The food is delicious and plentiful. Compared to other bbq places, the cost is a bit higher but it is worth it. The service is a bit slow, so if you're in a hurry plan ahead. We dropped by Sonny's for the first time ever on Father's Day and had a wonderful experience! The wait wasn't too long, the restaurant was definitely busy but clean and well kept, and the service was really great! We had the loaded tots for our appetizer with pulled pork (can't remember the name of the appetizer) and it was DIVINEEE. The cheese sauce they use is amazing! It was so good that my husband and I got a side of it to dip our grilled cheese and burger in! The food was all hot and prepared perfectly. We also got banana pudding as a dessert and it wasn't spectacular, but also wasn't bad. I've had better. What put the cherry on the ice cream was we got a free bottle of the bbq sauce since it was our first time ever! My husband absolutely jumped for joy over it. read more

I almost always order the Sweet Carolina Sandwich at Sonny's! The pork was fork tender and the sweet mustard sauce was delicious! I got it with the Mac and Cheese which tastes like a creamy cheddar cheese delight. I love, love, love the Iced Tea here and the banana pudding is beyond good! If I based the quality of the food on the quality of the service, this dump would get zero stars. We (party of 3) were seated by a hostess. After sitting at the table for 20 minutes with no drinks, no acknowledgment from anyone, and definitely no food we simply stood up and left. I went to drive through paid $13 for cold meat on my sandwich surrounded by hard stale bun and soggy old fries . Enough to make me never go back ! stopped here while on a drive back to Florida post-hurricane Milton. I figured Sonny's would be a safe bet as they tend to be pretty consistent as far as a chain would go. This night was much different. To begin, I waited over ten minutes for a table and was only seated after I flagged someone down. Next, I was placed at an right top table off in the corner. I mentioned this because because I would have to constantly flag down a manager or my waiter in order to place my order or to get a re-fill. Service was awful. As for food, I kept it simple. Delicious and plentiful! We had our 2 pups with us, so we sat outside on one of the four picnic tables. Even though we were outside, our waitress was great! She was very attentive to our needs. We arrived after most of the lunch crowd had already departed. Our drinks, kids meals and appetizer came out quickly; however, our entrees took a little longer than we expected. Despite the lengthy wait, our meals were tasty! My husband did find his chicken to be dry and corn had too much pepper, but, he really enjoyed the coleslaw! Portions were large enough and leftovers were taken for later! Their sweet tea was perfect for me....not too sweet, just right! My daughter had taken my grandson to the bathroom after we ordered our food. It was clean and orderly. After we ate, I went in to the restroom and some disgusting individual appeared to have had an "accident" and some of their poop missed the toilet completely. Not only did they not flush the toilet or clean up after themselves, they stepped all over the poop on the floor. I immediately let the closest employee know that there was an unpleasant situation in the first stall. They went in immediately. I really felt bad for whoever had to clean up that mess! Disappointed with this visit. Clean neat dining room with people spaced out. Waitresses wearing masks. This is very important to me due to me bringing my 84yo mother with me. She likes eating out but I won't risk her health at restaurants that don't care. Our waitress was great, but overworked. I did leave her a 25% tip. The meal on the other hand was a different story. One you don't serve garlic toast that is BURNT. TWO my first order of St Louis ribs was fatty and gritty. Most of them were left on the plate. Your cook needs to learn how to trim fat from ribs. I got the all you can eat so my next plate had lean meat on the ribs. I guess it's hit or miss on the ribs. Three the French fries were cool not hot. Very disappointed. We also had the fried pickles as an appetizer. They were ok. It was our first time trying them. So it was a curiosity. Not the best barbecue I've ever had, but the location was convenient for meeting an old friend. I ordered the ribs and they were a little chewy. Service was pleasant. After finishing the meal, we opted to stay a bit longer but outside in the sitting area. The combination of several families with screaming, uncontrollable children running all over and hollering to each other wasn't that pleasant, so much so that we weren't the only ones who couldn't wait to leave. I appreciate that a staff member went over to the family to talk to them but it didn't seem to make a difference. read more

That being stated, I have to say that I've not eaten at this location more than once, prior to my recent experience. That will now change, because the customer service received was beyond exceptional. The entire staff, especially Ronald (Tweet), who was very helpful, and explained questions that were asked. Extremely disappointing. I think they have a Vegan running the BBQ. I'm just eating the take-out I picked up 15-mins ago. 1-lb of brisket and some pork egg rolls. EVERYTHING was over done. I don't mean medium when you ordered rare or MR. The brisket is dry; so dry it requires sauce, catsup and lots of water to choke down. I stopped after two pieces. Would rather have had beef jerky. The true test was when my dog eat about the same amount, drank half a bowl of water and left a half-pound or more of brisket on his dinner mat. Horrible BBQ, the worst I've had in decades. The pork egg rolls saved my dinner. The shells were dark brown on the edges, but after I broke off about 10% from each end, they were good.....with the dipping sauce provided. Pulled BBQ Chicken sandwich was delicious, grilled chicken lacked flavor. Pulled BBQ chicken also had multiple bones in it that were very disruptive. Grilled chicken was served on wrong bun from requested. The sizzling sweet sauce made all the difference flavor wise. Cookie was noticeably microwaved with a very crunchy center and soft outside, entirely unevenly cooked. The Mac n Cheese was nothing to rave about, probably could find something better at the IHOP next door. Fries were the best thing, perfectly crunchy. When this restaurant first opened up it was good and the portions were just like the other chains. In the last year I have tried this restaurant twice I've been disappointed how the portion size has been reduced from when it opened up. Today I met a friend for lunch and I got a lunch plate she and I were both shocked at how small the meat portion was and asked me if it was a kids meal that I ordered. I will go back to Pensecola for Sonny's but not the one in Pace! My portion size wasn't even enough to fill a bun if I wanted to make a sandwich on their sliced brisket. read more

We dined in a few weeks ago to see if the aroma we always smell while shopping at Lowe's lived up to expectations...and it certainly did. We ordered the egg roll appetizers and they were very good. We both ordered different meats, different veggies to share and all were very tasty. They served the most tender chicken with the just right amount of smoke flavor. I wasn't super crazy about their corn muffin, but it wasn't bad, just little crumbly. We sat at the bar, as it was super busy but the staff took turns checking on us. All of the sauces were fun to try. The manager even gave us a complimentary bottle...little did he know my husband decided to order my entire Birthday party catered by his restaurant a week later. Everyone at my party enjoyed it and we are still enjoying leftovers. The BBQ, BBQ Beans, Green Beans and Mac-n-Cheese were all very tasty.
