I had gone to a few other furniture stores, several times, but still couldn't find anything I liked. I walked right into Furniture Express and boom, I found exactly what I wanted for a great price! Jean is AMAZING! She is very helpful, HONEST and patient with helping customers find what they want. You even have the option to custom create your own look for your furniture (patterns, colors, etc). Jean is unreserved and very laid back. This was my best shopping experience in the few years that I've lived in the Valley! I never thought purchasing furniture would be so fun and pleasant! The process was easy and quick. I would give her my money over and over again. I definitely recommend Furniture Express! As good as it gets! Thank you Jean :-)

This is one of those eclectic furnishing and giftware stores that beckons me like a treasure hunt…read more The search begins when you park on the side of the building (where all sorts of metal frames and wood doors may be found) and peer at a large "entrance" sign above a large wood door that actually doesn't open. One then walks around to the front where a stone paved sidewalk with a garden variety of beautiful plants, some this summer slightly blocking the walkway, guides you to the main entrance. Inside there are a variety of metal/wood furniture pieces that have been hand forged or updated in numerous ways. An antique writing desk is in a backroom that has been updated with steel pieces giving it a vintage yet contemporary appeal. There was a nostalgic letter inside this desk from no less than the owner sharing its long family history. I have purchased giftware and a metal wood side table for my living room from Urban. There are bars, dining tables, signing and a lot of original art. There is also lighting, some of the Indian variety, and a range of Mexican and Southwest artifacts. It is worth the trip and also making the rounds a few times. I enjoy that someone is not peering down your back and one is left to wander. A Phoenix gem. I will be back!

It was our last stop of store touring and had we known how cool this place is we wouldn't have gone anywhere else. I was in awe of all the artistry in every piece of furniture in here from the moment we walked in. (The landscaping outside was equally impressive.. If only we had a yard!). Once we walked in we were greeted by Nick. We told him what we were looking for and he directed us to pieces he recently finished among others in his store. If there wasn't anything we liked he was happy to put something together. But that was not the case...we liked Just about everything in his store. We had him make us a zinc top table with an angle iron base along with a bench made of reclaimed wood and steel. He custom made these items based on the measurements we gave him and the look we were going for. We left the design in his hands and they came out as we had hoped! We've since been back as his store always has new things. KUDOS for the fact that the one-of-a-kind pieces he made were locally sourced and manufactured here in PHX! Awesome!

There is also a small coffee place located inside this store. Kream Coffee. The coffee looked great, but the line was long. Anyway, back to the knick knacks - lots of fun things to look at. Some outright strange, but others just the perfect item. The employee seemed busy and not eager to engage which seems counterproductive if you want to sell things. Maybe all part of the image? I am not a fan of being bothered while I shop, but I also hate the feeling that I am intruding. There are 4 - maybe 5 parking spots...seemed most were full for people getting coffee. So, while I enjoyed my time here the hassle might not be worth the effort.
