Very upset and angry! Took my autistic son to get his hair cut, because his regular stylist was closed today. From the moment we walked to her chair, this woman, Yvonne had a major attitude. I overlooked it, thinking maybe she was just not a people person or was having a bad day. With a snotty attitude, she asked what we wanted her to do. My son gets flustered around new people and it takes him a few seconds to get out what he wants to say. Well, as he nervously starts to explain to her how he wanted his hair cut, she sighed and rolled her eyes, as if she was irritated with him. So, I spoke up for him to explain that he just simply wanted his hair trimmed a little and thinned out. She asked if I had a photo of what we wanted, and having gone to the same stylist for years, I hadn't thought to have a photo ready. I told her "Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to find a photo, because I'm in the habit of his stylist just knowing what he wants by description". This somehow offended her, it seemed. From that point on, she seemed to have a grudge against his stylist, whom she did not even know who it was. The whole time she kept making nasty comments about his regular stylist's technique, which was unprofessional. And repeatedly, my son and I told her that he did not want the length and curls cut off in the back, each time she asked about the length. She proceeded to cut chunks off the side of his hair. I was joking with my son that it looked like he had a bowl cut(before she had finished), just to help put him at ease. She made a rude comment. I told her I was joking with him. Then, before I knew it, she had taken a big chunk out of the back of his hair, making it much much shorter than we had told her that he wanted. He is autistic and really has to keep certain things exactly the same. So, keeping the curls and length was very important to him. I had expressed to her several times that we did not want the length taken off. She continuously ignored what either of us told her. So, she cut his hair exactly how we told her we did not want it. When I told her it was way too short and that he was not happy with it, she did not seem to care one bit. She just shrugged and said that it looked good to her. I told her that the hair cut was not a bad hair cut, but that it was not at all what he wanted. All she would say was, well, I think it looks good like that, with attitude. I am pissed at the disregard this woman showed for my son, and at her unprofessional demeanor. So, because of her, my son had a melt down when we got in the car. When a customer comes into your place of business and does not have an attitude with you, and your job is dealing with people, maybe you should treat them with a little decency! Even though she rambled on about how she teaches how to cut hair and how well she knows how to cut hair, apparently she did not have as much skill as she thought. If she could not do something as simple as trim a little off the back and thin the top a little, then maybe she should make it known that her skills are limited. I am furious! I wanted to jerk my son out of that chair as soon as she started cutting, because of her attitude. But, it would have upset my son and caused him to get flustered. I have never been so angry and appalled by the behavior of someone dealing with a child. Maybe she was irritated that he couldn't explain himself very well, and I had to keep speaking for him. Who knows? But, her behavior was so extremely unprofessional!! I will never ever go there again. I am also making sure that as many people as possible know about her behavior toward my son and myself. Something needs to be done about it! No one should have to deal with attitude like that for no reason. The other employees in the shop seemed to be pretty friendly. read more
