So it's nice to see another style of chicken sandwich AND custard option in P'cola. I cook more than I'd like here because it's not as exciting or as culinary inept cities I frequent in the world. I'm here for another month so after trying Super Chix I think I'll come back again. I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and although it's not Prince's or Hattie B's (Nashville hot chicken institutions) it's a tasty enough sandwich! On your first visit you get a choice of free custard. My fave custard is Rita's so that's how i measure...the custard tastes more like ice cream. Definitely missing that mouthfeel i crave in custard. The chocolate is better than the vanilla in most custard places outside of Rita's and it's the same at Super Chix. Got a mintOreo fusion instead of a drink and it did remind me of McFlurry from way back. Cajun fries reminds me of the ones from Steak 'n Shake. I got it to go. It was slow coming out but the food was hot and fresh. There's also an impressive sauce station. Sauces were all pretty good. This was my second visit to Super Chix. I was super impressed with the food on my first visit and knew I'd have to return to see if the food was consistently good. Well, let me tell you, it was fantastic! The chicken tenders, fried, and tossed in Nashville Heat sauce are delicious! I love the fries seasoned with that tantalizing Cajun spice, too. But what really takes the cake is the Korean BBQ sauce they have for dipping... it is off the hook! That sauce is going to keep me returning time and time again! Let's talk about service for a moment. While the concept is kind of "fast casual" and you order at the counter and get a table number to have your food delivered to you, I was asked by no less than three employees if I needed anything else and if everything was good. Needless to say, the customer service here is exceptional. Atmosphere you ask? I would describe it as kind of an industrial/country vibe with 70's and 80's pop music playing in the background at just the right volume. Went there yesterday, there was one other person in there so it's not like they were swamped. Food came out quick and we enjoyed it. However a few hours later I became very ill and upon further inspection the tenders we took home with us were not cooked all the way. I had the chicken tender kids meal. Not a big eater and was waiting on the rain to pass. The service was great. They were all so sweet, helpful and kind! 5 stars The Cajun fries were great! The chip tenders were not crispy and a bit rubbery. I ate two small bites and that was enough. The custard of the day was a nice sweet treat. We knew this place was opening soon after trying the place next door last week so we decided to stop in. I had the cheesy bbq and it was very good. It comes with a fried or grilled filet, bbq sauce and onion rings on top with cheddar cheese. My wife had the cordon blue and it was delicious! The food was top of the line but a little pricier than I would like for chicken sandwiches and fries. Ours for the 2 sandwiches and 2 fries was almost $40. Out running errands with the family on a Saturday and saw yet another chicken sandwich open up. I'm glad we decided to give this one a try because it might be my new favorite. I tried the sandwich of the month, the Korean BBQ sandwich, which was so good (also a good sized portion). You have the option to order grilled if you are trying to go a little healthier (I did not). My wife and daughter both ordered grilled chicken tenders which came out with a good seasoning and there are a bunch of dipping options available to try out. While the food was delicious, what impressed me the most was the customer service. While we were waiting to order (and still looking at the menu), a member (think the manager) came out and took our order with a tablet. Later while picking out a table another employee offered to wipe down our table and I also saw her taking trays from other tables. I also saw who I think was the manager cleaning up around the condiments and beverage area. It's unfortunate to say this, but it was extremely refreshing to dine at a place where every employee we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful, and didn't look miserable and hating life like at a lot of the competition. This new chicken place opened up recently in Cordova Mall. They offer a variety of chicken items along with frozen custard. My friend and I stopped in for lunch and sampled their menu. We ordered two chicken sandwiches: the buffalo ranch and the fried avocado. Both were delicious, the buffalo ranch was perfectly crispy and tossed in their house buffalo sauce. We tried the rosemary pepper fries along with the cajun style. We decided we both preferred the rosemary pepper seasoned fries. They have a sauce bar as well! I had the frozen chocolate custard with oreos and reeses on top, it was beyond amazing. Super creamy and not overly sweet, the toppings made it perfection. Finally gave this place a try, and probably won't be going again. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular or out of this world. Except the French fries, those were amazing. The chicken breading is a tad sweet. Add that with the sweet bread buns they use, and you have a sweet tasting chicken sandwich. Their garlic aioli is way too overpowering and another layer of sweet. Their Nashville hot sauce is actually hot, that was good. But the sauce can't save a mediocre chicken sandwich. The custard is custard. Nothing mind blowing about it. Gave this new place a try and....DELICIOUS!! The sandwiches were huge and chicken was juicy. I loved the brioche bun. I had the Deluxe chicken sandwich. I also got the rosemary pepper fries, so good as well. They have a whole sauce bar, and you can get as much as you want (get the original)!! Staff was super kind and seemed to love their job. They came around and offered to refill drinks and sauces for us. It was a tad pricey around $17 for a single person (sandwich, fries, drink).
