    Fried pickles and ranch
    Jennifer D.

We have been seeing all the review videos on TikTok and were pretty excited to go try Waldo's for the first time this past weekend. There were four of us, myself my 20-year-old niece, my older sister and my mom. They all had the chicken tenders with fries, coleslaw and collard greens respectively, and I had the white meat rotisserie plate with potato wedges and mac and cheese. We also ordered fried pickles for the table. I was pretty satisfied with the cost it was about $77 for the four of us to eat, and we did order a few extra sauces as well. Atmosphere-wise was nice, like any fast casual place I do think it's over hyped online but that is to be expected. There was plenty of seating, the booths were comfortable and they were also high top and standard table options as well. No complaints. Even though it was super busy the line moved fast and the employees that we interacted with were all incredibly nice and helpful. On to the reason that you're here though, the food. I think that I went in with pretty high expectations after seeing all the claims of it being better than Cane's and the hype built up about it online. It was good in my opinion but not great. The general consensus was that the chicken is comparable to Cane's but the sauce didn't touch it. The cornbread muffins (which were given to us for free because our pickles were a little behind, that was so sweet thank you!) are good but I prefer Jim & Nicks if you're comparing them. My rotisserie chicken was pretty underwhelming it was cooked well and it wasn't super dry but there wasn't a lot of flavor. Most disappointing for me was the Alabama white sauce then it comes with I found it really watery and too vinegary. I couldn't eat it actually and it's normally a favorite. The potato wedges were good kind of like KFC quality. Mac and cheese I was not happy about honestly it looked really good and creamy but again there just wasn't a lot of flavor it helped if you added a lot of pepper. The fries were fine but forgettable. Coleslaw was good. Collard Greens were very good and my mom was especially happy that there was pepper sauce on the table for that. Honestly the best part of the meal was the fried pickles. They were almost perfect in my opinion I would give them a very high score. The breading was light but crispy, they weren't overly greasy, they had a perfect texture and the ranch was really really good with it. I would come back for those alone. Now onto actual ratings: Overall Experience: 6/10 Customer Service:10/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Rotisserie Chicken:4/10 Mac & Cheese: 2/10 Potato Wedges 7/10 Cornbread Muffins:6.5/10 Coleslaw:7/10 Chicken Tenders:7/10 Collard Greens:8.5/10 Fries:5/10 The family all want to go back or would be willing to go back and try different menu items but personally I'm happy with this being a one and done experience.

This was our second time eating here. The restaurant is clean & the bathroom is clean as well. I had the rotisserie chicken sandwich and man that was delicious. The chicken super moist with tons of flavor. The fried pickles are pretty damn good too. And it's great service with every employee kind and happy to see you.

Tried Waldo's Chicken & Beer on Davis today. They just opened this week, so it felt like the perfect time to check it out. We started with the cheddar biscuits, which reminded me a lot of Jim 'N Nick's. Always a win. The tenders were lightly fried and not overly crispy like Foo, which I appreciated. The ranch and house sauce tasted very similar to Foo's, and that is not a bad thing. The jalapeño ranch at Waldo's was even better in my opinion. Their fries are fresh, and everything is cooked in tallow oil, which I personally like. They offer two salad options and several sides. I stuck with fries this time, but I'll try something different next visit. They also serve wings, fried chicken, and rotisserie chicken. I'm especially interested in trying the rotisserie next time. It's a good variety for a chicken and fries spot because sometimes you want something a little different. From a kid's perspective, Ella approved. She loved the mac and cheese, fries, banana pudding, and she liked that her tenders weren't fried as hard as they are at Foo. Now for my sweet tea people Full transparency, I am a huge Foosackly's tea fan. Chick-fil-A is my number two. The tea at Waldo's is where they have room to improve. Once you add ice, especially the small pellet ice that melts quickly, it gets watered down fast and tastes pretty light. I would love to see it brewed a little stronger. Parents, kids 10 and under eat free on Mondays with the purchase of an adult entrée. Dine in only. Overall, it was a good experience. I may have grabbed a Foo tea after , but I would definitely go back.

A bit pricey, tenders are so small $12 (see pic) Chicken & biscuits are miss leading Beans & onions were crunchy, fries were lukewarm. Rotisserie chicken was bland ( Sam's is much better) I know they are new and very busy which surprised me after the long wait for all the food to be lukewarm except chicken tenders they were hot. And they were out of mac & cheese @ 5 pm. The sauces were good. I don't think I'll be back

The flavors were there . My chicken was a lil greasy . Fries were nice and thin collard greens had a lot of flavor and prepared nicely. Will go back to try the wings . Maybe not as greasy

    3 Finger Combo

Was a little skeptical that this place was just another chicken place. Well, I was wrong. Chicken was super fresh, and sides were solid. Mac and cheese was really good, potato wedge were ok, would have liked a little more seasoning. Now back to the main event the chicken. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Atmosphere is great too. Would have gotten 5 stars if the sides were better and there was one thing about the menu I didn't really like, they had two different 3 finger combo options one were you can change your side options but it didn't come with a drink, (drink was like $3) and one with three fingers a drink Cole slaw and fries but no substitutes. That option wound up being a little cheaper but I really wanted to try the wedges and my wife wanted the Mac.

And honestly? The vibe is the star here. This place is wildly eclectic in the best way. A huge outdoor area that feels built for lingering, laughing, and losing track of time, plus a maze of themed rooms inside that make every turn feel like you accidentally walked into a different bar. It's unique, memorable, and exactly the kind of place you want to love before the food even hits the table. The service definitely helped that cause. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant from start to finish. Then the pretzel appetizer arrived and apparently chose violence. The beer cheese sauce had the consistency of warm yellow water and somehow even less personality. The pretzel itself tasted like it had been baptized in butter but still came out bland, which is honestly an achievement. I didn't know something could be both greasy and forgettable, but here we are. Thankfully, I was aggressively encouraged to order the club sandwich. "You HAVE to get it," they said. For once, the hype mostly paid off. The bread was toasted beautifully, full of crunch and flavor, and the sandwich as a whole really worked. Now, the meat? Let's just say it had strong gas station cold-cut energy. Perfectly edible, nothing offensive, but nobody's writing songs about it. That said, the mayo situation deserves its own fan club. There's some kind of mustard-seasoned magic happening in that spread, and it absolutely carries the whole sandwich across the finish line. Honestly, give me that toast cut into strips and a bowl of that sauce, and I'm a happy man. Forget the turkey, let me dip carbs directly into whatever wizardry they whipped up back there. So where does Goat Lips land? A place with a killer atmosphere, great service, one appetizer that should be investigated, and one sandwich condiment worthy of applause. The experience averages out exactly where the stars do: right down the middle. Three stars. Goat Lips is average food wrapped in an unforgettable setting, which somehow makes the whole thing more fun than it probably deserves.

Jaeger Schnitzel was ok, potatoes were fine. I did like the red cabbage, but it is vinegary, which is the way I prefer it. I noticed other reviewers mentioned this as well. I had the apple strudel. It looked like the ice cream was plated over a week ago, I don't know how to better explain it. The whipped cream was frozen in the center. The strudel was good, but you could tell it had been made a while ago and they had reheated it. It did not come with berries and powdered sugar like it showed on in other pictures on-line.
