to drag him into the argument saying oh I don't know if he was here or not, but he heard it referring to the whole conversation or as he likes to say miscommunication about my hair length. He is the worst hair cutter, and you probably shouldn't have him as a Fucking Store manager if he's being this route to customers and blaming every single one of them. I did contact corporate, but I don't know if they'll do anything about it and I paid in cash and I didn't get receipt but I'm going back today. he doesn't even deserve one star he deserves negative stars because of how rude he is. He was also super judgmental about the health of my hair like yes I know it's dry and super damaged because I fucking bleached it three times like you don't have to be so rude or judgmental when you're dealing with customer service probably should pick up better career read more

I am so so glad that they have re-opened. Minh, the manager, gives superb cuts, and seems to be the only one I have used in a decade who can cut evenly. They are super aware of covid safety and I trust him to run a tight ship for our safety as well. I went for a haircut and I got an awkward massage... By far the most awkward haircut experience of my life. I no longer cared that my haircut was bad, I just wanted to go home. It started off strange when I sat in a chair that hadn't been cleaned. I showed the woman a photo of how I want my hair, then she began cutting no questions. The clippers were dug into my head and pulled my hair. When there were too many trimmings all over the place she turned on a hairdryer to blow the hair away. Instead of blowing it away from me, she had he hairdryer pointed toward me, hair flew right in my face. She then begin with the scissors, pulling and yanking my hair, actually hurting me. When it was all done, she constantly asked if I wanted gel, since she said it'll look better with gel. She never offered a mirror or asked if it was ok. It got REALLY weird when she pulled the collar of my shirt, (stretching it to the point I can't use it as an outside shirt.) She placed a towel under my shirt collar then got two steaming hot towels and pressed them into my head and neck. They were super hot and burned. Then she started massaging my neck and stuck her hands down the back of my shirt to massage my back. I had no clue what was going on, and felt EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE!! She started to massage my shoulders, I told her I don't need a massage. I felt so uncomfortable I hurried up to pay and left immediately. Got home and realized home bad the back of my head was looking and how badly my shirt was stretched. Also my haircut looked nothing like what I asked for. I'm never going here again. I walked in and sat down at a chair. I asked for a simple short haircut, asked for a #4 on the sides and back and a little longer on the top. The barber never used the clippers with a #4 attachment on it, just used bare clippers with a comb instead. A #4 haircut should leave hair a half inch long but my hair was left around 2.5 inches. Idk if the guy didn't hear me or doesn't know what a number 4 haircut is but I need to get another cut tomorrow because it is still way too long. Be aware of price when you do hair cut here and be aware that they will charge you for $75 hair cut with FULL blow dry. Don't mind complaining to the manager of the shop, they're rude and will tell you to go online to do the complaint. I came for the hair cut, , Leanne said $28, when I was in ask for shampoo, she said then it's $35. Once I got my hair cut, my hair half dry, she said I have to pay $40 to get it blow dry. So I have to pay $75 for my haircut including blow dry. This is ridiculous. I shouldn't pay for her tips but I was so shocked. How can you know that your hair cut is good without blow dry to set it! My hair was five inches past the shoulder and she said I have to pay for $40 to have it blow dry. If you provide them with your email as a first-time customer, you'll get $2 off your next visit. My 1-inch trim took less than 10 minutes and Haley was pleasant. She even suggested a Paul Mitchell spray to combat my split ends. The only surprise was that all cuts are $19. I need to start this by saying I've never cried in a salon chair, OR wrote a bad yelp review . That changed today. I went it just asking for some touch up on my highlights as my roots were going in. The pictures tell the story. I was horrified when my hair was washed after asking for toner and being denied. She then asked if I was happy and I said no because there were visible lines all over my head, and she had taken some of my roots and died them just at the root and left a huge streak of brown connecting to the grown out highlights . She then added more color and only let it sit for ten minutes so when she washed them out, not only are my highlights the most bizaare looking thing they are now orange. I started crying in the chair she told me it wasn't that bad and then tried to charge me 80$. I told her what she had done to my head was unacceptable, so she discounted me 60 and told me to come back and color my hair all one color. I left crying and am so angry I had to spend 60$ on looking worse than I did coming in. Look at these pictures I can't even figure out what is going on. I am so un happy and can't believe this woman has a license to do hair, it's worse than a Bad streaks or bad chunky highlights, I literally have no idea how they could have turned out This bad. read more

I know the reviews here are mixed. I have only been here once because I was visiting, I don't live in this area. I will just say that there was a short Asian woman who was very sweet who cut my hair. I'm sorry I don't know her name. She gave me a great haircut and was polite, courteous and professional. All in all a good experience. The only reason I give 4 stars is because they don't allow you to book appointments a day or two ahead. You can only book appointments the same day. I had the stylist named Mai and she did not care whatsoever about cutting my hair. Her clippers kept scratching my skin and I told her but she continued to cut carelessly. Then when she got to the back of my head, it cut me til I was bleeding and I had to lean forward to avoid getting cut more... I've been going here to cut my hair once a month for over half a year. This is the first time I've been mad at a hair cut from this location. I don't know her name but she was tall, skinny and FOB, this was probably her 2nd time giving me a haircut. She was in a rush to get it over with, even though they were dead AF, with only me and another customer that just walked in, they had a staff of 4. So she had no reason to be in such a hurry. I asked her for a trim, cut the sides short and to even out everything. Less then 10 minutes in she tells me she's done and I was like no your not the sides don't match up with the top, then she asks tell me what to do. The first thought that went through my head was aren't these guys pros? So I told her what I want, which was to get the top and side to match up with nothing sticking out, she understood what I wanted but couldn't deliver for the 2nd time so I was over her trying to cut my hair. I asked her to let me go, I'll pay I just don't want you to cut my hair. She goes on telling me ill fix, tell me what to do, if you want to wait I could get someone else to cut your hair. I'm like no, I don't wanna come here again. You tell me that my uncomplete haircut is done when it's obvious it's not, the top of the sides aren't even matched up with the top, there's still a big portion that's sticking out on both sides like a 90 degree point, she's a fucking JOKE.
