I say this was an interesting experience because both items were wrong but close enough? But they called my name? LOL (If you're reading this and the below was your order, I am so very sorry) Single Sensei Burger ($13.50): I was intrigued by the smack sauce! Not too spicy but tasty. This was supposed to be one 1/4 lb beef patty, but my burger had grilled chicken and a beef patty together. Not gonna lie, it was a killer combo and I didn't think twice when I ate it. Only realized upon drafting this review that the menu did not mention a chicken patty LOL. There's no notes section when you order online so perhaps this was chef error? Either way, I will actually order this again :P Fries ($4): I ordered garlic fries and only realized I got regular when I already dug in halfway. Being hungry makes us do hasty things :) Fries were nice and crispy, and I didn't bother to ask for the right order since it was the same price. Could be a 5 star - would return to give it a second try. Came around 6pm on a Friday and it was packed at first. A lot of people were waiting for to go orders. There are two self serve ordering kiosk and one cashier as well. The middle area of the restaurant has a large communal type of table but it can get crowded or full of people waiting for their order rather than people eating there. I did like how they provide self-serve pickles that you can grab yourself near the sodas. These were really good and complemented the burgers well! As for food, I ordered the sensei burger (not on the menu in store, but shows on their website) along with garlic fries. I forgot to sub the ciabatta bread on the burger, but it was still good. I think I'd prefer a burger bun but the ciabatta did hold up well since there was avocado and sauce and some juice from the beef. The smack sauce it comes with does have a kick but goes great with the fries. Garlic fries had great garlic flavor but were a bit soggy and clumped together. Do wish it was a bit crispier. read more

We came in on a Sunday evening and needless to say it was busy. However service was friendly and fast. If you cannot find a seat inside, they do have outdoor seating. Today I tried the new Super Duper Burger. This is where the old Mods pizza used to be. It still has some of the same seating set up but done well. The service is good and pretty quick. You get a greeting when you enter and exit which is very rare these days. It's been open a little over 1 week and it's packed. I got the mini burger, fries and a Oreo cookie shake. The mini burger is a good size. Not a slider but a small single burger. They give you the option of other cheeses like cheddar. The burger doesn't natively come with pickles so if you want them you have to ask. Everything was fresh and made to order. The bun was really soft. The patty was very juicy and filling. The cheese a bit sparse and melted away. But overall a good burger. For a burger fries and a shake is going to fun you about 20. Everything is an add on. The portion of fries is large. They were crispy and hot. The shake was bit runny lacking Oreo so it's not like a blizzard or McFlurry. Is the best burger in the bay? You have to come and try it for yourself. I think it's a really good place in a good location. They are organic and you can tell because it's fresh. Would I go again? Absolutely! read more

It's fantastic! I've been to several of their other locations many times. This new one has great decor, is in a convenient location, and has tons of parking. Despite it being packed, we were greeted upon entry. We had a Super Duper and chicken sandwich, garlic and regular fries, and drinks. They nickel-and-dime you a bit: of course cheese is extra, but more for aged cheddar? Come on.... And charging like $2.75 for three sauces is a smidgen criminal. All of this being said, the food is delicious. Something went askew and our order was lost. We were just beginning to think that it had been a long time when the owner/manager/very nice person came by, apologized, brought us our food and comped everything. Wow, that totally unnecessary but also very kind. THAT'S the way to provide great customer service. In sum, hooray for them coming to San Ramon, and we will be regulars. read more

