First, let me start out by saying.. Thank you!!!! This might be a little long, but well deserved. I came in on Wednesday, June 6th, thinking the worst. I had let a friend attempt to cut my lovely locks, and basically had it end in a hair-catastrophe, no fault to my friend, strictly my own. I knew I was kinda in limbo on how professional it would look in the first place. My own fault. But, I needed help. I literally didn't know what to do, until my friend recommend I head to supercuts since it was right there, and quick. I was skeptical, not going to lie. But, ANYTHING was better than what I was walking in with! When I walked in, not only was there ZERO wait, (I'm a new mom, of an 11 month old baby, so, THIS WAS HUGE!) I was greeted by the sweetest girl with PURPLE hair. I have BLUE hair myself, so I felt like i was instantly in good hands. Not to mention, she had great hair! I told her what was going on, later for her to let me know her name was LORISA, and that she would be able to absolutely help me out. My name is Lauren, so, maybe it was fate.. While i was telling her what was going on, I was terrified to cut my hair anymore. I had her trim it, HATED it. BUT, not because of the cut, because of the length. Which was not her fault at all. Chatting some more, we got to talking about how processed my hair had gotten. She was giving me great advice on ways to manage it, help regrow the length out, and ways to keep it from getting so damaged. We cut it again. Once again, I only let her take a little more off, thinking, it'll be the fix I needed. Hated it again. Little did I know, the fix i needed was just honesty. LORISA was so honest with me that I felt like I was having coffee with one of my girlfriends. Nobody likes to hear their hair is over processed. Yet, she made me feel confident enough that I decided to go all in. I cut all my hair off!! ..and guess what, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I don't think without LORISA in my corner, I would have been able to do it. Not only is the style PERFECT, my hair doesn't feel like an entire 3rd grade class threw their chewing gum in my hair. Finally, I can run my hands through my hair. Here's the double whammy.. After all was said and done, I asked her how long she had been working there. 3 MONTHS!! She had just finished her probationary period, and gave me a haircut like I had just gone to a salon in San Francisco. She's crazy talented, her customer service skills are on point if not 100% higher than most, and honestly I think i want her to be one of my best friends. This review is more or less for Miss Rose. I've had my haircut at at least a dozen locations around Vallejo/Benicia. Most everyone could do the fade, but not the comb over, or vice-versa. I have a very "tedious" haircut, but Rose can do it all, and takes however long she needs to to get it right. Unfortunately they(besides Deb) don't always do a good job of rotating check-ins and phone calls, so she may have to stop 10 times during the cut. Rose deserves a raise! Thank you! read more

This is the worst customer service that I had ever experienced in my existence in this universe! Had an appointment for my daughter and was greeted very unprofessional, no manners, very rude asian old lady with purple hair named Elena! As soon as we walk through that door, her face look so pissed already and was asked in a mad voice- "Do you have an appointment?" I said "yes" politely. Because I don't know yet if she is making a joke with that serious face? Then she asked again, "what do you wanna be done?" I said haircut and color. Then, as if she does not wanna work, she walked to the salon chair! I was in shock that this lady is really seriously annoyed and it shows! So she asked my daughter, "what kind of haircut?" My daughter explained layers, etc. Then she look mad again and said- "I don't understand what you want with your hair!" Then my daughter was confused why she is acting like that, I can see it in her face as she was just trying to explain, and she was treated like that! So I asked Elena, "what's wrong? Why are you acting like that? As soon as we walked in, you are already in a bad mood." So she kinda got awaken by that and calmed down a bit. I asked her, "are you Elena?" She said "yes". I told her, "you know I specifically asked for your service, after reading all the very good reviews that the yelpers gave you. That you the pro, very sweet and very nice". I was wrong. When I went back to the reviews of all the good words about her, it was like 12, 11, 8 years ago. So it came to my mind that most likely at that time, she was just new over there. Then when the other reviews says "mean asian old lady with purple hair"- those are all true! I just could not believe how Supercuts employ this kind of behavior combine with a very bad attitude. No respect, whatsoever! Let's say that she was just occupied with so much stuff going on for the day, and is having a bad day (I am trying to understand her side, too), But still- at the beginning of her work day, no matter how rough her day is going, or if they are short handed- Elena should not treat customers like that. This is unacceptable behavior. She may need to retire as she is so worn out- it looks like- doing this kind of job! Even just a fake smile, that's the least she can do, she could not even try! But she chose to show her true colors. She asked about the hair color. When we showed her a photo of the color- (it was brown), she immediately said - "that's green right there!" How is brown be a green? She was trying to drive us away by saying that she needs to bleach her hair. That it will take 2-3 hours. She don't need to say all of that! Because as soon as I walked in the door and she acted like that, I already told myself, I won't let her ruin my daughter's hair. I've had enough! Because she is so pissed and that's the worst result guaranteed. If you are not happy or not in the mood of what you are doing- chances are- it will not turn out right!! It will be a big mess! I hope management will have time to re-evaluate her that she cannot be treating customers like this and it really drives away the business. She has to calm down and take it easy! I am totally disappointed with my experience with Supercuts! Will never, ever go back here. Very sad but it is