I like coming here for my hair trim/easy cut in between my longer cuts/style/highlights at my regular salon (which is much more of an experience etc which I don't need to pay for when I'm doing a basic cut/trim as I do here). Andrew is great. Efficient, listens, makes sure I'm okay with length and style, and talented. I like that I don't have to get my hair washed and blow dried so it saves on time. The salon is Clean. Easy to make appt online. No major frills but pleasant service. Big space and conveniently located. I mean the salon itself is fine. The service is fine. What irks me the most is the appointment system. But you can't really call it that. I scheduled a haircut for 5:30 PM. I get there at 5:27 and I kid you not, what I'm told is that the time I booked doesn't mean anything and that once the stylist finishes a cut, she has to take another cut, which would take minimum 20-30 minutes until I can get my hair cut. I don't have time for this. That's why you book an appointment on a website. If I can select 5:30, you would think 5:30 is available????? My issue isn't the wait. It's that you should take the times off the website if they're not available because it's a waste of your customers' time to go there and be told that the appointment they booked isn't available. As someone who doesn't like wasting their time and doesn't have this issue elsewhere, I will never be back :). To all those in need of a haircut, there are plenty of locations around this supercuts. You should know, for context, that I don't believe in paying too much for a haircut. Also, that I believe that I have very simple hair that is not complicated to cut. With that being said, this a good location of Supercuts. I have been to this location twice. Once recently, and once about two years ago. First, it is in a convenient location. I work in the loop and this an easy walk or bus ride from my office. It is much easier that trying to rush home to get to a barber shop in my neighborhood on time. This location is open until 8:00 pm during the week, so their is plenty of time to get here. Second, they do a good job. The two time I've been here, I've been satisfied with the haircuts I've gotten. The stylist followed my directions well, and cut my hair like I like it. I might have easy hair to cut, but I still have my preferences. Third, they are efficient. Both times I went without an appointment, but I waited only a minimal amount of time. Also, the cut itself was quick. Both times I can here after work, and I wanted to get in and out, and I did just that. Four, it's a clean barbershop. Both times I visited the floors were clean, the shop was bright ans everything was neat. In sum, this a good place is get a good cut at a decent price. read more

My stylist Annmarie, was nice; Veronica interrupted our conversation with my stylist to tell me what I cannot do, ignoring the current hair issue we were dealing with, she was rude. I have gone here on and off for a few years. sometimes I go to someone name Veronica who is very efficient and fast. But what I do is I call and tell them I will be there in half and hour. I'm a very neat person and things bother me when not ran in a smooth transition. So her spending the short time that was given to these staff members, telling me how the color would blend with my currently dyed hair was appreciated. I rarely write reviews. But, I had to express how happy I was to stumble across this place and how grateful I am to Rosa, one of the stylist at this location. I had went to a different hair salon in a completely different state and city and the stylist there had messed my hair cut up really bad. I have long hair and asked for a straight even cut in the back and front layers to frame my face. Not what what I ended up with. The front on my left side was choppy looking and not blending in at all. While visiting the city today I had some time to kill, so I decided to see if they were able to fix it. Rosa was amazing, she suggested the best way to cut my hair without cutting to much off. The front "layers" was my main concern as that was the worst part of the cut. She took her time and measured to make sure it was even to the other side. She warned me that it may still look a little choppy because of how short and bad the last lady had left it. And she didn't want to cut to much. BUT, when she finished it looked good and it all blended well. She had to round off my hair in the back to make the cut blended better. Now that I styled my hair it looks amazing, like it never happened! I am so happy with my hair cut. It's all blended and doesn't have a choppy look. Also the price is extremely fair. I waited a full week to write this review so I could be impartial and unemotional especially because I know hair grows back and I booked this appointment at the last minute. I've been cutting my own hair for two years because my hair is very tricky. I have a combination of frizzy and curly, wavy hair. I have a lot of hair but it's fine and shouldn't be over layered nor should the weight be removed. I called this location at 5pm and was told to come in before 6pm which is their closing time. There were men waiting patiently for their cuts and then Rosa ushered me to a chair. My hair should not be cut wet as a rule because it shrinks up a lot. Rosa asked me what I wanted to do and I told her to simply even out my layers that I had cut into my hair. I usually give myself some variation of a shag or "Unicorn cut" widely demonstrated on YouTube tutorials. Rosa suggested I get a shampoo and that she cut my hair wet for better accuracy. I agreed and asked her for purple shampoo while she rinsed my hair and she found some then got me in and out of the basin in lightning speed. When she sat me down she asked if she could remove half an inch because my hair seemed dry but I asked her to simply dust my ends and fix whatever was uneven. Instead of evening my layers she pulled all my hair in more layers away from my face like an angled harsh v shape. I always cut my layers towards my face so it lays softer. She finished the cut in 8 minutes and was going to have me leave her chair without drying me so I asked if I could use the dryer and she said she had to do it by law so she hurriedly brushed my hair away from my face without using any styling products and I asked her to let me please sit forward and have her use the dryer differently while my hair is upside down so I could have body. She basically added more layers to the interior section of my hair and sadly a lot of my natural curl is gone and so is the weight or body of my hair. It's definitely a v cut more suitable for a woman who has naturally heavy, thick, curly hair. The price was cheap but I wasn't trying to find a cheap cut; I just wanted someone to genuinely care enough to help fix any small mistakes I had made cutting my own hair. She rushed the cut without taking consideration for the texture of my hair or the shape of my bone structure. I think my own self haircutting techniques were more thoughtfully created than her 8 minute hurried haircut. It appears this location just works off volume of people they can accommodate till 6pm. She didn't seem excited to help me ...it just felt like a routine 9 to 5 rush job. Hair does grow back so I'm going to ignore my hair for a year or so and definitely look into a salon either here in Chicago or another city where a future stylist will hopefully care a lot more about the outcome of my style than what I received here last week. A good cut consists of a combination of how the hair will lay when its wet and when it dries in its natural state. I just feel like my feelings weren't taken into consideration here and I had expected better than this kind of treatment. I'm assuming the stylists here treat their regular clients with more respect than what I received here. My suggestion for new people here is to book an advanced appointment and ask for a consultation first because my experience here was rushed and extremely unprofessional. read more

I found this location in River North, a little further than I wanted but I didn't mind for the right experience. Well, thanks to Yelp, I found out about Ana. She is first and foremost a consummate professional. She's great at her job, at communicating, at giving suggestions, about remembering her customers and their nuances, and in addition to that she's just a kind and caring person. Full disclaimer, Ana has transferred to the loop location at the Thompson center, but this location is still very nice and in fact one of her own family members is still here. I saw Armando's name a lot, so I booked a time with him and I've been going for probably, close to a year now, every 2 weeks on the dot. There's been a couple times when he wasn't available on the days I went, so I would book next available stylist. 3 different stylists and they all did a great job as well.
