Instead of shopping at Publix, I have been shopping at Thriftown because of its sales and quality of products. Other than the Dekalb Farmer's Market, located on E Ponce De Leon, Thriftown has one of the most diversified cultural enviornments. It introduces peoples from a variety of different religions and nationalities such like Burmese, Nepalese, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Eritrea, Bosnea, just to name a few. The manager there is also kind, hospitable and very helpful and has a skilled set of workers from cashiers to stockers who like him, are very helpful, social mannered and suggestive. I like that about stores when I am shopping and looking for something in particular. If only I could give a 7 star rating to show my appreciation to all they provide. I would definitely recommend thriftown to anyone looking for peace amongst a diverse people!

I would like to make a formal complaint about an employee named Marva at the Walmart Supercenter…read more During my visit, I felt that Marva was extremely rude and disrespectful toward me. The way she spoke to me was inappropriate, and she made comments that I felt were unnecessary and hurtful. I was only trying to shop and have a normal experience, but her attitude made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I believe employees should treat customers with patience, respect, and professionalism, even when there is a disagreement or misunderstanding. I am asking management to please look into this situation and address the way I was treated. I would appreciate it if this complaint could be taken seriously.

When you come in there is a buffet of assorted food to choose from. I decided to go with the pork…read morebecause my other options were liver and hearts. The market is kind of fun to walk through and the food all looks great. I had the egg plant, pork over curry. It was okay but the meat quality was pretty awful. I couldn't even chew up most of the pork pieces. The food also was not that warm. They gave me hardly any pork and and ton of rice, I would guess 3 cups of rice to 3/4 of a cup of curry. They were nice enough to let me try these little bread disk, and those were pretty good. Verdict: Very adventurous food, but lacking quality.

This has to be the greatest place on earth. I have never been here until recently. I remember when…read morethis location was a Publix and I could never understand why it changed. Was in the area decided to get a seeded watermelon but bought so much more. The fresh fish, all the foreign merch that's hard to find, the bakery pastries section! I love this place. So many options it's overwhelming. And they have cool items you can't get everywhere. And the prices I believe were great. My only issue is the customers/demographic/patrons. You will want to fight people in here! That's nothing against the store, but these people shopping are rude, crazy and insane. Lots of foreigners, etc. From the moment you walk in, it's like a relay mad dash to the merchandise. Literally almost got ran over twice and had to wait like I was at a red light for foot traffic to pass so I could go down an aisle! Absolute madness. I cant stand the people in there shopping and their obnoxious kids, but that in mind, mentally prepare, super cool place to grocery shop. It's out of my way, so I can't imagine when I'd be back but I highly recommend.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way... This has been my farmers market ever since I moved to Atlanta 10 years ago. What keeps me coming back isn't just what they have--it's who they have. The staff here has always made me feel like family. Whether it's the sweet gentleman who cuts the fresh pineapple, the gentleman preparing fresh coconut water, or the ladies at the checkout counters, everyone is consistently warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Those interactions may seem small, but they're a big part of why I continue to return year after year. Of course, the selection is incredible as well. This is where I buy most of my fresh fruit, a lot of my meat, and--let's be honest--my desserts too. Speaking of dessert, there is one item I absolutely have to mention: the fruit tart. I've tried fruit tarts from all over, and I can honestly say this market has my favorite one. Every single year, it's become my birthday tradition to pick one up, and I look forward to it just as much as the celebration itself. It really is that good. One thing I've always appreciated is the consistency. No matter which part of Georgia I've lived in over the past decade, I've continued making the drive because I know exactly what kind of experience I'm going to have every time I walk through the doors. A couple of helpful tips if you're visiting for the first time: * While the parking lot can look busy, I've almost always been able to find a space. You may have to park a little farther away, but a few extra steps are well worth it. * Also, be sure to come prepared--this market accepts debit cards or cash only, so credit cards aren't accepted. There are plenty of farmers markets around Atlanta, but this one has always felt like home to me. Between the incredible selection, consistently fresh products, and the kindness of the people who work here, it's a place I'll continue returning to for years to come.

On Saturday, September 27th, I purchased nearly $260 worth of groceries and one of them was a pork shoulder. I came home, put it in the fridge and pulled it out the next morning to season it. The meat was turning green and foul smelling. I immediately brought the meat back to their butcher and they refused to refund me for the meat. They yelled at my husband and called him a liar, they insisted that they didn't have a quality control issue, and their policy is to not refund anything if they don't have a quality control issue. I was stunned. I spoke with management, with customer service, and explained that I purchased this meat the evening prior. Very recently. I also just wanted the meat refunded, and was even considering getting it swapped. They refused to discuss any option, they yelled, and they even blamed my husband and me for the problem!!? This is a terrible way to do business. I'm so disappointed and frustrated. I cannot believe they think it is appropriate to run a business this way. Still stunned.
