It's okay. I got tacos here.m they were ok. Salsa green is no flavor or heat. I added a ton on my taco and couldn't taste any. Had to add red sauce. 2.99 each. Kinda $$$. My partner has been wanting to try Super Torta for a while, so we finally stopped by this morning and I'm so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, Alma de la Vega greeted us with a warm smile and exceptional hospitality. We ordered a breakfast burrito with chicken, egg, cheese, and frijoles, while my partner got the Super Torta Milanesa. The food? Absolutely delicious flavor was a solid 10/10! But what really stood out was the phenomenal customer service. Alma went above and beyond, checking in with us to make sure everything was perfect. When I asked if they had non-spicy salsa, she went into the kitchen and made me fresh, homemade salsa on the spot. It was incredibly flavorful and thoughtful! I've been visiting this place since I was a kid. It's changed ownership a few times but it has yet to let me down. For the most part, the menu has remained the same. However, today...TODAY we decided to stop by and they had this "Machete" quesadilla plate. Wow! There's always this sweet lady with the most cheerful smile, she recommended it. We were worried it wouldn't be filling but we stand corrected. I wasn't able to finish mine. It's a pretty massive hand made tortilla quesadilla (we chose asada). Very delicious and filling!! We went in since it was close to the car wash and I'm so glad we did. We got a torta de chorizo and a cubana with extra chorizo and avocado and both were delicious! The cubana was HUGE and my husband finished half! Very good! We stopped here very randomly because we went to the groomers next door. super Torta is a hole in the wall vibe with staff that treats you like you're family. We ate inside (there's no A/C when I went FYI) and got chicken super tortas, fríes, and some drinks. The prices were normal for a place in the OC and given the current environment of things. The tortas are perfect in my opinion. I ordered without onions and it's full of flavor, and a great combo of veggies, meat and sauces. There's no Mayo on them if that's your thing, but I thought it was great the way they served it. Fries are just the right amount of crisp, and the Aqua de sandia was phenomenal. The nicest part was when they brought over cups of ice for the two of us that got bottles water and Gatorade, which felt like a little extra customer service despite how simple of a gesture it was. I've been going to this place a few times. I like the menudo with pata and have ordered it over the phone several times and always ask for extra pata and have told them to charge me extra and they have but I never get that extra that I paid for. Today I went in personally and told the cashier exactly what I wanted and when I got home I was disappointed. Food is great but the service isn't. It's a super small restaurant and the owner still managed to arrange seating for our group of seven. The super sweet woman checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was to our liking, all while welcoming other guests and assisting the kitchen staff. I just ordered food here on Uber eats. My choice of meat was wrong on my soggy Torta and one of my items was missing. When I called the restaurant, the girl on the phone had absolutely no professional customer service. I was instructed to pick up my missing food if I wanted it. I told her I no longer wanted my missing food because her poor attitude made me lose my appetite, and that I wanted a refund when I waste my time to drive down there. she said I was not going to get my money back for the one job that she had that she didn't do because she forgot. While on the phone, I was told there wasn't a manager and/or supervisor present. If I was the business owner, I would re-think my staffing decisions. Seems like your employees can't read or they just don't care. To be completely honest I should have ordered Taco Bell instead. At least they aren't rude over there. I have never had to actively fight off the urge to get tacos for days in a row... until now. I came upon this place by chance; I asked a Northgate employee where a good place to take care of a taco craving would be and was pointed straight here. I should've known it would be good. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. Any Mexican restaurant with the word "super" in its name would make most people dubious, but I was pleasantly surprised to find mostly Hispanic clientele dining here. I'll have to warn you though, if you want upscale dining in a brightly lit, updated, roomy restaurant situated in an affluent neighborhood, look elsewhere. This place is the polar opposite. But if you want good, REAL good tacos with rather pleasant staff, this is the place to be. Their tacos come in tortillas made in-house. There is no question about it. They are soft, dense, chewy/pliable, and melt in your mouth. The chicken taco was kind of bland and dry; not my favorite. The carne asada, however, was very, very good: tender, juicy, and flavorful. The al pastor was HEAVENLY--amazing flavor, nice texture, just moist enough, and worked very well with the onion & cilantro the tacos came with. The salsa on the tacos was pretty mild, but they do give you another bottle on the side in case you like it hotter. It's really inexpensive---less than $5 for 4 good-sized tacos WITH a drink. Wow. Good thing too, 'cause it's cash only. One day I'll have to try their other dishes (a torta might be a good start), but at the rate this ravenous taco craving is going, it'll be ages! read more
