I had it delivered via DoorDash and it was still excellent. Buffalo chicken sandwich was delicious. A little spicy, right amount of crisp. The bun was soft and fresh and hello to the sandwich perfectly. The pickles were a very nice bonus, and there were plenty to enjoy. We have been seeing all the review videos on TikTok and were pretty excited to go try Waldo's for the first time this past weekend. There were four of us, myself my 20-year-old niece, my older sister and my mom. They all had the chicken tenders with fries, coleslaw and collard greens respectively, and I had the white meat rotisserie plate with potato wedges and mac and cheese. We also ordered fried pickles for the table. I was pretty satisfied with the cost it was about $77 for the four of us to eat, and we did order a few extra sauces as well. Atmosphere-wise was nice, like any fast casual place I do think it's over hyped online but that is to be expected. There was plenty of seating, the booths were comfortable and they were also high top and standard table options as well. No complaints. Even though it was super busy the line moved fast and the employees that we interacted with were all incredibly nice and helpful. On to the reason that you're here though, the food. I think that I went in with pretty high expectations after seeing all the claims of it being better than Cane's and the hype built up about it online. It was good in my opinion but not great. The general consensus was that the chicken is comparable to Cane's but the sauce didn't touch it. The cornbread muffins (which were given to us for free because our pickles were a little behind, that was so sweet thank you!) are good but I prefer Jim & Nicks if you're comparing them. My rotisserie chicken was pretty underwhelming it was cooked well and it wasn't super dry but there wasn't a lot of flavor. Most disappointing for me was the Alabama white sauce then it comes with I found it really watery and too vinegary. I couldn't eat it actually and it's normally a favorite. The potato wedges were good kind of like KFC quality. Mac and cheese I was not happy about honestly it looked really good and creamy but again there just wasn't a lot of flavor it helped if you added a lot of pepper. The fries were fine but forgettable. Coleslaw was good. Collard Greens were very good and my mom was especially happy that there was pepper sauce on the table for that. Honestly the best part of the meal was the fried pickles. They were almost perfect in my opinion I would give them a very high score. The breading was light but crispy, they weren't overly greasy, they had a perfect texture and the ranch was really really good with it. I would come back for those alone. Yes but.... They have bugs to workout seriously! The drive thru blocks access to parking on the exit side. Ridiculous Traffic Congestion! Then to be open for lunch at 1215 on a Thursday, telling me they are out of 1/2 Dark Rotisserie Chicken... so I laughed and said, make it 1/2 Dark Fried Chicken and get we're out of that too! No wait could be 12 minutes... Chicken Restaurants that are out of Chicken at lunchtime should reconsider opening that day! Cafeteria Style Ordering, Beer and Margarita options. Comfortable Booths and tables. The whole chicken and Tenders we ate was delicious, sides and bland, lacking any seasoning. We will probably be back after they get several issues figured out! This was our second time eating here. The restaurant is clean & the bathroom is clean as well. I had the rotisserie chicken sandwich and man that was delicious. The chicken super moist with tons of flavor. The fried pickles are pretty damn good too. And it's great service with every employee kind and happy to see you. read more

I want to give this place 4.5 stars but I can't, so I'm going to push it to 5 :) First, dare I say this place is better than Raising Cane's? It truly is. The selection of everything, vice beer, was comparable to Cane's, but the food tasted way better. Their house sauce was similar to Cane's, but I also preferred it over Cane's. The staff was very nice helping us order since it was our first time here. Atmosphere is very casual, almost arcade vibes. They have a pool table and I think some other games in the back. Food came out fast. The only complaint I have is that for the cost, and size of the chicken tenders, I think the combo plate should include just 2 more chicken fingers. I tried Waldo's Chicken & Beer on Davis for the first time today, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. I ordered the Feed the Flock family meal, and everything was delicious. The chicken tenders were perfectly crispy with that real crunch, and the mac & cheese was incredibly creamy and cheesy comfort food done right. On top of the amazing food, the service was fantastic. The drive through guy even wished me a Happy Mother's Day, which was such a thoughtful touch and really made my day. read more