the reality, an unpleasant, impolite, disrespectful person like this really do exists! I have been coming here for more than five years . I always schedule an appointment and ask ahead of time if they have time to put high lights in my hair . This time I did the same thing I showed up early to my appointment. I was told the same thing as last time that they did not have time to do it because they close soon . They just lost my business. Been twice before in four months. I drove in at 1pm and asked for Andrea. She was not due in until 2pm. I scheduled a 2pm appointment with Andrea and drove home. Came back at exactly 2pm and entered as Andrea was placing a haircut bib around a gentleman in her barber chair. With raised eyebrows, I said, I have a 2pm appointment with Andrea. The reply was "Well, so did he. And he got here first. We can get to you in a bot 20 minutes." Huh? What is the point of miking an appointment if they don't honor it? Jheree is amazing! She's consistent and my daughters love her. She's really good with the more difficult haircuts and really good with curly type 3 hair! My daughter went to another professional who was supposed to give her a "diva cut" style and Jherees cut was way BETTER. She cleaned up the mess that the other person made. On top of that, I've had really good customer service every time I've gone here. We just started about 6 months ago or so and keep going back. My husband has now switched to getting his haircut here too, his was cut by another woman who was also great with his hair type (he has straighter hair). So I just got my haircut today and I can't even be mad cuz it's too funny on how bad it is... I actually really like this place and usually get great haircuts but today I got a new woman with shorter pink hair and I don't think she knew where she was. I could tell pretty much from the start that she wasn't gonna do it right and I probably should've asked for a different hairdresser but I don't like causing scenes and stuff. So she's almost done and hasn't given me a fade, just a straight 2 all around, when I asked about the fade she looked at me so confused and then proceeded to fix only one side. Then spent the next 10 min doing the back and I could tell she didn't know either what a fade was or how to do one. After having a fit another hair stylist help us. As other customers walked through the door she barked at them as well. NO Customer Service skills at all. This woman needs to be retrained. Yeah, it is a Supercuts, so you can't really have high expectations, but this place is exceptionally bad! Every time I have been there it just seems gross & dirty. The stylists just don't seem to have a clue... I have always asked for a very simple cut (a "trim," really) with no fancy layering or anything, and it always ends up several inches shorter than requested, and is uneven! I should have walked out the last time, when the stylist kept stopping to text on her phone, and then a group of people walked in (appeared to be some relatives) & she left to talk to them for 10 or 15 minutes while I sat there like a dope. She always made my visits fun and I always left satisfied. I have been pleasantly surprised by how good my hair turns out when I come to this Supercuts. I've had some awful experiences at other locations, but every stylist here who has cut my hair did a good job. I'm a woman with short hair that is mostly straight with a few cowlicks that will stick up if cut too short. I've never gotten "square head" (where the back of my ahead looks flat rather than rounded in profile) or "Alfalfa hair" here. When I know exactly what I want, the stylists go along with my plan. If/when they think something else might be better, they make a suggestion and then go with what I decide on. When I am not sure the best course of action (like how to best control the mullet when I decide to grow my hair out), they have a variety of solutions to offer. I never make an appointment. If they are busy, just hang around until someone is free. It has never been longer than 15-20 minutes wait. The prices are pretty standard. All in all, a decent place for a haircut. I happen to dig the minty shampoo, hot face towel, and mini massage. It's pretty awesome to have that and a cut for $25. [Why not five stars? Silly reason... five stars would be reserved for a place I know of that caters to queer folks (I'm queer), serves complimentary beer or coffee, and has the same price range for cuts. But that place is in Oakland, and I don't have time to make special trips just for hair care.] read more

This place overcharges like crazy and doesn't even give you what you want! I asked about how much they charge for ombre and balayage and showed Terry what I wanted and she said she can give me exactly what the picture looks like but it came out the complete opposite. She said it looked even better than the picture but I didn't think so. She sold herself saying that ombre/balayage is easy to do and she has been doing it for 10 years and she explained to me everything in the picture that I wanted, so I thought okay she knows her stuff then. UH Wrong! I was pissed when it came out. She started telling me things that are wrong with the style that I wanted and it wouldn't look good on me when she previous had said that it would look really good on me. I had her tone it down and it helped a bit but it wasn't what I wanted at all. She ended up giving me a discount which is nice but that doesn't make up for not giving me what I wanted. I wish I could've given this a better rating, I went in for just a wash and blow dry. The stylist was very nice, attentive and did a great job at straightening my long hair. What I did have a problem with was when it came time to check out, she charged me $25 for the blow dry and $9 for a "tea tree experience" which I did not agree to nor did she ask me if I wanted. I saw ads in the store marketing this "tea tree treatment" so I felt taken advantage of as she just took it upon herself to add this service. The salon could've also been better maintained such as working tools like hair dryers and flat irons and more attention could be paid to cleanliness for example wiping down the walls. Although the prices for most services are inexpensive- for the service I got I felt it was overpriced! read more