I really love Super Duper Burger. Shoot, I love all burgers. In-n-Out, Super Duper, 5 Guys, Fuddrucker's, mom/pop shops, and yes.. McD's too. Super Duper, I've been to the ones in Cupertino, 2 in SF, the one in Valley Fair (Before they closed it). They're all great and this San Ramon one (so far) is no exception. The burger meat quality is as expected. Great fat content and perfecftly rendered so as you bite into it, it does have grease coming out but not so much it's disgusting. The bun, fresh baked and not super airy like Fudds' but it is like a slightly denser brioche. The reason I want to dock a star (but won't) is because they're still getting their legs. We went during the early soft opening. This is so their crew can learn the processes to make everything work smoothly. They've got some time to get it all down, but I am confident they will. We waited about 15 minutes for our meals which is a little long, but when you have 30+ people in line, waiting for a free meal, of course you're going to get slammed. The place was immaculately clean. Not beacause it's new, but be cause the staff walk constantly walking around, wiping tables, and helping people. Top notch! Great job Super Duper. With respect to the food, I'm pretty disappointed in my burger. I asked for no tomato. It's even on the printed receipt that they attached to the bag. And yet there was still a tomato. Then they neglected to put any sauce on the burger. So it was lacking in complimentary flavor. Lastly, it was overly salty. That's hard for me to believe since I tend to like salt. So, overall, I am not impressed. I will say that I was happy to see they can add malt to a shake. I love malt. That shake was pretty good. There is a large parking lot, so parking is easy. It's located where Mod Pizza used to be, near Target. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday night. There is inside and outside seating. We only waited about 10 minutes for our burgers. No French fries because I just started a statin . My mini burger was the perfect size. It was a little pink inside, but good. I came here with my younger brother after his game, and the experience was unexpectedly memorable for such a laid-back place. He accidentally spilled his milkshake all over the table, and before we could even ask for help, one of the staff members cleaned it up and brought him a smaller replacement at no charge since he looked embarrassed. The fried chicken sandwich is rubbery, dry, dark meat. Accidentally tried it again thinking I had a bad go the first time but it's a hard avoid and $12 in the garbage. I have been excited to try this location since I read they were opening and it did not disappoint. I went a few days after grand opening and had the mini cheeseburger which was the perfect size for me along with the garlic fries and regular fries. The garlic fries were definitely heavy on the garlic but the burger was the star. It was juicy and cooked perfectly. They split two lines for those waiting for the grand opening promotion (first 50 people got a free Mini Burger) and those who did not need the promotion and just wanted to order could walk in for the kiosks. They serve beer and wine and have TV's inside, so I imagine it could be a nice place for watching sporting events Cheese is not standard on their burgers and costs extra. Burgers themselves are cooked medium by default. Pickle bar is a very nice addition for pickle lovers (not me, so I didn't try it) Despite how busy it was for a grand opening, there was a good amount of space both inside and outside for seating, and I enjoyed a nice meal. read more

Well the burger tasted good as expected, but idk what happened with my grilled onions. I didn't want raw onions so I chose the grilled onions instead. I would have thought it'd be logical to put the grilled onions INSIDE the bun, but I guess that wasn't in the training? I went to pick up my order and when I asked the young man at the counter why the onions weren't inside the burger, he just smiled and said "yeah that's how it's served" and then turned around. But I've been to other SD's before and I've never had my onions served on the side like that. Also not pictured, but I got the most watery flavorless "strawberry milkshake" in my life. I think there was too much milk in there, and definitely not enough strawberry. The milkshake station has lots of toppings and other stuff, it looked like it would get very backed up in a rush. I came before the dinner rush around 5pm so it really wasn't even that busy, but the drinks station was very behind. Not a big deal, I know they are still learning but it woulda been nice to have my shake at the same time as my burger. I'd say give this place another few months to get up to speed and work out the kinks. But I will be back in hopes for the real deal in a few months. read more

I stopped in a few weeks ago for lunch during a promotional soft opening where I was gifted one dine and meal. We were able to order anything we wanted from the menu. The staff was really helpful and instructing how to use the ordering tablet. The greater is also very helpful and friendly. Despite the dine in requirement, many others simply to their meals to go. I dine in and enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich with Sriracha, garlic fries, and a drink. Laura, a manager I believe, came by to check on me, which is thoughtful. I gave an honest review of my sandwich and my slightly soggy (my bad-see below) garlic fries, that she immediately sought to replace herself. She also explained how you can adjust the doneness and crispiness of fries and other burgers. Laura was a pleasure to speak with and brought the new order of fries within about five minutes, apologizing. The wait staff was also extremely friendly as was the one Guy busing tables. Wasn't so Super, or Duper. A long wait for an order that was incorrect. When my husband went up to the counter to let them know that the order was incorrect, nobody helped him, for 5 minutes!! They just said "oh okay" without offering any resolution. My husband had to put the tray on the beer taps to get their attention. He told them they may as well remake the entire order since it was cold by then. With the new order. my hamburger was raw. The texture of it was disgusting. Then we heard the people behind us, their order was wrong. I think we'll stick with Danville Brewing if we're going spend that kind of money for a burger. read more

Saying something like "thanks for making a mess" to a kid, then repeatedly staring you down while you're trying to eat, comes across as unprofessional and unnecessary.