Tried Waldo's Chicken & Beer on Davis today. They just opened this week, so it felt like the perfect time to check it out. We started with the cheddar biscuits, which reminded me a lot of Jim 'N Nick's. Always a win. The tenders were lightly fried and not overly crispy like Foo, which I appreciated. The ranch and house sauce tasted very similar to Foo's, and that is not a bad thing. The jalapeño ranch at Waldo's was even better in my opinion. Their fries are fresh, and everything is cooked in tallow oil, which I personally like. They offer two salad options and several sides. I stuck with fries this time, but I'll try something different next visit. They also serve wings, fried chicken, and rotisserie chicken. I'm especially interested in trying the rotisserie next time. It's a good variety for a chicken and fries spot because sometimes you want something a little different. From a kid's perspective, Ella approved. She loved the mac and cheese, fries, banana pudding, and she liked that her tenders weren't fried as hard as they are at Foo. Now for my sweet tea people Full transparency, I am a huge Foosackly's tea fan. Chick-fil-A is my number two. The tea at Waldo's is where they have room to improve. Once you add ice, especially the small pellet ice that melts quickly, it gets watered down fast and tastes pretty light. I would love to see it brewed a little stronger. Parents, kids 10 and under eat free on Mondays with the purchase of an adult entrée. Dine in only. Overall, it was a good experience. To be honest, I would give this place 2 1/2 stars. The only thing that was quick was me placing my order.. It took me 22 minutes to get my six piece tender feast. And when I receive my fries, they were hard and cold, but the collard greens were pretty good and so was the lemonade. The atmosphere seemed like nobody really wanted to Work. Was a little skeptical that this place was just another chicken place. Well, I was wrong. Chicken was super fresh, and sides were solid. Mac and cheese was really good, potato wedge were ok, would have liked a little more seasoning. Now back to the main event the chicken. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Would have gotten 5 stars if the sides were better and there was one thing about the menu I didn't really like, they had two different 3 finger combo options one were you can change your side options but it didn't come with a drink, (drink was like $3) and one with three fingers a drink Cole slaw and fries but no substitutes. I know they just opened but.... Crispy wings? More like rubbery. There was zero crisp to the wings at all. Fries? Not crispy, not hot Chicken sandwich was flavorless and bland. Spiked Slushies were watery and tasted more like a limeade than a margarita. I really hate to be negative but first impressions are really what make me return to any restaurant, bar, store. The staff was great but I really don't like the walk up and order and then go to a separate bar to get beer etc. After a mediocre at best experience like that it makes me regret not cooking my own food. I'm sure it's probably better than this experience but how much better can you improve on something so lackluster that when you leave you look at your wife and say ! Seriously, if the writing and letter size on the overhead menu to look at while in line to order ....was any smaller it'd take the Hubble telescope to read it. Who thought this was a good way to present the menu? The standard sauce has too much pepper. 12 different sauces way to many and the menu is way to big for the operation. The restaurant is new & I know that accounts for some issues BUT only 1 person in the food prep area & kitchen had on gloves and not one person in the kitchen/prep area had on hair coverings. The waitress/waiters carry the food to your table in small baskets with their thumbs inside the basket. Most of the food prep/kitchen staff have long loose hair. There must have been 10-12 people running in/out of the kitchen grabbing things & taking things into the kitchen. The chicken pieces are extremely small for the price too. I can't wait to read the Escambia County Health Inspection Report on Waldo's when it comes out!! They need to CLEAN up their act fast! read more

First time here, probably not the last time. It's a very clean open bright and welcoming restaurant. Was greeted as soon as I came through the door, offered suggestions for my meal for lunch. Food came quickly and what was hot was hot. what was cold was cold, overall the OG sandwich I had was tasty enough, but there wasn't much to it. The chicken thigh was either pounded or cut to be very wide, giving the impression of a big sandwich, but it was thin. The batter was not overdone was nice and crunchy and enjoyable. But overall, that sounds just wasn't very impressive. It was just too small once you got done and just not happily put together. If that makes any sense. The onion, tomato and cucumber salad was somewhat tasty, but it could use more vinegar and seasoning. It was fairly bland. Bathrooms clean everybody's walking around happy and nice and was a very clean restaurant would enjoy that more so at other restaurants. But it was loud, there weren't that many kids, but the kids that were there a couple were screaming and crying and raising a fuss and it just reverberated through the whole restaurant. They need some more soft items to absorbed the echoes and the noise and I think that would make a big difference in it being a little quieter. But overall, I enjoyed my meal. I enjoyed my time there, if I'm back in this area again, I will stop back and try something else. read more
